  1. Why do some bronies have a persecution complex? Because they're teenagers. It's as simple as that. Teenagers can be remarkably stupid when it comes to the routes they'll take in order to get attention or feel unique, and being "persecuted" is very popular nowadays. Only makes sense some bronies will turn liking a television show into a huge identity crisis.
  2. I would like to think there was even a smidge of sarcasm in this. Sadly, I don't think there is. This is so pathetic is makes me cringe to enjoy the same show as so many self proclaimed bronies.
  3. I say "I like My Little Pony." They ask, "Oh, are you a brony?" I say, "No." That's the stupidest question I recieve. I refuse to be labled with all the hateful, ridiculous, creepy, rude and immature actions the brony community is capable of that I've yet to encounter in the fandom as a whole from the older generations.
  4. I LIKE the Seapony song What is the point of this thread other than to diss various aspects of the shows that other people like and are made to feel like a complete weirdo for wanting to defend all the so called "garbage of horrors" of the previous gens?
  5. Steering the subject from creepyness... I confess that I'll probably never be able to draw cute ponies. For me, these type of ponies look best with big eyes. And I've spent the last few years trying to get OUT of the habit of drawing big animu eyes that when I attempt to draw them for my ponies, they just look really stupid and overly cartoonish. I keep practicing, but I don't want to slip back into drawing stupidly huge eyes for my people, which are more important to me. Oh well. Humanized ponies it is for me I suppose.
  6. Her having red eyes was actually one of the very few fanon-pony quirks I had actually liked, so I'm a little bummed we now know otherwise. Not going to argue with canon though, purple is still very pretty and matches her color scheme quite well
  7. More numerous? Fact. More cute? Not fact. Just your opinion.
  8. It's amusing to me as my older sister, who isn't half as much into ponies as I am, actually noticed it when Twilight said "everyone" and "everybody" way before I did. When she asked me about it, I was like, 'Uhh...I didn't even notice ". Goes to show how observant I can be! But I still don't put much thought into it, I seriously doubt the writers did anyway.
  9. Quite sad seeing as the other two are constantly at war in my head to win the place of best pony. It astounds me they're the least favored of the 6 Oh well, more for me!
  10. You mean, if it was the same show as MLP but with centaurs instead? No. Probably not. One of the biggest draws for me about the ponies is the simple fact that they are ponies. I can distance them enough form myself as a human and that is what makes them so enjoyable. If I wanted to watch half naked, super thin, gorgeous, female fairy-tale beasts then I probably would be already. But call me crazy, that aesthetic is something I can live without on occasion. Ponies aren't there to remind me how inferior I am on all accounts for not being an idealistic, modelesque woman, they're there to remind me that there are cute things in this world and that no matter what you look like, we can still all be accepted for who and what we are.
  11. That's not a flattering picture of the Sea Ponies since they're singing and their mouths are puckered-they really are quite cute. I'm not personally crazy over them like some MLP fans since I'm not much into aquatic creatures as a whole, but I do think they're still pretty cute and would be quite interested in seeing them in FiM. Especially if they sang! Shoo-be-doop! ...Okay, enough of that. But I DO really want to see Flutter Ponies. Like, crossing my fingers and hoping and praying. They even have a Queen of their own (Rosedust)! How does Princess Celestia not know her! I was so sad when I first started watching FiM to see the beautiful Flutters had been left out (and no, the Glimmer Wing brushable toys do not count as Flutters)
  12. Absolutely brushables for me. I love brushing their hair, it's soothing and gives me a chance to "play" with my ponies. My fixed hair ponies just kind of...sit there, and I don't like how it makes them look even more plastic-like and lifeless. At least with the brushables it gives them a sort of individuality, which I like. It doesn't bother me if the hair isn't 100% show accurate. My ponies have personality, they're not carbon copies of the show
  13. I would have to be Pinkie Pie's younger sister. Even though we only saw her other siblings for a moment, I am quite a bit like them as I'm not naturally upbeat and happy. Yet she was determined to make them smile, as she is for everyone, that's all she desires. She doesn't need someone to be absolutely the best like RD or Rarity, or the smartest like Twilight would probably expect. Yet she is absolutely fearless when it comes to defending those she cares about (as she did for Rarity in theepisodethatmustnotbenamed), unlike Fluttershy. I felt like AppleJack was was a close second, but on second thought, she's so headstrong and a bit too proud that I'd feel she may have a difficult time being around a sibling who wasn't always as gung-ho and active as she is. Pinkie seems more flexible, willing to change whatever needs to be changed in order to make the one's she's with happy, because that's what makes her happy. It's weird to choose the pony most opposite from me as my 'sister', but I think it works best.
