  1. Alright, game plan...

Imma buy another Lexus SC 300, but I'll buy an earlier model, like this:

    image.thumb.jpg.31012c4fe6de39cebde0f2d90f513ba7.jpg

Then I'll replace the upholstery with that of the Suzuki X90:

And then I'll paint it up like this Matchbox Isuzu Amigo:

I will have the most unapologetically 90s car of all time.

  2. Ah man. I was surfing youtube last night and came across some old cash for clunkers videos. That was such a shitty program... So many great cars killed. The mechanics were just doing their job so they shouldn't take the hate. I'm glad some of them got to have fun with some of the old cars before offing them. This video is hilarious:

I think that it's an odd example of a car that is not timeless. By that I mean, I get why people think now, in 2017, that it's ugly... But that people in the 1980s thought it looked sharp. There's definitely still a (very) small niche of people who love these, like you and I, but many people think it's a car best left in the past, and I understand both sides.

Hahaha, he's so on point. I can't imagine having people sing "Love Shack" to me day in and day out because of the car I'm driving.

  5. I tried the (kind of) new Pepsi Fire out. I didn't know what it really was when I bought it. To me, it gave the implication that it was spicy like hot peppers, so maybe it had some kind of pepper extract. I was wrong, as it's cinnamon. That's cool I guess, but why call it Fire then? I'm not big on cinnamon (and really I'm not a Pepsi guy to begin with), so I didn't really like it. I didn't waste it, though; I drank it anyway. But I won't be getting any more.

@Stormfury Yeah, I was hoping for Cayenne Pepper flavored Pepsi (it's not super spicy, but moderate, and tbh it's the best tasting pepper of most hot sauces I've tried). Lmao, Japan has all the weirdest stuff:

I would LOVE to try sweet potato Kit-Kats!

We just went to sight see, but I did get a T-shirt there. We went to a plethora of other little shops in the town, too, not just the Pickers shop. It was fun. Though it's quite uncomfortable trying to cram 3 adults into an '89 Camaro for an approximately 300 mile round-trip. It's our "Show Car" that doesn't get driven much, so we decided to take it on the trip since it's mid-summer. I had just changed the oil in it yesterday, too (which is a pain since the car is so damn low to the ground, and that makes getting it high enough with a jack stand to crawl underneath pretty difficult).

As I said before, the reason it may seem like he's a bit of a copy cat is because 1. Roman writes most of the scripts, 2. Ben is new, and 3. RCR's attitude in general (or Mr. Regular's attitude in general) has created expectations inside their fan-base. Before Ben can create his own persona he has to start somewhere. It's only logical that Roman would write Ben a script in the same way he would for Mr. Regular for Ben's first video.

The only problem in his review video (the Scion TC video I linked above) I found was this:

At 3:36 he says "Mazda 2" - but at 3:38 he doesn't say "Subaru BRZ" or "Toyota FRS" - What gives"?

Other people (in the comments) did have at least one nitpick worthy of merit, though. He didn't mention that the tC can come with a supercharger.

Lmao, but that's what makes him so awesome. You think of him (or even hear him in your head) when you see a car he reviewed.

Anywho, have you listened to Mr. Regular's intern yet? He's got an intern now. The intern's first video is actually pretty fucking amazing, and he is able to step into the RCR attitude without sounding like he's attempting to completely copy cat Mr. Regular - of course, it is still similar, but considering Roman writes most of the scripts anyway, and that it was [the intern] Ben's first time, he did spectacularly!

I think I once did 39 hours of wake time, with most of them being on the computer. I had random insomnia back then, I think. The last 3 hours I was barely conscious, lmao. That was probably late 2014 or early 2015.

Hmm, does the DMV still count as a "gov't job"? If so, I know a few folks who are definitely good people who work there, or at least did not too long ago.

  20. Normally, I prefer the Original to the Remaster, but I think I just found an exception... (warning, long read)

    Original:

    Remaster:

It seems to me this was a rare instance of a Remaster done *correctly* - by that I mean, rather than changing the whole "soundstage" / "stage depth" and ruining what the music was intended to sound like (which is why I dislike most Remasters), this Remaster was performed with the best intentions in mind to still keep the "soundstage" / "stage depth" intact while accurately separating the lows, mids, and highs from each other to increase fidelity. It's hard to tell with an untrained ear, but the original song has a little bit of "muddiness" - which is a blending of the frequencies, causing a sort of overlap between different sounds.

Here is an example of what I am used to hearing - a Remaster that ruins the "soundstage" / "stage depth" and totally changes what the music is supposed to sound like:

    Original:

    Remaster:

The original song sets the "soundstage" / "stage depth" up where the vocals are "in front" with a slight reverb echoing "behind" the listener, the drums are "in back" pushing sound straight forward, and the guitar is "all around" or "surrounding" with the reverb echoing omnidirectionally. The Remaster completely fucked that up, changing where the sound was coming from and going to - the vocals are now coming from center stage with the vocal reverb echoing to the sides of the listener, the drums are "in front," with the guitar being the only thing that mostly stayed true to the original. Bleh, I feel like I'm being too harsh. Truth be told, grunge is the most difficult genre to attempt to remaster, so, it's to be expected. Chevelle - Sleap Anpea is alt-metal/hard rock, so, remastering it I presume would be much easier.
