  1. Bumpity-bump! Still here, and open for business! Aww, I never responded to this. Sorry. ...Of course i'll take him! Also, Storm Strong and Soring Sky, for those of y'all who posted earlier. Need a bit of a touch-up, but the basic idea is there. https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/strong-storm-r9643 https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/sky-soring-r9608
  2. Strong Storm
  3. @J.R. "Do not go out there yourself, Nurse Nadelle. For the same reason i'm not, no matter how much I want to; we're the only ones that have the relevant information that we need in order to fight this disease. Without us, the city of Bangcolt goes down under a panic, and a possible plague. I need you out of harm's way; close by, or at least within range of contact. She turned, and began walking towards the exit of the hospital. "I'm leaving now." ------- @J.R. "Yeah; we're about to head there now, actually." A single spark of magic leapt readily from Sunset Shimmer's horn onto the ground. "I can teleport us there." "Or we can just take a portal." Ivory Star's own horn glowed, and she made a slash in the air, a large purple scar opening up there moments after. "It leads directly there, and it's much less stamina burning then teleportation. "Uhh..." Sunset Shimmer walked over the portal and inspected it, looking at it strangely. "Is it-" "Safe? Yeah. I do this all of the time." "...Okay..." Sunset Shimmer took a deep breath. "Steel your nerves, girl." Without much more deliberating, she stepped through the portal, and disappeared. ------ @Tacoma Talon chuckled heartily in a light state of mirth; he liked this ponies attitude. "Back in my day, they used to eat your kind. The rules are a bit tighter now, but i'd watch your step, hmm?" He raised a single eyebrow. Luna rolled her eyes. "Talon..." "Yes, yes." Talon muttered to himself as he as he crawled around Luna's side, short-hopping to the bed in a single motion. He laid a claw on Night Tracer, concentrating. "Hmm..."
  4. "Uhh..." The stallion made a face as he angled his hoof, trying to pin a proper direction down. "The guard quarters are in... that direction." He stopped his hoof en pointe, a little off to the east of himself. "It's at the very north of the city, in the upper echelons. A small, brown, pretty old looking building, but not very hard to miss... there's not much out there, to be honest." The stallion shrugged. "I'm not sure either." Nurse Redheart sighed, for what felt like too many times today. I'd go myself, but I need to be in the library, researching this cure, and the disease. Which means we need to find someone who'd be willing to go through the task." Nurse Redheart slipped her coat on, an old brown heavily worn thing, then turned back to Nurse Nadelle. "Send out flyers, asking anyone if they'd be willing to help with the task. But keep it subtle, and try not to mention the disease. And if you absolutely have to, state only the parts which are absolutely necessary. We don't want to start any panics over this." She looked back at Nurse Nadelle once again, eyes focused. "Understood?" "Training arena?" Sunset Shimmer blinked openly, confused by the word. "No... we're throwing down in the actual arena. You know... that place where ponies go to knock each other into unconsciousness?" "I'll try to be nice," Ivory Star snarked at her. "Hold back a little so you don't-" "Not a chance," Sunset Shimmer smirked back, before whipping her head back to John. "But yes, we're throwing down, for real. I recommend sitting in the back seats for when that happens, to be honest; it's going to be like nothing you've seen here yet." @Unicorncob Terra headed straight down through the center of the town, the snow's sharp crunching beneath her feet only adding to the overall hollow effect that the place was giving off. She kept her head forward, acting natural, avoiding meeting any of the other unicorns eyes directly. She didn't want to risk drawing too much attention. Suddenly, at a path in the road indeterminable from any other due to the snow, she broke a hard right, heading for a particular building. Taller than any of the others, it rose slightly off of the ground, and even had a platform, and small porch. Smoke drifted off into the air from a small chimney, as clear as the clouds settled up in the sky... "...Charming." Talon shot Night Tracer a look flatter than a newly minted rug as he stared at him. He looked him up and down, measuring every inch of the stallion's posture, attitude, and behavior. When he was finished, he simply looked back to Luna. "He certainly seems a lot more durable, than the other ones..." "-This is Talon. He's an old friend." Luna was quick to interject between the two, knowing that her "old friend" could be a bit abrasive, at the best of time. "And we apologize for waking you up. We merely needed to determine if you had been put under any magical influence as of late. To confirm the final piece of your story."
