when you aet in the evening you will start absorbing energy from your food about an hours later, it needs some time to get taken in by your body, so it will enter your body at natural sleeping time. If you take ti in the afternoon however you get the energy in the evening around 5 or 6 (if you eat at 12/1) which will then burn you to do things easier and make yourself exhausted easier. This in turn helps you to go to sleep better because you have a lack of energy when the natural night falls.
