  1. Twilight: Pinkie Pie! What are you DOING to Fluttershy? RD: *gasp* Rarity: I cannot believe my eyes! Fluttershy: Oh no! I told you we should have locked the door, Pinkie! Pinkie Pie: It's not what it looks like everyone, we swear! *meanwhile, AJ strolls in, oblivious* AJ: *whistling* ... Hey guys, just got back from the farm. Wanna get some foo--- WHAT is going on here?! *In the corner* Spike: It's just like the dream I had the other night, ahhh... imeanwut errr... hehehhh....
  2. Ahhh yes... I'm feeling really, really good today. Refreshed, and renewed after a good 11 hour sleep last night, mind you, previously I was getting only 4 hours per night thru the week... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fb_h2kZNPYE ^_^ Peace, love, happiness.

Nothing says love, peace and togetherness like Oasis. They can't stop hating each other long enough to tour-even though all their shows would probably be sold out.

      Glad you're feeling better.

  3. Ahhh... Well, you see, my true dream job (and that's all it is, just a fantasy) would be in design engineering/testing, for a company such as Ford or Caterpillar. You know... working on the "Proving Grounds" - something like this: Yeah yeah - I know... Basically, I wanted to follow in the footsteps of either Tanner Foust or Mike Rowe, lol. But I chose a different path. My realistic dream job is that which logically follows my computer-science major: I hope to be a Systems Analyst one day. "Whoa! How does one go from cars to computers like that?" Good question... The biggest factors for me were (and are) the probability/likelihood of success. Graduating college with a degree in computer science - especially considering I will have had to have an internship to do so - opens up many more doors than the vague "I want to test the durability (etc.) of vehicles for money" lol. Plus, I've both loved cars and computers nearly my whole life. But being a gearhead is just enjoying a hobby for me. I knew computers were going to be the path I chose as soon as I thought to myself; *If you choose to go down the path of pursuing your interests in the automobile world, you'll likely just end up as a mechanic* - I knew computers were the right choice. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing on mechanics at all, and I'm not trying to over-generalize the pursuit of working with cars, but in my area, if you like cars, you don't have much of an option. And, I really don't want to have to move too far away from home for my future career. Currently, I'm a sophomore in computer-science, and the main focus has been java coding. I just had an interview today with State Farm for a possible internship during next summer. All I'm going to say about that is: it went well, and lasted for 45 minutes. I hope to be lucky enough to be selected for the internship. It would be a wonderful opportunity, and could push me one step further towards success after I graduate.
  4. Hmmm... So, I decided to change my avatar... And the lack of a kerchief around her neck oddly bugs me, since I got so used to seeing that red bandana on my old avatar, lol.

I'd love to see a dark blue on on her. Can't seem to find any pictures with her in a blue one. It's like, 90% of them are red, and the rest are green, lmao!

      Thanks ^_^

I just wish she had a kerchief/bandana around her neck...

  6. Awesome!!! I was trying my damned hardest to find her in a blue kerchief, now I finally have one. Lol, just wish I could find her in something like this: But it seems most are red, and only a few are green on her. --- Dang, these pics are awesome... I am really liking what y'all have been posting, haha. Here's a cool sketch of her humanization to add: And, oh yes, you know it - complete with a foxtail; gotta have that foxtail!
  7. Damn. It's bad when you see everyone going to bed at the same time here, yet [i am] still up because of this pre-lab I put off and barely know how to do. I want to be able to "bed" right now, but I can't until I get this thing finished. [insert keyboard + face smash here]...

  8. Welp. This is cool. [insert flag that says "non-optimistic sarcasm"] ... Go from feeling good just totally feeling blehhh... just looking at this bio/chem pre-lab makes me feel dumb. It's like my mind decided that, even though I payed attention and took notes - "nope lol" - and didn't remember anything. Ugggh....

