  1. Well then, that is scary... That is awesome. I wish that would happen to me...
  2. My favourite colour used to be blue, which was a while ago, and then for a while I couldn't decide what colour was my favourite, and now my favourite colour is purple, or maybe violet (I'm not entirely sure of the difference), which I think has something to do with Twilight, but the funny thing is, Twilight is not my favourite pony, Fluttershy is. So it's not my favourite pony that has affected my favourite colour, but it is a pony.
  3. I have, as of yesterday, finished my first semester of my second year of University. I didn't go on MLP Forums the whole time because I I knew this would otherwise become a major source of procrastination for me and a distraction from homework. But I miss this place so much!! So I'm thinking of maybe continuing to go on here next semester.. I mean, I procrastinate with other things anyways, so I might as well. In any case, during Winter Break (which ends Jan. 5, I think) I...

  4. THIS THREAD NEEDS MORE FLUTTERDASH! That's better
  5. I go to Church too, though I never would have thought of that comparison.
  6. Yes. That ending is actually what really makes me excited for season 5, because I want to see how it will affect the plot of the series. Don't think of it as a money grab; think of it as a kind of series plot progression not many cartoons have. There's not many shows out there that have as major of a change as Twilight's becoming an alicorn or this whole castle business. Also, people called Princess Cadance a money grab and she turned out to be freaking awesome, money grab or not. And finally, don't worry too much about the library being destroyed, Twilight will build another one—do you really think she could live without a library? Still, it is true that the loss of her good old library she's spent so much time in and loves so much is really sad. But I'm still psyched for seeing what will happen next and how the new castle will affect the course of the series. I think it's gonna be awesome
  7. I watched the documentary "A Brony Tale" yesterday. It was quite good.

  8. So true. I really hope they have that karaoke game next year, that was awesome. Even though when I was there I didn't really feel comfortable joining in in the singing... but maybe next year I will.
  9. Ah, that's too bad. Hence why ponies are way better than hiking .
  10. We didn't end up going to the Meet and Greet like I said I would, since my brother didn't really want to and I didn't feel like arguing with him... But, that's okay, because we met you guys in line anyways (and if we hadn't, I would've gone to the Meet and Greet anyways without my brother to make sure I met you since I said I'd see you there), so it's no problem. SO HERE'S HOW MY FIRST DAY WENT: So after registration we checked out the vendor's hall (since it was open by that time, having taken us about an hour and a half of being in the line up to get registered; I'm not complaining though, the time seemed to go by quickly), bought some stuff, and then went out for lunch (to the food court at the mall nearby, which we walked to), got back, checked out the vendor's hall again, bought some more stuff, and then attended the "Ponies on the Internet" panel, where we watched Cloudbolt and Feld0 speak about their experiences of doing pony-related things online (I was very excited to see Feld0, since he created this wonderful site ). After this we attended the Brent Hodges panel on his documentary "A Brony Tale" (I also bought a copy of the DVD ), stayed in the same room for the Opening Ceremonies, drove to Subway for dinner (we could've walked, but it was a little cold out, plus we just didn't feel like walking), got back for the panel hosted by Jim Miller and Jayson Thiessen (and, as it turned out, joined by Stephanie Mahoney), which was pretty cool. Nicole Oliver was there too, just watching in the front row, except at one point a question was asked that pertained to voice actors, so she got up and said some stuff about it, so that was pretty cool. And then we went to the concert, which goes till 11:30 except that we left at around 9:30. So overall, 'twas a fun day, filled with much ponies, very friendly people, and my buying WAY more merch than my mom was pleased at when I got home (I think it was worth it, though). A lot of people complemented us on our hats, so that's nice. Oh really? What did you buy? Not Saturday? Unfortunately, I did not notice an anti-bullying shirt-wearing person... but if you do see me, feel free to introduce yourself if you want! Just mention you are Aquaryan so I know it's you. And I'm the one with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy clipped to the sides of my hat. If you introduce yourself as Aquaryan to the guy with Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie clipped to the sides of his hat, he won't have any clue who you are, though I'm sure he'd be friendly enough. Luckyyyyy..... Haha, sounds perfectly normal. It was AWESOME. But the next days are gonna be even MORE awesome because there'll be even more awesome panels to attend, including quite a few that I'm really looking forward to. Gonna be a great weekend .
  11. My pass has Cork Top on it. Also, I'll be wearing a Canada-themed hat with little Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash plushies clipped on the sides. If you see someone wearing a Canada-themed hat with Twilight and Pinkie Pie clipped onto the sides, that would be my brother. I'll be going to the meet and greet mixer too. I hope to see you there
  12. I know how you feel! This will be my first one too... I am excited, and slightly nervous, but more excited.
  13. BronyCAN is in 3 days, aaahhhh so excited!

omg her voice is amazing you've got to listen to her.

