Now that we have a sapient deer species in FiM (comics anyway), now I'm tempted to create an OC based on them. GEEZ.

Probably so, BUT in a sense the ponies seem to be the dominant species and have probably had more time in regards to evolution and growth of culture. It's safe to say that the population of sapient deer is much smaller, so it could be why we have non-sapient deer. So...I dunno. XD
(Oh, I definitely will soon enough. These deer are too awesome not to! XD )

Woohh...... You almost lost me there in all of that but, yeah! I think I understand what you mean, but isn't.. But...! What if the sapient deer have been there all along too, they just haven't shown themselves in pony.. Towns and places? X'D Oh my gosh, I'm just hoping for too much here.
