  1. Guys, let's keep things on topic here. It's fine to have some fun, but let's not stray too far from the main point of the thread. No one's in trouble; FYI. Just talk about the weird merchandise & stuff, and leave the rest to PM.
  2. As this discussion is a lot more general and not centered on anything specific with "Friendship is Magic" or any of its derivatives, I have moved this to the General Discussion section of Everfree. Please keep in mind your subject content and idea before placing your threads. You'll likely garner more interest and discussion if in the right area. So please, continue your discussion and have a good day.
  3. Lessee...I voted Jeric, Simon, Dawn, Troblems, Destiny, and Fhaolan. I'm very curious about the end product here. Whether or not people believe that can sing or not, what we have today is the coming-together of a community for a wonderful cause. Along with what joy we hope to bring to the kids, we also hope to enjoy ourselves. Let's make this happen!
  4. Yay! Dragon Age: Inquisition arrived today. <3

  5. Heading home! Hopefully, a nice, relaxing day at home. And if not, oh well. Gotta deal with what we get. SMILE SMILE SMILE <3

    1. NetherMan65

      NetherMan65

As long as I have my music, I'm always relaxed. #Luvsumwub

  6. Or you can just have Dawn listed SIX times yah know...
  7. We just need them all in cute winter gear with little red cold noses singing Christmas carols. This should be a TREAT. XD
  8. My sympathies then. What is it that you do in that case; if it's okay for me to ask?
  9. I have to agree with this statement. Don't get me wrong; we've had some GREAT fanfiction from some talented writers. Considering works like "It's Dangerous Business; Going Out Your Door" and all, you know we have some great things from this fandom. At the same time, @Andaasonsan's point really rings true. With works like "The Journal of the Two Sisters" and the Daring Do books, we have material that not only builds on what the show, but is directly referenced towards the show itself (moreso than the comics). That gives us official material to actually build the world from. You can't do that with fanworks; really. As great as some things can be, it's not official material.
  10. That's good at least, but still though; ow. >_< Rest and recover my friend.
  11. I have nothing but applause for that. Well said. Oh geez, don't make me curious. XD I grew up a Star Trek fan, so...yeah. Thank you.
  12. Lessee...have a very exhausting day yesterday which included eating out, shopping, and lots of walking while still trying to get over the bad sinus issues I've had and only having about four hours of sleep...I'm fairly fine. I'm a bit sluggish and all, but it's a VERY slow day at the bank today, so...yeah. Yikes, just simple pains or something serious?
  13. I was the same about the first of the reboot Trek films. It had some great parts mixed in with some...interesting parts. XD I bought Into Darkness just last night, so I'll hopefully watch that one fairly soon. I seem to recall many classic Trek fans absolutely hating on the movie, so...yeah. But yeah, my thoughts echo yours on Star Wars. As long as the plot and characters are interesting; I'm game. Plus, those X-Wing scenes... <3
  14. I wasn't hyped at all before watching that. I am now seriously hyped. Honestly, as much as I hate that the EU is being ignored, that's isn't a key thing for me. I just want to see the movie do well, and I think it could do pretty well. I think I'm one of the few fans of old Star Trek (TNG in particular) that actually did love the first movie (haven't seen Into Darkness yet), so I'm willing to see what Abrams did for Star Wars.
  15. That isn't a bad theory and I think there is enough support for it to merit a discussion. I would agree in a sense, but to say she was the main protagonist would be stretching it a bit; IMO. Of course, you could say she was the star of the movie which I would heartily agree with! As it stands, Sunset Shimmer is just a protagonist amongst a group of protagonists; only with MUCH more development. The Mane 6 also had important parts to play as well. Without them, Sunset either wouldn't have developed as she did or she would've reverted. At the same time they had to truthfully come to accept her. More than once they made a reference to her past (even freakin' Twilight did that) which doesn't help her all that much. Only when did the Mane 6 finally overcame that barrier did it allow Sunset Shimmer to truely shine. So yeah, I wouldn't call her the main protagonist; just the most developed from a group of protagonists.
  16. Well, considering the various responses this discussion has received thus far, as better question to ask might be "what constitutes childishness?" In the end, video games are a form of entertainment media. I'd put them in the same category as movies, tv, music, and books. That's not to say that all five are the same; they each have distinct differences that set them apart, and even that's not an apt-enough description. Why should one form of media be considered childish then? Is said media to be defined by one such broad generalization? Couldn't movies be considered childish in their own way? Of course that industry has been with us a LONG time but I don't think all movies are the same. Where does Citizen Kane fit in? Lord of the Rings? Schindler's List? Rambo? The Expendables? What about TV? For every Breaking Bad & Game of Thrones you have Two & A Half Men and Family Guy. Music? Of course I wouldn't say it's childish. What about genres? Where does classical fit in? How about pop or hip hop? Books? Are we to say that the great literary pieces of history are to be compared to Curious George titles? My point? Video gaming can't be defined by such a broad term. To say that it is childish is to cast some of the greatest titles as merely toys for children; in a sense. Is Grand Theft Auto childish? In a sense yeah, but it shouldn't be played by children for obvious reasons. How about other gritty games like The Witcher & Dragon Age? Yeah the fantasy violence can be seen as childish, but the childish brush stroke is a tad unfair in reference to characters and storyline. But then, how about games like Journey? Shadow of the Colossus? Dark Souls? Ocarina of Time? Red Dead Redemption? If you want a straight answer from me; you're not gonna get one. Can games be childish? Of course, and there's nothing wrong with that. My favorite game series of all time is Spyro the Dragon and for the most part it's downright childish. However, using that term for some of my other favorite games like Age of Empires or Dragon Age: Origins is a bit unfair. Yes, the case can be made, but I don't believe it's accurate. I don't play Witcher because I feel it's childish. It's fun of course, but the choices a game like that present to you is far from childish. Let me reiterate: childishness in games is not a bad thing, it's just bad to label video gaming as childish, IMO.
  17. I picked this baby up at the FYE in the Charleston Town Center Mall. It happened to be the only MLP keychain on the rack, and even though Dashie isn't my fav, I just couldn't pass it up. <3 Honestly, after the loss of my Sporting KC ornament, this will serve as a worthy replacement.
  18. I honestly have no preference at this point as I can appreciate all three. However if I HAD to pick between then I'd likely go with Blu-Ray as it offers the better quality over DVD and I can hold it in my hand. I have to be honest; holding a season back of Game of Thrones feels pretty sweet. XD
  19. I won't disagree with that, and it's those young ones that can be very hard or impossible to convince otherwise. In time plenty end up seeing the truth for themselves.
  20. All right, I can see meaning in that statement. Considering everything there, I can see where the support would be welcome. While I see the intention here, I'm skeptical of the overall success rate there. While I am sure that some could be convinced, I can't help but feel the the majority mob would feed off if it and find it as encouragement.
  21. As much as I can agree to the statement, at the same time, it isn't universal. The actions of an internet bully or what-have-you can't be brought up in the same lengths as the great tyrants of the world. In the end, you can't change her views; nor can you affect those that follow her and agree with her. Sure some may see the light, BUT they end up finding that out on their own in a number of cases. I don't want to trivialize her actions, but I'm skeptical that confronting her has done much, if any, good.
  22. Unfortunately calling her out on her negative ways hasn't done much in and of itself, and from my own admittedly limited perspective, has only served to encourage her in her views and ways.
  23. Isn't that counter-productive though? I would think actions like that tend to add more fuel to the fire than anything else.
  24. "I am Professor Genius, and this is Bon Bon." XD