  9. Alrighty fellers, so I took the "no, too nervous" route - but... I know that why I chose it is probably not the same rationale that it was meant to represent. My gut instinct was gonna press "no, because it's not right to do" until I thought to myself *hmmm, well, actually, the predominant reason that I wouldn't is secrecy, so...* and then clicked the "too nervous" one. Only one person IRL knows I'm a brony. And, that person is my [current] roommate. He's actually the reason I got into the show. But, he's not even a brony, lol - you see, he used to say, "ponies" as an interjection to mean "hey whats up" ... but for no reason at all, and not connected to the show. It was only a random buzz word y'know, to him. But one day I got caught off guard by it, and asked him about it. "Nope." was his response. Upon that moment I felt obliged to take it upon myself to look it up [for myself]. I didn't know much about the fandom until right then and there, nor anything MLP related, besides halfway knowing something in the like existed. SO, when I saw these pastel ponies I was like "oooh a cartoon!" and said "what do I have to lose?" ... So, I watched the pilot episodes. And the rest is history. (Ergo, I've long since watched all the episodes from s1 to s4 chronologically, probably 4 times though, hahaha). But, to this day, I can't be outward about it IRL to anybody but my roommate - and even then I get a bit uncomfortable - because I just don't think it very well matches the reputation I have for being "a true and through country boy"... I know it's not actually a confliction to my personality; people know me for being honest, humble, country, and kind of emotional at times; but at the same time, I know I'd be called a hypocrite by a few folks if they found out (more than "a few" tbqh). So, that is why I chose "No, because I was too nervous to."
  10. Awe shucks, thanks Megajack... I try not to flaunt and gloat, and toot my own horn, because I really am humble, but in a sense it can be hard not do that when I'm just being plain honest. And with that, I should say that the work I did was not easy for me, but naturally, I just did it. That's the basic background principle of what you're talking about with our country work ethic - if it needs done, do it. And by golly, it needed done, in order for me to earn some incoming. The cost of gas, especially in my truck (2001 F-150), plus everything else, and then coming from a lower-lower-middle class family... I had to start working when I was 13 (not that I had my truck til I was 16, though) --> but as a 13 and then 14 year old I wasn't working for the city; just mowing lawns for some odd, you know. Then when I turned 15 I started working for my city in the summer time. Don't, and didn't really ever get much of a break. From schoolwork to actual work, and back... play didn't get much time. ... 'Specially now that I'm a sophomore in college. Gee whiz, tuition is horrid. And these classes, damn... they're not easy, at all. So, yeah. I've just been living by the ethic of "doing what needs done," and then should there be extra time for other things, go ahead. If not, then there just isn't. --- Heheheh, it just so happens that my avatar has one on. I do believe she does look very, very good in that red bandanna, though, no doubt. Hmmm... I wonder if she looks good in other colors, too? Of course she does! But, obviously, of all the pictures I can search through quickly, the majority in which she is sporting kerchief around her neck, it's red. Oh well. Oddly enough, you caught me at a funny time in saying that about my avatar, because I did plan on a change soon... time will tell how soon, idk...
  11. A mere mention of something that falls in line with the /good/ memories in my past, and cue that song... Oh my God... I just feel... so awesome... *ironic tears of joy* ... The good ol' days, wow, how fun they were.

... Thanks FlutterAether, you just happened to hit my nostalgia bone in the best way possible, seriously ^_^ *hugs*