  5. That's awesome! ...Geez, it seems unusually empty in here.
  6. @The Down Trotten "No." Terra looked over at Rhetoric, then back to Starlight. "Timewise, I have to have existed before my memories begin. Timewise, it isn't feasible that I would simply pop into existence as I am, at that single moment. There has to be more." Terra finally strode into the limits of the town, looking around. It seemed barely inhabited. Ancient wooden one room fixtures that look like they'd been built years ago lay haphazardly all over the town, buried in snow, and looking like they could fall apart at any moment. Very few ponies could be seen, and the ones that did regarded the strangers with careful, suspicious eyes. Passing quickly by them, without saying a word... ------- @J.R. "You should know by now I hardly care, Nurse Nadelle. As it has been, it will always the Nurse's motto: the patients come first." Nurse Redheart looked over at Nurse Nadelle, eyes intensely serious. "And i'm going to need everything that you have, in order to beat this thing." ------- @J.R. "No, that's it," Sunset Shimmer nodded. "Personally, I think we're fine," Ivory Star added. "Right after this, we were just going to go throw down against each other in the arena. You can come watch if you want." Sunset Shimmer nodded once again in agreement. "I haven't been here for that long, but I haven't forgotten my skills. It's definetely going to be something interesting, i'll tell you that." ------- @Hazard Time "There... was an incident," the stallion recalled, one hoof up in a thought. "Before the last receptionist left, she mentioned something about some guards that had entered in in a panic, scared to death. Babbling something about a mare, a stallion that had been chasing her, and an undead alicorn." The stallion shrugged. "But that couldn't possibly be real, right? Just a group of guards having a bad drinking session, i'll bet." ------- @Orion Caelum Anette gave a small, playful smile. "Something a bit lighter next time, then?" Her face quickly turned into one of thought, as she recalled a strange and rather interesting time. "There was... an actual pirate, really. Called himself Brownbeard, because apparently Red and Black were taken. Anyways, no one actually knows how or why he was doing it, but apparently, he had somehow managed to acquire a boat, a set of surly comrades and a large stock of gunpowder, and was using it to terrorize the Manehatten Bay. Local millitia was powerless against him, or felt sorry for him, one or the other. Either way, no one was making a move, and no one would exit the bay. Enter me and Sleight Mist, two ponies walking into the situation. Sleight Mist caught wind of the problem pretty quickly, and volunteered to get rid of the pirates, for a price, of course. The town agreed, and of course, this was one of the few times Sleight Mist allowed me to go along. Actually, I pressured her," Anette admitted, with a small smirk. "So we go to stop this roving band of new age pirates..." She leaned forward suspensefully. "And then it gets crazy."
  7. @J.R. "...Thank you." Nurse Redheart breathed a sigh as she looked down at her cup; stress was really starting to wear off on her. Maybe this drink would help cool her nerves. She took a sip. "...Just how I like it. Another job well done, Nurse Nadelle." She stopped, and breathed another sigh; she wouldn't be able to enjoy the effects of this coffee as much as she wanted to. Work to do. "...Symptoms." ------- @J.R. "Nah. We were just finishing a talk, when you showed up," Sunset replied, looking back over to Ivory Star. "Right?" "Right." Ivory Star turned around, facing Ice Blizzard. "It's fine. I wasn't really in my right mind at the time. I had a few problems going on, and I sort of used you as license to exacerbate them. I'm sorry, myself..." ------- @Tacoma Within less than a minute of the magic being sent out, a small golden form shot its way into the room. Darting for Luna's leg, it curled up it in a serpentine motion, before finding purchase on her back. The tiny wyvern stared first at her, then at the pony sleeping in her bed. It gave a huff. "So this is the new stallion, eh?" The wyvern gave another dismissive huff, this one accompanied by golden flames. "He looks slimer than seven hydras. Long ago was the days you picked quality Luna. Long ago..." "Hush," Luna hissed, in a sharp warning. "That's not what I brought you here for." She strolled over to Night Tracer's side. "Tell me if you can sense any foreign energies about him..." ------- @The Down Trotten Terra looked ahead at the small, wood and stone based village covered in drifts of snow, and then back to Rhetoric. "This date is approximately a few days before I first arrived at this village. Before I was first "born." She began to walk once again, nearing its outer limits; hard to tell, under the amount of snow that had been deposited. "If there was an event that led to my birth here, or my memories being lost, then we are at the prime position to find it." ------- @Hazard Time "Ummm..." The receptionist behind the desk, a brown unicorn with a pen and quill cutie mark, blinked to himself. Pulling up the tournament sheet with his magic, he leafed through it. "...Nothing here. And I was just switched in for duty within the last hour, so I can't say that i've seen her around, either..."