  14. I've always felt like I relate mostly to either Fluttershy or Twilight. I guess I'm not as shy as I used to be when I was younger, so I'm probably closest to Twilight in personality now, but I used to be really shy, so I am able to relate well to Fluttershy. Although I do care more for books than for animals, so... that aspect of Flutter's personality I can't really relate to, but I can definitely relate to the shyness even though I'm not really that shy anymore.
  15. The bronies are a fandom. A fandom cannot be a sub-genre. And they're not a sub-fandom because Bronydom is simply a fandom by itself, one which started and grew independently of the Furries. Also, if Bronydom was to count as a sub-fandom of the Furries, then all bronies would be considered a specific kind of Furry. And if that's the way you want to look at it, then there's nothing I can say to stop that; it's a matter of your preferred definitions of "Furry," I guess, but I think a Furry should be defined as a fan of anthropomorphic animals AND someone who identifies themselves as a Furry. If they don't consider themselves a Furry, they're not a Furry. So no, I don' think Bronies can or should count as a subset of the Furry fandom.
  16. I don't personally like them more than G4 (though the only experience I have with any of them is G2 via the Friendship Gardens computer game), but a reason I've heard is that the previous generation toys more closely resembled real horses and are therefore better, as toys, but not having a better TV series. This is a reason that might be given by older people who were into collecting MLP toys in the previous generations and are also fans of real horses. For me, though, I couldn't care less if the G1-3 toys resemble real horses more closely or not, they look unappealing and ugly to me (unlike the G4 toys, which I've bought quite a few of...), but there are people who prefer them. Probably a lot of it also has to do with whether people grew up with it; like Blue Moon said, there's a nostalgia factor to it.
  17. So I finally got around to finishing Season 4. I had heard that the finale was epic, but DANG that was amazing. One of my favourite episodes in the series for sure. It's made me so excited for Season 5.

  18. I like the theme music. I understand how people wouldn't like it, but look at it this way: it could be a LOT worse. It could be like the previous generation openings, a lot more girly. I guess the main thing I don't like is when there's continuity errors or just things that don't make sense in general, like for example flashbacks that have background ponies that are the exact same age in the present time (for example, I'm pretty sure the foals from Sweetie Belle's 5th birthday party are the same as the ones shown in present time in "Inspiration Manifestation"; I'm not %100 sure of this, though, I didn't pay too close attention, but I'm pretty sure they're the same). I really wish they'd pay more attention (or care more) about little details like this. Because things like this remind you that what you're watching isn't real but had creators behind it. Of course you know that it's not real but while your watching a show it's always better if you can be made to forget that what you're watching is scripted and created by actual people, because you become more engaged in the show. It's the same thing watching a play if an actor breaks character. Even if it's only momentary, it reminds you that he's just an actor, which distances you from the story. Same thing with keeping plot details/character histories/character personalities consistent in a TV show. I guess it's not a huge issue, and it's not like it happens all the time, or even very often, only a very few times, but still... it is something that could be improved on.
  19. I think parents like doing that with names. Even though technically it kind of defeats the purpose of names if they don't prevent people being confused with other people, which is what they're supposed to do. But oh well, it's not such a big deal people getting our names mixed up. At least they never get us ourselves mixed up (and think one of us is actually the other) like they might if we were identical.
  20. I really like your signature... Oh, and what you posted is very true too! Fluttershy is complex. She's so afraid of everything, but she does face her fears when an animal or one of her friends is in danger. Cause she's awesome like that.
  21. Me and my brother don't look entirely different, like we both have blonde hair and are close to the same height (though I'm taller), but otherwise we look pretty different. Although, a big factor in people mixing up our names is probably that they sound so close—"Justin" and "Jordan." And then there's our cousin Jacob who also has blonde hair and a similar name, haha.
  22. I have probably around 50 or 60 CD's, all of which I've bought within the past 5 years. Me and my brother also have a shared collection of DVD's we've bought over the past few years, and there's probably around 50 or so of them. And then there's all the VHS tapes we've bought from Value Village (a thrift store). I'm so glad we have a VCR, because Value Village (or at least the one we go to, I don't know about elsewhere) tends to have a lot of very good, classic films on VHS for only a couple dollars. Like, literally only a couple dollars. For some of the greatest films ever made, like Casablanca and Gone With the Wind. The downside is the film quality of VHS is noticeably worse than DVD... but still, it's cheap. I prefer buying physical CD's for my music rather than off iTunes, though I have bought some albums from iTunes in cases where I was too impatient to find the CD somewhere and/or looked but couldn't find the CD anywhere. For movies, I will sometimes watch them for free online if I don't think or don't know whether it'd be worth it to buy it.
  23. Hi! I have a twin brother, though fraternal rather than identical. He's not a brony (yet...). He's the only sibling I have. Sounds kind of like me and my brother, ha.
  24. I wouldn't say watching MLP is a guilty pleasure for me, but liking it enough that I own quite a few MLP plushies and post about it on these forums regularly... I guess that's kind of a guilty pleasure.