  12. Thanks fellers --> yah it did take alot of time, and alot of force exertion. It takes alot out of a guy to do it. And especially considering weight (considering my height is 6 foot), it's pretty crazy... Guess'n my natural farmer's build helped me out in the long run. If didn't have that, and if I had narrower shoulders, I doubt I'd have been able to do it. Shoveling asphalt out the back of a ton truck all day long, you gotta be tough enough from the get-go... and then you just build up a better tone as you continue. But, like I said, it's more of an endurance thing. Being outside all day whilst doing that work, repetitively, you can't tire out easily if you want to keep the job. Other things we've done besides patching: Cutting up fallen/downed limbs, some of which so huge we went through two chainsaws before we could get it in the back the truck; mowing/weed-eating/trimming (pretty standard); changing inloader tractor tires (front ones, of course, but still, them things weigh like 100 pounds if not more); some mixed cement work (carrying 80 pound dry bags of mix around sucks); changing truck and tractor oil (standard again); digging out ditches both by hand and then with tractors; cleaning up the streets and painting curbs by hand before the Fulton County Fair (takes a week with a team of like 4-6 guys); and then we also did some sand throwing by hand when the spreader truck wasn't working (shovel --> sand --> baseball/golf style throwing and spreading of sand across streets that were bleeding [tar])... Damn. Looking back at that, I can't help but repeat something I said earlier... "who needs [to lift] weights [when you work like that]". --- Heheh, I've posted this picture before... It's a good one! --- I wonder if this one has ever been previously posted... Love the faded style... It's awesome.
  13. Anyone else around my age remember this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWNwhdDNoqI ??? Wow... I feel... so much from this... *sigh* Those good ol' days, as a young, innocent, naive little boy were golden. And now, here I am, twenty, in college, over my head - overclocking my brain - yet still managing A's and B's... But with a huge side of stress, not to mention homesickness.