  12. @reader8363 Temperance looked over at "Shadow Beast" with light annoyance, but also with light interest; the name at least seemed to foretell that he might be something entertaining. "I'm not most ponies. Definetely not most ponies. And the name's Temperance." From the side, she looked him up and down. "So... Shadow Beast. Why the name?" ---------- Twilight shot a casual glance over at Rainbow Dash, more than used to her friends antics by now. "Oh, Rainbow Dash? Yeah..." She gave a half-hearted, dismssive shrug. "Don't mind her. Just like Applejack, she means well most of the time. Just catch her outside of a competitive light, and you to would probably be the best of friends." She sighed, muttering under her breath. "This is not the place for that, though..."
  13. That looks absolutely amazing. Beautiful. :-o I have to ask; can I request another picture from you here, if you happen to have a slot open?
  14. @J.R. Nurse Redheart stopped once again to look back at Nurse Nadelle. She took a deep breath. "...Coffee, please. And those symptoms. Whatever you have for a cure. I'll be heading off to Bangcolt's library shortly. If we don't have any way idea what this is, then at least we can learn all that we can about it. I'll be leaving you in charge." Her eyes were full of concern as she looked at Nadelle. "I trust you to do that." -------- @J.R. Ivory Star looked back slowly on hearing her name. Her eyes met Ice Blizzard's. "Hi." Sunset Shimmer looked back as well, her eyes flicked back to Ivory Star's quickly. "Does he know-" "-No," Ivory Star said, shaking her head. "He is a friend, though." She pulled herself to her feet. "I guess that's good enough for me." Sunset Shimmer strolled on over to Ice Blizzard, holding out her hoof. "Sunset Shimmer..." She blinked, peering at Ice Blizzard's face. "And don't I know you?" ------- @Tacoma It seemed like hours later. Luna pulled back her wings, dropping in through the window once again. She was breathing heavily; the trip she had gone on had been nothing less than completely exhausting. But otherwise she was fine, which meant she had more business to attend to. Preparing a small magic spell, she sent it spiraling out of the room, calling an old friend...

  16. @reader8363 "Eh, guess it can't be helped. More for me!" In a literal fraction of a second, the pastries on the plates had disappeared, the plates scrubbed clean as if they had never been touched. Temperance blew out a slow whistle. "I'm really going to have to ask how those are made, you know? I mean, I can't exactly cook myself, but for these, i'm willing to learn..." -------- "Considering all of the possible circumstances and events that could lead up to this occasion... probably lost a bet or something." She looked over at Fluttershy, then back to Applejack. "One of us should go over there. See if she's alright." And kill Rainbow Dash, Twilight thought in the back of her head. Because who else...
  17. @J.R. "...If there's a cure, then we need to do everything in our power, in order to find it." Nurse Redheart stopped in the hallway, turning towards Nadelle. "I'm also going to need everything that we have on this disease. It's origin, it's symptoms, where the ponies were when they contracted it, and how. Everything." Nurse Redheart's eyes weren't cold, but they were hard, the eyes of a nursepony who had been through way too many complications in her life to bow down in this situation. "The more information we have, the closer we get to finding a cure..." ----------
  18. @J.R. "Help?" Nurse Redheart narrowly resisted the urge to smack her own face with a hoof; she'd done that once before, and the resulting bruise hadn't been pretty. "Help?" She took a deep breath, before she blew a gasket; that wasn't going to help anyone here. "...Four ponies sick with an incurable illness. The likes of which I haven't seen in Equestria, and of which our white magic happens to be useless against. We don't need help." She brushed a hoof back through her mane in exasperation, then looked to Nadelle. "...Do not enter that room unless you absolutely have to. Those patients are to stay inside that room, and not be moved unless they absolutely have to. Full scrub down of all the equipment that comes in and exits that room. Any other ponies with similar cases, we're putting them there as well. All personnel who have had interaction with those patients are to be brought in, and checked for signs of the disease." She shook her head once, before she shot one more brief glance at the room. "...I don't know if this disease is contagious or not, and I have no desire to find out, until we have a cure. Those are my orders." She walked out of the room, blowing another sigh as she went. "Help? We don't need help..." Nurse Redheart blew out the biggest sigh of all, as she touched a hoof to a necklace that hung down to her chest. Attached to the bottom was an emblem, a solid circle. "We're going to need a miracle. Mother Harmony..." ------- "...Wow." Sunset Shimmer blinked, just like she had been for the past several seconds; she had no idea what to say here. "Wow." "That's the reaction I typically get from everyone. Or at least, the few people that know. And derision. And scorn." Ivory Star shrugged. "Like I could help who I was born as." "No, you can't. Though from what I gather, having this sort of power was your own decision, wasn't it?" Ivory Star nodded. "I wanted to meet someone beyond this world, so I 'realized' myself. I stepped into a plane of power that I was never supposed to have. That no one was ever supposed to have. And now-" "-You just want to be normal?" "...Yeah." Ivory Star nodded, before looking back out towards the princesses quarters. "...It sure is quiet, at the top of the world." She blew out a sigh.
