They're not canon (except for minotaurs), but they're used in lots of fanfics. I really like that map btw, but it's really old. You could tweak it in your own image a bit if you so desire. You could even add nations for additional races in the blank parts of that map. An Egyptian themed nation for Sphinxes would also be nice.

Try coming up with OCs that are non-ponies, like griffons, zebras, deer, kirins, minotaurs, as well as nagas and satyrs (make those as less human as possible).

While ignoring the actual show, what's your ideal kind of fanmade MLP story, particularly from a fic? It could be sad, comedy, dark, romance, slice of life, or adventure. For me, I really like a story that can have all of that. It could be an adventure that has a fair share of cute, funny, feels-y, dark, and action-packed moments, and can have scenes that would be considered dramatic, epic, heartfelt, and even really violent moments. You ever seen all those projects of things like mega structures that we probably won't see in over a hundred years? Pretty much to that level. We are, but I just thought I'd share mine since others were sharing theirs in general.

Just so we are clear, I'm talking about projects about worlds with ponies in them, hence the tag "MLP-inspired". But still, it's cool people have tried worldbuilding. While mine isn't necessarily pony-related, it's actually inhabited by anthropomorphic animals (or 'furries' for lack of a better term). The world they live in is like ours, but slightly more advanced. The sapient population has a widely diverse range of species, such as different mammals (canines, felines, rabbits, rodents, bovids, equines, deer, mustelids, marsupials, bats, bears, seals, primates, cetaceans, etc), reptiles (lizards, crocs, snakes, turtles, etc), birds (sparrows, ravens, gulls, chickens, ducks, eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, etc), amphibians, sharks, and (still ambiguous on this) insects. That's not all though, there are also man extinct and prehistoric animals, such as Pleistocene megafauna, dinosaurs (theropods, sauropods, stegosaurs, ankylosaurs, ceratopsians, and ornithopods) pterosaurs, marine reptiles (plesiosaurs, ichthyosaurs, pliosaurs, etc), and synapsids. It doesn't end there either, there are also some legendary species that inhabit the world, such as dragons (westerns, easterns, wyverns, quetzacoatls, etc), griffons, phoenixes, kitsunes, unicorns, jackalopes, etc.

Oh do tell, I'm sure you have lots planned for it. Will there be many different races as well as a widely varied world?

Agreed, but I am fairly certain that parts of the fandom are capable of coming up with such concepts, and very ambitious ones too.

I'm wondering if anyone knows any worldbuilding projects that aren't actually involved with MLP, but are inspired by it? The best example I can think of right now is Eponia, basically anything that involves equinoids, griffons, dragons, etc as part of the main population.

Grogar is probably the only G1 villain that should return. For an original villain, I'd like to see a dragon.

Depends how the show's style looks, but if it's more like FiM's then no. Having that, I wouldn't really leave the fandom if it had darker and more action-y elements, but I'd prefer all that to be in the movies. I'd rather the show itself be comedy and slice of life, but still have adventure stuff too.

So, is this "5 year extension" actually going to happen or has that all changed now?

Then that's clearly where MLP should go. I believe Hulu would be a good option.

Is MLP really gonna be on CN? I tried finding a source, but to no avail. If that's really the case, should we really be worried about it?

As some of you may know, the development for Journey of the Spark his officially ben terminated. However, it's now being turned into an audio drama. While some audio dramas may exist, there aren't that many. The only ones that are probably the most well known, are the Doctor Whooves stuff, The Heroic Tale of Heroically Heroic Heroes, and of course, Fallout Equestria. So far I've heard both episodes of the FE audio drama, and I'm quite interested. I think it would be awesome if that on top of having fics, comics, and animations, we'd also have a boom in audio dramas as a new major media format in the fandom.

People may be excited for FiM going to another channel like CN, but the long term issue is that Hasbro no longer has the power to keep the show alive, so it's now at the mercy of another network. At least the writers at DHX still have creative control.

If an MLP movie (not Equestria Girls) were to come out, what do you think the plot should be? I'd say it could be about a dragon emperor who returns hundreds of years after his defeat by Equestria. He then returns to get his revenge and destroy all of Equestria.

Do you think the show should have an anti-hero character? What kind of anti-hero should he or she be?

Hmm, an anti-hero would be a great thing for the show. A vilgilante character perhaps?

Well I'm not talking about actual villains, just antagonists that appear in the middle of a season.

If the entire voice cast for FiM got replaced and the characters are instead being voiced by all-star Hollywood actors, and did the voices for all the characters, including the mane 6, supporting characters, antagonists, and villains, who might they be?

Since we've been having ideas for villains, how about ideas for antagonists? I'm talking about characters like Gilda, Trixie, Diamond Dogs, Flim Flam brothers, and Iron Will. I'd have an antagonist who's actually a G1 character, which would be Bray. In FiM he would be Cranky Doodle Donkey's long lost nephew. He comes to Ponyville and finds Cranky. They basically have a lot of issues with each other. He also meets the ponies, and of course gives them a really hard time.
