I had recently learned that when Jananimations was C&D'd, it wasn't Hasbro themselves who did it, but was their legal department. Hasbro didn't even know that the C&D took place until Jan came in contact with them. The lawyers C&D'd him because they thought that his work was the original show, yet instead of doing some research, they just go and flat out put the hammer down on him. This is a huge problem on Hasbro's part because they should be notified BEFORE their lawyers pull such a claim. It makes me wonder if that there are many other C&D's that have been done that Hasbro didn't know about. I'm sure most of their claims are just simply frivolous and bogus. Hasbro needs to do something about this matter because this is exactly what's hurting the fanbase, filing out C&D's when they have little or no reason to. I understand there are some C&D's that are justifiable when creators are making money off MLP related things or not crediting their original owners, but all these over petty reasons has got to stuff. Looking like the actual show is not a good reason for a C&D because it's THEIR fault for not investigating to verify that it's just a fan-created work, and made for free at that. It seems that there's a lot of incompetence going on in this firm, because they are so hellbent on shutting down fanworks for the wrong reasons.

I skip past the songs on MLP, anybody else do the same?

It would be perfectly ok for something to be taken down only if the following: They're making money off it, claiming the IP as their own, and/or using the leaked animation puppets when doing animations. Other than that, there's no reason for the fanwork to get a C&D, they'd just be using copyright as an excuse. Having to just ask Hasbro for permission to make everything related to MLP (or any of Hasbro's properties) is totally asinine. That's just how I personally see it.

The other day I saw the trailer for Duo Cartoonist's upcoming animation, midnight mares. Unlike their last animation, Children of the Night, this one has nothing to do with MLP, but still has ponies. I think it's come to a point now when original pony settings are becoming more frequent. Another good example would be Eponia on Deviantart.Making such a thing may not be an easy feat, but it's probably the safest way to get by copyright, especially when you already love ponies to begin with. What's even better, you could pretty much get away with making FIM-quality animations based on such settings, as long as it doesn't have anything affiliated with the show, such as the characters. I'm sure people like Jananimations wouldn't have a problem with it, just don't have any of the characters and whatever involved in your animations.

Which episode of MLP:FiM was your first?

I think it would be a good idea that once the show ends, the comics could keep going. It would be a great way to expand the show's universe. The Sonic the Hedgehog comics are a good example of this. 20 years after SatAm got cancelled, the Sonic the Hedgehog comics by archie (which was more of a tie-in of the show) are still running. I think it would be awesome if the same happened with the FIM comics.