  19. "...This shouldn't be so difficult," Ivory Star sighed. "...What shouldn't be?" A voice behind Ivory Star made her turn her head, checking to see who was there. Sunset Shimmer looked back at her from where she stood, with a curious expression. She waved a hoof dismissively in Ivory Star's direction. "Not trying to pry. I just sort of saw you on the roof, and just couldn't help but get curious. So what's up?" "...Just thinking." Ivory Star watched without comment as Sunset Shimmer trotted over next to her. "It's sort of been a crazy time since i've been here, and I find myself having to make some hard decisions. Ones that I don't know if i'm quite ready to make. Or if I should even have the right." Sunset Shimmer stopped, as the back of her mind attempted to decode the information that had been given to her. She sat down next to Ivory. "Power issues?" She scoffed lightly. "Yeah, i've been there..." "You don't understand." "You think I don't understand?" She scoffed louder. "Try me." "There's no end to the amount of ponies I could hurt, including my own friends." "I backstabbed somebody who might as well have been my mom, and i'm still making up for it." "I have powers that nobody should have ever been given." "I turned into a raging she-demon by stealing an artifact of unknowable power, and brainwashed a school." She blinked. "...Still trying to make up for that, too." "I feel like i've lost all connection to this world." Ivory Star sighed as she laid her head down on the roof's barrier. "Like i've forgotten what it's like to care about anyone, or that the connection's just disappeared entirely. I think i've gone too far." "...Well. I think I know about the first one. I have been away for a while. Not so much the second. But, hey." Sunset Shimmer laid a single hoof on her shoulder. "If you want a connection with somebody, if you need somepony to care about, then I know the best place to go for that." "Oh?" Ivory Star shot her a questioning look. "Do you really?" "Yeah." Sunset Shimmer looked back at her with a grin. "Twilight Sparkle. But i'm the only one that's here, so it's going to have be me, instead." She leaned over and nudged her with a friendly smile. "Tell me everything."
  20. Ivory Star dropped down out of the sky to land on the roof below her, the purple scar of trans-dimensional transportation closing from above her without a sound. She sat down on all fours, looking ahead of her, to the princesses suite. She could see it in all of its glory, a massive white building gleaming like polished glass, eclipsed only by the height of the arena. Beautiful. Pristine. Probably not 4/10's as interesting as anything that she'd seen on her adventures. She was stuck in a bottle right now. Since she'd decided to become a villain all of several minutes ago, ideas had been whirling through her head on what to do. But all of them ran against two particular issues she couldn't shake, no matter how hard she tried. One, she didn't want to kill anypony, or cause any significant lasting harm. Two, she didn't know if she could pull this off without either of the first, and still garner attention. Good villains were convincing villains after all, and ones that were willing to break limits in order to get what they wanted. Could she do that? And more importantly, where would it end...? Ivory Star hung at the edge of the building, silently pondering to herself.
