  1. I look to context and verb tense.  I can't remember someone saying to me, verbatim, "What did you do this weekend?"  (Though you or I could easily infer what was meant.)  However, it's not unlikely to hear, "What are you doing this weekend?"  It's "this" weekend because it's the "end" of this "week"; that's fairly logical and straightforward even from a grammatical standpoint.  If I'm on a path (A to B ) and headed in a particular direction, I wouldn't refer to my destination as the "next" end.  I'm moving towards the end of this path; my destination is this path's end.

We aren't computers; they ain't got nothing on humans.  I can reason out what someone actually means by taking context into account, and I neither need - nor necessarily expect - precise language.  Besides: For some people, their spoken grammar isn't as exact as their written grammar.  I know what someone is saying even if they aren't talking like a grammarian writes.

  2. Idunno how it's ultimately going to turn out (since they revamped the battle system and are releasing the game in episodes), but the Final Fantasy VII remake that's in the works will finally answer some of those questions you had concerning Vincent from Dirge of Cerberus. xD  I'd recommend the older strictly turn-based titles (particularly FFIV and VI) if you can find them someplace (roms and emulators are a thing).  And the only Assassin's Creed game I've enjoyed is Black Flag; the sailing / pirating aspect (with relatively little out-of-Animus BS) made it more appealing to me than other AC games.

  3. I know you guys are maybe running damage control, but I think Jeric's topic, at least, should've stayed up (I'm Team Jeric, all the way).  You're just confusing some members who weren't around for the pretty long period of time that everything was available to read.  If people want to jump ship, that's their business.

  4. While it's good that you finally took that step of getting something MLP for yourself, you're still going to what seems like a lot of trouble to hide your interest from everyone.  And believe me: You didn't have to make up that cover story for the Wal-Mart employee.  They don't care.  MOST people probably don't.  I'm over thirty years old; I'm sure it's perceived as weirder for me to watch the show than it is for you to watch it.  But I don't deceive the cashier when I'm buying MLP merchandise; it just isn't necessary.

I still have a lot of VC games on my wish list.  If you think of the Wii U as a purely retro machine, there really isn't anything better on the console front.

  6. I've had the impression that they might do something like this for a while now (bits of info here and there from Nintendo coupled with Japan's love affair with handhelds and Nintendo's domination of the market), and I honestly hope this is true.  If I have a console that is ALSO a handheld, I don't necessarily have to buy both a Nintendo console and a Nintendo portable.  And the portable I DO buy will presumably perform better.  Win / win.
