I think I like Shining Force because it was the first SRPG I ever played, and I've since gotten so ridiculously good at it. (It's balls easy, but really awesome, you should play it.)

Days of Ruin was harder, but the story was great. Though it didn't have a true leveling system, and that confused me for a while. That and managing an in battle economy was a little different.

Hmm...difficult to say. I'd say give at least one of them a shot. Try one of the GBA ones if you can. They don't have particularly fascinating stories but they do their job well enough.

Oh and I will play Shining Force eventually. It's on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for PS3 and I plan to get that so it'll be easy to get it.
