Yeah, was not expecting that they'd ever appear in official media again, though I guess the MLP Gameloft game still has an active playerbase. I pretty much came back to playing it thanks to this update. Either way, seeing them get more attention is always nice!

My first thought using the system yesterday, with all the bloat and opt-out/hidden telemetry stuff. In fact that's kind of how I caused the breakage as apparently I needed the Microsoft Store to run Canvas, an infinite canvas app I plan on using in the early stages of ideas I have for animations and fanart. Haven't found an open source alternative of that app that fits my specific use case unfortunately. Managed to get that 'fixed', but I do not like how store apps are not independent from the store itself.

Unrelated but I don't think I'll ever get used to the new Start menu.

Wasn't even aware of the "improved" print screen. Tried it now and it feels like they tried to copy ShareX without thinking about what made that program work so well. Not sure I'll ever need the new Window snapping. Didn't mind the original snap in Windows 7, but this extended version of it feels like it should be optional.

Yeah. I remember when I was hyped for Windows 11 back when that leaked beta came out. Granted, much of that hype was superficial as I seemed to only care about the new. frosted glass, possibly copying KDE and MacOS a bit theme. Then stuff like the TPM requirement and Microsoft's usual shenanigans happened.

And yeah, actually using the system, I have noticed its a little bit less stable than 10 was in some areas. Some programs take longer to load, there is a noticeable lag at times, and if you turn the File Explorer shortcut on and try to launch it in Start, it will throw an error saying the application isn't found. Does not happen when launching the explorer from your documents, downloads or home folder though. :/

I hoped for Windows 7 2.0 and instead, Windows 11 feels like the worst aspects of 10 have been doubled down on.

While I have been enjoying G5 more recently, and while there is definitely a level of convenience and stress reduction (no need for me to stay up late thanks to time zone differences) to the way the episodes are released on Netflix and YouTube respectively, the days when we'd be hyping up new episodes of FiM unfortunately went away with it.

I've recently returned here too, just felt absolutely burnt out on mainstream social media sites in recent months, you should see how often I end up going on YouTube only to click the "don't recommend channel" button over and over again, very much interested in coming to forums like this to spend my time, as well as practicing art and such.

Oh, yeah, I saw Rammy Junior Painter's Lighthoof and Shimmy Shake art! He also did individual pictures of them both as well. A part of me kinda wants to see them again in his new style.

I ended up creating a fanclub for them and it just got approved!

I won't lie, I was thinking of that. Did end up settling for making a post in the Background Ponies Appreciation Club though since they had previously been mentioned there.

Humanized versions of them have been done before, I've even seen style accurate versions of them as Equestria Girls characters, which look kinda convincing imo, though I don't plan on drawing them in the EQG style as I'd like to figure out my own style.

Lighthoof and Shimmy Shake are honestly so underrated I swear! I always end up wishing there was more fanart of them whenever I check Derpibooru (I plan on drawing humanized versions of them both, will technically be the second time I drew humanized fanart of Lighthoof though, wasn't happy with my deleted first attempt). Shame they ended up in a generally poorly received (except for them almost exclusively) episode on the last season, without any appearance before or after.

But yeah, Lighthoof quickly became my favourite of the two, I'm a sucker for long maned earth ponies, and she's got a mostly blue colour scheme, not to mention kinda cute. In some ways, Lighthoof and Shimmy Shake also kinda remind me of Rarity, in that they've got traits that in any other show would be depicted negatively, but here its more positive, and whether or not your into sport, you gotta appreciate their passion for cheerleading.

Yeah, just like everyone else in the world, I kinda ended up majorly drifting to the few major sites - YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, Discord, etc... and as much as I hate to say it now, forgot about the rest of the internet, especially in the period between FiM and G5.

For me anyway, it seems that drift peaked in 2022 and I'm starting to go on more regular walks these days, getting back into drawing, as well as revisiting communities like this. Adult me clearly wants to be doing more actual hobbies rather than just doomscrolling all day it seems.

I do find it interesting to hear the forums getting more active now, I wonder if its for similar reasons to what I just mentioned...

I'm admittedly still more into G4, but do hope that I can enjoy G5 more as the series goes, since I do want to like the series more than I currently do.

@Tacodidra Hello again! Yeah, I'm definitely not as active here as I used to be, though I will admit I do miss online forums in general. Did not expect to make even the slightest update to my profile though.

If you get the chance you should definitely rewatch FiM. The series really does hold up, honestly!

I guess its just that seeing the finale once again must've reminded me of how admittedly nervous I was about what would happen to the fandom afterwards, not to mention FiM being such a major part of my youth, and all the memories attached to it, and how seeing the series end so shortly after my early adutlhood began felt like I was also moving on from that phase of my life and on to the next.

Played a bit of Minecraft for the first time as part of Quantum SEAPonyCon last year. Hope to play more Minecraft since I really enjoy the game! ^^

As much as I'm not a fan of CGI, what's been shown so far doesn't look that bad, certainly better than I was expecting, save for eyes looking uncanny.

And yeah, I think the series itself will still be 2D, just the movie.

Off topic, but honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing attempts at more stylized CGI in animated movies. I understand its expensive, but I think it tends to look better.

@Flutterstep you should. Just note that its more of a chatroom than a "game" at the moment, and its still in alpha. A few members here, including Lucky Bolt and Victoria Sponge/Battenberg also have accounts there. Probably more but they're the only two people besides me that I remember seeing there.
