Elia didn't fit into the society of Canterlot. Her hyperactive lifestyle just didn't match the life there. She was glad to be in Ponyville. The diversity, the openness, she loved it and she knew her brother did too. (Or so she thought) She was relieved to see her folks were alive. She felt so indebted to their saviour. It was the most beautiful sight she had ever seen. She ran home, itching to deliver the good news to her brother. Mellownius was rather torn on whether he should be happy that their parents were alive or sad because that meant they wouldn't be going home. Ponyville is a decent place, nice people, nice weather but it just wasn't home. If it weren't for Elia he'd still be in his old comfortable life. But if it made her happy, he wouldn't complain much. He fell back into his pondering mood and ignored the outside screamings of a mare running around with a fake spider in her mane.

Elia was standing at the Ponyville Station waiting for her parents. She had wanted to surprise them. It was minutes ago when she heard about the wreck. She desperately wanted them to be fine. She sat against the wall, head in hooves and continued waiting.

Just as he was about to resume writing his paper, a soft knocking came at the front door. Mellownius dropped the quill and slowly trotted over, dread filling his senses. A professionally dressed pony knocking on your door is never a good sign, ever. And it was usually about his parents. They ran the family business, frequently travelling around Equestria. And there was news of a train wreck. He added one with the other and concluded it was time to take Elia, leave Ponyville and go home, to Canterlot, whether she wanted to or not. He wanted to leave as soon as possible before some other misfortune can happen like a murderous psychopath having a slaughter party in town.

Mellownius was surprised he wasn't dead yet. For a moment he lost his calm demeanor and reeled in surprised as he saw Hivemind release a mighty blast of magic. He wasn't hit or even aimed at. He regained his composure and stood his ground. He was not surprised to see the changeling leader, Queen Chrysalis or ex queen now, seeing as she was stripped of her regality. Chained and collared like a pet, Mellownius was not shocked to say the least, if Aries could defeat the princesses and the elements of harmony, Chrysalis wouldn't be much of a challenge.

"Hail to the king!" Mellownius bowed before Aries, his voice calm and gentle as ever, a slight echo of his voice bounced in the room. It was a grand room. Lavishly decorated, fit for a king. It was for a king afterall. Any less would not do at all. Long live the king, hip hip hooray.

Mellownius took a step back as the throne room doors swung open. He was nervous even as he walked in. Aries was one of a powerful position. Who was he, a useless unicorn to be here? All the others could fight and do battle with the enemy. They were special and he, undoubtedly wasn't. But he couldn't back out now. He stopped shaking and held his head high. This was no place for weakness.

Mellownius disregarded their comments. He was used to the sort of vicious gibes of others. He knew for a fact he was probably the most useless one present but he didn't enjoy being reminded of that. He quietly went to a corner and sat there ignoring the others. Afterall, he didn't think they even acknowledge him as another sentient being.

Mellownius was looking down on the yet to be ruins of Caterlot. Time seemed nonexistent. Just then he remembered to gather outside the throne room. He had no sense or urgency whatsoever as he slowly walked down to the looming castle. He was met with two others chattering away with each other.

Fluorescent Fire was not a happy pony. He was in the canterlot library, in the midst of nodding off, when a soft rapping came on his door. He jumped out of his chair and the book on his lap flew a few feet in front of him. "Sir? Is everything alright?" A muffled voice of concern came from the other side of the door 'It's just the messenger, and nothing more' he muttered to himself. "Yes, I am perfectly fine. Sorry 'bout the noise. Be there in a sec, I was just napping. Don't go anywhere" He replied as he hurried to pick up the book and hastily straightened his messy mane. He opened the door and was greeted by the royal messenger,all deadly serious looking. 'All of them were like that' Fluorescent smiled to himself and the messenger. "So how can I help you?" "Her royal highness Princess Celestia has requested for the mobilization of the Solar Army. Your presence has been requested." Something in the air changed in the split second war was mentioned. Fluorescent's smile dropped straight to tartarus. His features hardened and tensed. "Understood" Fluorescent leisurely strolled down the great hallway, he would have simply walked on if he didn't hear the war that started in the office of the two Aegis Artifice and Implausible Ruse. His smile crawled back when he saw someone beat him there. Kinetic Energy, Head Minister of the Solar Empire, genius, inventor, tinkerer and self proclaim sociopath. All round weirdo but generally very enthusiastic and passionate about his work (Fluorescent didn't quite get half the things that go on in his lab but he was sure it was something too complicated for the average pony to comprehend). He was the most high ranking pony, besides the princess herself of course. He was a strange one but his fancy pancy words and mannerism was amusing, to Fluorescent anyway. Most people probably found him annoying. "Can't say I disagree, besides, the city's in the sky. We'd fall right through the clouds. I'm not afraid of falling, just the dying part." "Yes, dying does tend to be a problem. Death is so final, where there are so many possibilities for life. Regardless, it's not a viable tactical movement. Are they even paying attention to us, or are they just intent on being ridiculous?" Kinetic asked, turning his attention to Fluorescent Fire. “I have nothing against cheese but I think we'd better get going, doubt the Princess is going to dig the fact her head honcho's are gonna be the fashionably late." With a nod they both departed, leaving behind the two to sort out their difference.
