No offense but this is really difficult to understand.

I think it's a stupid way of creating artificial scarcity on one hand, and on the other a nice way of keeping stupid hats like the potassium bonnet out of most peoples' inventories

The removal of Valve servers was probably the only negative change, and even if MYM was a failure on launch, casual still works fine for me and community servers still exist. You can keep your bitter attitude if you want, but the game is perfectly fine as it is now. The fact that it's a little less convenient to try and find a server doesn't change that.

I get sick of hearing about how Valve stopped caring about TF2, when there are only 2 people left on TF2's development team out of the original *15*. Valve isn't going to allocate any resources to TF2 unless the devs specifically ask for it. I also get sick of hearing people complain about TF2's balance when 90% of them think pyro is too strong even though scout is strictly better and soldier mains are less fun to play against. I had this bitter attitude toward back in 2012 when they were releasing a never ending stream of cosmetics, when MTP and MVM came out and were both massive disappointments, when there were several bugs and balance issues that went months, even years with no fixes. Now that the TF team is actually doing something with the game, that bitter attitude is gone. You can imagine how miffed I get when people bring that same attitude back where it clearly is not needed. The game hasn't changed, you have.

usually it's either because a friend wanted to play with me or i just wanted to kill boredom and had nothing better to do 200 hours isn't much to spend on a game when i've owned it for over a year, i spent 200 hours playing fallout new vegas over the period of like a month

Good multiplayer games have at least a few hundred hours of replay value, I've spent ~500 over every CoD title, ~2000 on TF2, and over 10k on Runescape.

Overwatch, because I couldn't find a single moment of enjoyment in it after a good 1 or 2 hundred hours

100% this Dead Money is rewarding as fuck, Old World Blues has amazing character design and dialogue, and the ending to Lonesome Road made me cry Fuck Honest Hearts though, that DLC was hot garbage and it adds basically nothing to the game.

I know what Overwatch is, and it's just similar enough to TF2 to be in my market, but the appeal is not there at all. There's nothing I get out of Overwatch that I don't already get out of TF2, and more. And way to make baseless assumptions I guess? I haven't said anything that would indicate I hate the Overwatch community. I have no opinion of the Overwatch community, but the worst part of the TF2 community that I consistently witness is that people still think ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) is funny. And I've been saying since 2012 that TF2 was dying and that Valve should just quit while they're ahead and make TF3, but then they started pushing out bugfixes and balance changes and have done plenty to show that they still care about the game. They've fucked up on a lot of recent updates like Tough Break and MYM, and release their updates on Valve time, but TF2 is absolutely not dying and Valve is still clearly putting forth the effort. Player numbers are consistent, and will stay that way as long as the pyro update is good. boosted :^)

I can't really name many bad games off the top of my head since bad games usually don't leave on an impression on me. One that HAS left a negative impression on me, though, is Overwatch. I know people love to say it's not comparable to TF2, and if any of you out there want to try to argue that with me you wouldn't be the first and won't be the last. It feels like a disgusting, watered down TF2 stripped of everything that made TF2 fun in the first place.

Metal, but I have a taste for everything as long as it's good
