While not the most exciting of races, tonight's IndyCar race at Gateway in St. Louis had an impressive crowd and a GREAT ending. Hopefully this will be one of the stable ovals on the IndyCar circuit for years to come!

It's still open for testing. Some NASCAR teams use it for testing, but the track hasn't seen a race since 2011 The track's current owners, Panattoni Development Company basically doesn't care about the track, and will probably end up like Nazareth or North Wilkesboro.
And don't forget Motegi. The oval is still unusable for racing after the earthquakes from a few years ago.

Forgot about Motegi! That is such a shame as it was a decent oval, but I guess nothing much else other than IndyCar used it in a major sense. If IndyCar ever comes back to Japan I guess it's the road course then; though saying that it's not a bad course itself.
At least the Milwaukee Mile is still open and there is SOME hope that IndyCar will return, though with Road America being close by & such, I don't see it happening anytime soon.

I think it's dumb they won't host races at tracks that are "too close to one another", which is why we'll never see an Indycar race at COTA. Although, it's that's probably due to the owners of Texas Motor Speedway holding Indycar by the balls about it.
I also the schedule was longer in general. I'd also like to see Indycar back in Miami. I'd also say New Hampshire, but Will Power would probably disagree.