  14. Whaaaaat? No no no... Case /not/ closed. Freckles do not always go away. Actually, childhood freckles only "go away" because they tend to fade as you grow older. BUT at the same time, new freckles grow, usually. In my case, that is very true. I have some "faded" childhood freckles, but I have grown new freckles, ironically, not in the same place (not on my face, that is). The new ones were caused by sun damage, mostly. But some just naturally grew. --- Coming from a true country boy, no doubt. I've been working outside since I was a little tike. But those young days were nothing compared to the past 5 summers I worked. Lmao. For the past 5 summers, I've worked for my city. First summer was on the "Water Department" and the latter 4 on the "Street Department" - in essence, there really wasn't much difference besides that my first summer was the easiest, because on the Water Dept. I mostly just helped water flowers 'round town, and also helped with pouring new sidewalks, but still did some of the same work the Street Dept. does. Those last 4 summers though, dang... Talk about endurance. I mean, like, hardcore-to-the-*apples*-core hardcore. How so? Well, lemme tell yuh... You see those potholes in the roads that you try to avoid, yeah? Well, you see, because we're a small town, we try to keep our roads as smooth as we can. And our winter's are just as cold as our summers are hot - we've seen -17*F windchills in the winter, which is what actually causes the potholes, you see; ice gets in the cracks and expands... and then in the summer time, we've seen heat indexes of around 110*F. Well anywho, about those potholes, heh... Yeah, on the Street Dept., we patch those with asphalt patch, and then roll them smooth. Just think. Just think for a moment. About this: our "ton-truck" (which actually is a 3/4 ton truck, since it's an F-350, but it has a Koenig dump-bed, so that we can load the asphalt into to)... it can hold about 4 tons (if not more) - yes, tons ... of asphalt patch per load. And I, a city worker, along with my friend/co-worker, would shovel the patch out of the truck into the holes, one shovel at a time; and our supervisor would rake it out... then we'd have to roll it with the roller (a small one, but still, it's got those heavy metal roller wheels). We patched all summer, basically. Well, provided weather permitting, and if nothing else needed doing with a higher priority (like mowing, weed-eating... or picking up fallen limbs after storms [sometimes so big we'd have to chainsaw it in pieces to get them to fit in the bed of the truck - and holy shnikes, those suckers were heavy)... But yeah, we patched the roads, one shovel at a time. Each day probably getting a good 3 truck loads down. So, take the lesser-minimum 4 tons... times 3. That's 12 tons per day. We worked for ~2+ months. So, 5 weekdays - 4 weeks per month approximately (less the odd days)... 12 tons a day x 5 days = 60 tons per week. Say, maybe 12 weeks of working... so 12 times 60 = 720. So, approximately (to round to a nicer number, and to compensate the off chance we did 4 loads a day a couple times instead of 3)... let's say that it's 725 tons per summer. 4 Summers of patching (not including any patching I may have partook whilst on the Water Dept. my first summer)... So, 4 summers, then... times 725 tons per one summer... Is 2900 tons. I guess, if you wanted to round up from 2900 to 3000 for the sake of it, and for the fact that we did sometimes put down 4 loads and not 3... Approximately 3000 tons. Of asphalt patch. Shoveled out of the back of the pickup, one... shovel... at... a... time. In the heat of Illinois' summer, ranging from some slightly chilly mornings around 55*F to some hardcore afternoon heat indexes over 100*F... You could say that... endurance... does not even begin to describe how much it took to be a city worker. Eeyup. If you ever doubted me (which, I'd hope not, and I never did think you did)... 'Least now you know... I am one tough country-boy. I may not lift weights. But, after shoveling around 3000 tons of patch over the past several summers... Who needs weights. All natural. Pure country. Damn tough. I don't get knocked down; and even though since I'm a sensitive guy and I know I wouldn't knock anyone down without a darn-good reason; if it came down to it... Even though I'm 6 foot and 170 pounds... This bull's will is not to be reckoned with. But again. I wouldn't. So don't think of me mean. I'm very loving and caring. It's just that I've been through alot and... well... yeah - alot. Heh. So yeah, freckles... lol. The sun will do that, even sporting SPF 50+ sunscreen. --- I must apologize, for, usually I'm humble despite my honesty. But, I was a bit blunt there. Sorry folks. Y'all know I love yuhs! --- Oh yeah, guess I should probably post something with AJ, lol: I feel this follows my rant... Ah, a good ol' nap after a hard day's work.
  15. From ^that^ to this: Because I had to shave... lol. Had a dinner with some State Farm Representatives at my college (with a select few other students) so we could talk about a possible internship next summer. I gave'em my resume, applied for a position... and now await for their response. It'll be soon, too; the interview will be Friday - if I get chosen. Me hopes! But oh my gosh, what a difference from that pic of me in my self-quote to the now-shaven me it's crazy, I know!
  16. Welp, I'd ought to be heading to bed, considering a alot of things... I have class at 10, for one... for two, I have a 750 word technical paper to write that I haven't started... and for three, I have a dinner for a possible internship with State Farm @ 4:30 tomorrow... and lastly, I'm slap-happy tired, so sleep would do me well. Here's hoping all goes well. *sigh* G'night folks.

Chance for redemption! Here's a much easier one for you:

The problem with oil is that it A. is too thin when hot; B. is too thick when cold? Yep, two options. Only one is true when the correct grade is used (and really no matter what grade is used, from 0w-20 to 20w-50).

    4. Miles

      Miles

***in standard circumstances, that is - that only one is true. Both can be true, (even when correct grade is used) under heavy operating conditions such as track use (racing) - but racing is not standard circumstances. This should be a hint to help you, actually, choose the correct answer for standard circumstances.

  18. Yessir; and different bores for different cores ... What is it with me and car jokes, lmao... smh. (Bore and Stroke... compression ratio... *sigh* this won't be the last of them jokes, I wouldn't doubt, hehehe) :comeatus: ... --- I hope this'n hasn't yet been posted, but... here's another beauty for y'all ... There's nopony else out there with the kind of persistence and love that you have. You can pull through this; I know you can. Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs Become Lions ;-)

  21. *Sigh* I would take this and mingle it into a gearhead joke. And her favorite is the... Powerstroke... hahaha; oh silly me, and my vehicular knowledge. Even though I don't drive a Powerstroke, lol; my truck's a gasser - it's the 5.4L Triton V8. --- Lol, vehicle jokes aside... I think everyone here'd enjoy a few strokes ...