  14. "Most likely" intentional? Seriously? I really hope some of ya'll aren't really that callow.
  15. I think it's so odd that AppleJack isn't a top favorite She's always been top two for me (tie between her and Rarity), and I guess in my naivety I'd always assumed she was highly favored. She has a lot of common with RD (who is clearly a favorite among bronies) as she's higly athletic, very competitie, and can think a little bit too much of herself before having to remind herself to be modest. Plus she's got the added bonus of being family oriented, which is undeniably awesome. Oh, and she kicks major butt without the aid of magic or wings, which I think also adds to her major cool points. But I guess her "normalness" among the bronies just goes to show that a lot of guys really don't go for the girl-next-door types. Shame.
  16. That's one of my top favorite ships Along with Rarity x Big Mac, Fluttershy x Thunder Lane, and Twilight x Star Gazer
  17. Thunder Lane. No doubt about it. And Rarity. And Lemon Hearts. And ponywhomustnotbenamed from Hurricane Fluttershy with the constellation cutie mark.
  18. Whenever my dad sees me watching FiM, he starts singing the old theme song from the G1 MLP I used to watch when I was little. It's awesome When we babysit my 2 year old cousin, if it happens to be on I'll switch the the tv to MLP for her to watch. My mom rolls her eyes and likely thinks Pinkie is too weird, but she'll keep watching even after my cousin is down for her nap I know she'll never go out of her way to watch it or anything, but she humors me and buys me ponies on occasion, so still awesome.
  19. Wrong? You make it sound like it's a sin or a crime. Shipping is simply folks who enjoy taking characters and exploring them with their own imaginations. It's like when little kids take toys from their favorite show and imagine those characters going on wild and crazy adventures. Buzz Lightyear and Spongebob probably aren't ever going to ride a train to Mickey's clubhouse, but try telling that to my 5 year old cousin who just wants to play with his favorite characters in however he finds enjoyable. Is he "wrong" now? No. He's playing. And ultimately, shipping ponies (or any characters from any tv show, movie, book, etc.) is just that, playing.
  20. How cute! I love the babies Does your friend happen to post on the board, or another forum more inclusive of the other gens?
  21. Oh, I have no idea...I got a lot of blind bag ponies for my birthday and last Christmas (the TRU collection), a couple of my brushables were aso gifts though I purchased the rest/traded some, and my DvD, calender, and coloring book were from last Christmas as well (wow, I forgot about including a lot of this before...it's really not as much as it sounds), and I completely forgot to think about including the McD costs, though only a couple of times did I actually buy a meal as opposed to just asking for the toys themselves. Maybe around $50? Oh wait, my RD card holder...so maybe closer to $60? Hard to say, I don't like any of the MLP shirts or plushies so I tend to spend in much smaller increments. (and I'm not including the $20 wooden castle I got for my ponies to live in since it's not official MLP merchandise ;P )
  22. Fluttershy's far from my favorite pony but I thought her filly version was adorable. Yes, she looked a bit tall and gangly, but guess what guys? Sometimes people ARE tall and gangly even when they're very young and haven't hit puberty ye, so why not ponies? It's no secret that Fluttershy can be awkward, and it makes perfect sense her being self conscious about being so much taller and thinner than the rest of the ponies, as it would cause her to stand out even more (she already does what with hating to fly) and cause her even more anxiety about being around other ponies. Not everyone gets to be cookie cutter cute when they're young.
  23. Ugh, I would be seriously disappointed if they added a 7th pony to the group. Maybe if it was a new older or younger pony that frequently popped up (like the CMCs, Zecora, Granny Smith, etc.) with a new perspective and lessons to teach/learn, that would probably be pretty interesting. But an actual new pony to the mane 6? I doubt they would do it anyway. Twilight is still a newbie to this whole 'friendship' thing, what would be the point in adding in a new pony learning the same thing, or who already had friends, like the other 5?
  24. One secret: I dislike it immensely and get super annoyed when people claim they thought RD or Scootaloo was originally a boy. Cause girls can't be badass athletes, have deeper voices or not always want to hug and sing all the time. So of course they must be boys. Duh.
