  4. You have to expose yourself to those different ideologies so you can understand the competing thoughts. I read Ayn Rand's books but I am in no way shape or form libertarian, I just read it to understand their view. I like her view, but I don't agree with it. That's why I say I enjoy those philosophers and philosophies, they all have great grounds and good logical points, although I am a utilitarian. However, reading different schools of thoughts is what I enjoy, so I do enjoy their works, but I do not agree/believe with it. It's all about exposing yourself to different philosophies and I just ended up liking, not necessarily agreeing with, but like the ideas of some other philosophies/philosophers.
  5. I was in on that lolol xD Good ole times with Ghost. I was the 410 caller that called in 3 times; Tubguy is a saint and a scholar.
  6. The worst book ever read by me is a tie, so I guess it is a tie between all of Ayn Rand's books.

    gaming Best MMORPG?

Try Eve Online, the PS3 and PS4 have an open-beta game called Dust where players from the playstation game can help people on the PC game, and vice versa. It is sci-fi and centered around your space corporation.
  8. It's hard to say a favorite but any of these 5: -Scooby Doo -Courage the Cowardly Dog -Adventure Time -Regular Show -Fairly Odd Parents
  9. My top 3 are: 3) "Time" by Pink Floyd 2) "Feel Good Inc." by Gorillaz 1) "Five To One" by The Doors
  10. His quotes on Brainy Quote are good, but the book to get a good idea of his thoughts is "The Portable Nietzsche" he pretty much says everyone has a different higher truth and takes on a very cold view at the world, but truly praises the things that make it worth living: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCgQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.brainyquote.com%2Fquotes%2Fauthors%2Ff%2Ffriedrich_nietzsche.html&ei=T7t-U6ilH_OtsQTr9ICYBQ&usg=AFQjCNH6278KGj1uEQ9hm-ZGZ1csdBT9qw&bvm=bv.67720277,d.cWc http://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/516985-the-portable-nietzsche
  11. Have you read any Nietzsche? He is probably my current favorite, the one I am basing my thoughts off of now.
  12. Don't get discouraged, keep at it Plato is the foundation of philosophy, "The Republic" is one of the msot important books in philosophy
  13. Crimson Lance Fluttershy? I can dig that! And what are your favorite philosophies and/or philosophers?
  14. It's no big deal, any new music is good music so you can expose yourself to new things This SO much! Great songs I like how Jay-Z's flow and lyrics are perfectly in-sync with Linkin Park's it just flows sooo smoothly together ebcause Jay-Z can rap very well and Linkin Park can sing and play extremely well; bam, whoever gave that idea of an album must have been paid well afterwords lol Did I see Frank Zappa? My dad loves him, and I listen to Darkside of the Moon as I go to sleep on rough nights, "Time" is SUCH a great song!
  15. My Skype username: AaronAllBlacks I'm willing to talk to anyone, here's some hobbies so you can know me beforehand: -Rugby Player (Two consecutive years of being on the league champion team and defensive player of the year) -Programmer (Visual basic, C++, C#, Unity) -Philospher (Freiderich Nietzsche, David Hume, Utilitarianism, Humanism, and Solipsism) -40K Player (Tabletop & RPGs) And here's my personality traits: -Open-Minded (I'm very unbiased) -A Realist (I get called pessimistic xD) -Outgoing (I like to have fun)
  16. Hello all! I am a Computer Science major, however philosophy has always interested me. I enjoy the works of Freiderich Nietzsche, David Hume, and the whole ideologies of Solipsism, Utilitarianism, and Humanism. Perhaps we can all chat and discuss different philosophies, world views, and help each other get closer to attaining the higher truth?
  17. Indeed it was, I'm a big rap fan but I prefer rock over it, but the mixture of Jay-Z a classical rapper with Linkin Park, man! What a great album! I only know Linkin Park, time for some YouTubing, thanks for giving me more music to listen to
  18. Nice choices! I feel weird though I mean these bands listed are great, I guess I just like indie rock over classic, well except The Doors of course lol but it's all in each person's taste, and as an aspiring philosopher, Nietzsche once said that there is no one ultimate truth, each person to their own; and I'm glad nobody here is a cookie-cutter and likes the same things
  19. Did I hear DROPKICK MURPHYS? My dad showed me them, and have liked them ever since lol The Eagles are great, and of course Billy Joel counts 'cause we didn't start the fire (The song that helped me through AP World History and AP US History lol)
  20. I liked that, and if a list would take all day, just name 5 bands that really hit you deep down Again, more good bands coming up in this thread! I know this isn't a rap thread, but I liked Jay-Z and Linkin Park's crossover album.
  21. Nice list! I'm glad people on here have great and diverse tastes in music, I used to be so uncultured in it until I started managing my friend's band.
  22. Nice! The Doors are my idols lol they're amazing, Creedence Clearwater Revival is good too; these bands along with the Stones laid the foundation of rock music.
  23. Nice list! I'll have to listen to some of the ones you listed I don't know, do you like 60's rock?
  24. Oh ok thank you for the fix and helping me out! And list some of your favorites
  25. Just list your 5 favorite rock bands and why: 5) Meatloaf: Great love songs but still has a great sound, and his songs with Jack Black are great. 4) Built To Spill: A band from the 90's still kicking today with that great indie sound I love. 3) The Vaccines: A newer band with catchy tunes and that college rock theme. 2) Gorillaz: I can't believe it started as a pet project, but they are just so great and can mix so many genres together, one of the only bands I can listen to a whole album song after song without the need for flare. 1) The Doors: Jim Morrison was a great singer and their sound just amazes me still (Listening to When the Music's Over now) I personally think they should be in the Top 5 Best Rock Bands of All Time. Here's a mural an art teacher gave me: I don't know why the picture didn't post >_<
