It seemed fine at first, outside of a few baffling issues like some characters who obviously shouldn't be in the narrative at all, the lack of continuity between this arc and pre-established comics, a particular common trope being abused, etc. And then, post #35, it starts to fall apart, in a bad way. As spoiler free as I can make, it read a bit like a terrible self-insert fanfiction from then on, and I wasn't impressed.

1. The episodes' been done already. Spike once again has doubts about being useful/ a pivotal part of the team.

2. Gratuitous Spike abuse, but not like you can have a Spike centered episode without him making a massive fool of himself

3. The "supporting cast" is once again made useless so Spike can have the spotlight. The Mane Six and the princesses are plot contrived into damsels in distress so Spike can ex machina his way to success.

Also, both Simpsons and Family Guy have become more washed out than Techno. But Simpsons, at least, doesn't leave me wanting to vomit every time I finish an episode.

It's kind of a curse you have to expect by now. Aside from Rainbow Dash and maybe Fluttershy(depends on how you see PYHD), all of the Mane Six's worst appearances have been when they were presented as background characters. For Spike(depending on how you view EG), all of his worst appearances have been when he's in the spotlight. It's the support role where he shines, though, as we've seen in RotCE, and now, EQG/2. Support Spike is amazing... Except Boast Busters.
