      The book has a lot more information and well... if you have watched a lot of movies without reading the books and met up with people who have, then you have probably heard it enough often, when people say: "But the book has more stuff in it than the movies did and were a bit different" :P

      You would have a lot of fun ;). If you really enjoy the worlds of stories and lores, I recommend reading the books then, there is a ton of lore to be found there and hidden explanations :D.