  21. @J.R. Rarity gave a quick nod in response. "Oh, of course! This was much too fun to pass up on future occasions. I'll see you sometime later, Ice Blizzard!" Rarity waved off to him as he left When she was finished, she organized her stuff, making sure everything was in place and organized, before heading off back to her shop. ------- @Denim&Venom The stallion contemplated both questions. "Well, quarters are located right next to the arena. Big, tall, skyscraper looking building; you'd have to have passed it on the way over here, if you happened to be coming from registration. And as for open challenges..." He reached out with magic, picking up one of the lists that he had stored behind the desk. He held it out in front of him, looking it over. "Well... it's not an easy process. But we can do it. Hold on a second..." He began to concentrate, causing the letters on the list to flash. Green sparks of flame shot off of each of them, before they leapt off of the paper, racing off into the sky. Searching for their owners... -------- @J.R., @Unicorncob, @Hazard Time, , ,@P-Jay, , @Literally Snails, @DarkusX, Across the limits of Bangcolt, parchments would appear to all those who had signed up to enter the tournaments. A solid brown sheet of paper containing an open invitation to the one one named "Luster," a map with directions on how to get to the arena, and directions for an ASAP, if possible...
  22. @J.R. Rarity mulled it over, giving it some thought. "A recommendation..." She looked back down to Ice Blizzard with a small smile. "I'd try the hoof massages. They're absolutely delightful." She looked back up again, remembering something that she in her short experience had happened to learn. "Oh; but if you're going to go, please do try not to go there after sundown. The particular variety of customer they serve their after dark is... quite rowdy, if you understand my meaning." She shot a knowing look over at Ice Blizzard; hopefully for his sake, he did. ------- @Denim&Venom The receptionist at the desk of the arena, a brown maned white bodied stallion with a scroll and pen for a cutie mark, waved at the mare as she entered the room; the fact that she was a machine or least part thereof had definitely not slipped his notice, but then, he wasn't the receptionist in charge of greeting visitors to Bangcolt. All of the oddities flocked here, sooner or later. He smiled brightly. "Welcome, miss! Is there anything that I can help you with?"
  23. Well, perhaps subjectively; that is your opinion after all, and no one's going to take it from you. Objectively, however, no, due to the fact that it's a faulty comparison. Because of labeling, the two take on a completely different aspect from each other. By taking the claim of "rotten apple," you're inherently wrapping it in a negative light; rotten apples are inherently "bad," from a biological/culinary standpoint. No one's really arguing that. Your argument falls apart, however, when you attempt to connect it to alicorns, who are inherently neutral in a natural, non-skewed state. Every rotten apple is an apple that's rotten, from the conception, and thus pre-supposed to be "bad"; every alicorn OC is created by a different person, under different conditions, and thus has the potential to be either good or bad, just depending on the direction it's being taken in, and who's writing it. Meaning, it's not something you can judge one way or the other, without slapping a negative or positive modifier on it to skew its nature in a particular direction. As you seem to be wanting to do in your argument, via the comparison you're attempting to make; apples in a prime state have the potential to taste either good or bad, unless you skew them with a negative modifier, i.e. "rotten." A better comparison, without the modifiers attached, would be: "I have absolutely no idea whether a singular apple is going to be good or bad before I eat it, though I can judge on the classification of particular traits that do/don't agree with me after i've experienced it, just like I have no idea whether a singular alicorn OC is going to be good or bad before I see it, though I can judge on the classification of particular traits that do and don't agree with me, after i've experienced it." And, with the modifiers attached: "I don't need to eat every rotten apple to know that every rotten apple taste bad, just like I don't need to see every flashy, brightly neon colored, three horned, five cutie mark gifted alicorn OC, to know that those types of alicorn OC's are bad." A statement which is both quite accurate, and, to the high majority of the fandom, more than a true statement. .
  24. It's very relevant, because you're stacking the deck; something that you automatically do when you assign a classification to something that's not its natural state. Do you need to eat all the rotten apples in the world to know that rotten apples taste bad? No. But, on the same token, do you need to be bitten by every dog in the world to know that all dogs that randomly bite strangers are "bad"? Or be shot at by every person in the world, to know that people shooting at you are "bad"? Short answer, no. And just like alicorn OC's, choosing to look at a bad side of something doesn't automatically make all shades of that something bad by proxy. Dogs bite; not all dogs are bad because of it. Some people shoot at you; not all people are bad because of it. Some alicorn OC's suck...
  25. No; it just makes me question why you'd specifically choose to stack the deck by using a rotten apple, when rotten apples really aren't the default state of apples. Just like bad alicorn OC's aren't the default state of Alicorn OC's.
