So happy to have you here! You've only been here a short while and you've already done a request for me that I absolutely love. Your art style is beautiful and vibrant. You have already brought a little ray of sunshine to the forums, and I can't wait to see you around more often!

I want to like them. Really I do, but I'm the type of person that listens more to the music than the lyrics. Usually, parody songs lack in musical quality and rely more on clever lyrics. This is just in my experience, though! Not all parody songs lack in musical value, I'm sure. This is just my experience.

technology Your Stance on Wireless Earbuds?
Lunar Glow replied to Rarity Gemstones's topic in Media Discussion
I think that it's a shame how often times the wireless earbuds are used more as a status symbol than taking advantage of how helpful they could actually be. Even if I could afford a pair, I wouldn't want to wear them in public for this reason. I am a very active person who is very much so addicted to music, so I definitely see an infinite amount of situations where they can be helpful to me and several people who wish to do anything while listening to music. I hope they don't die out as a fad, seeing as they're helpful little fellas...but I do hope that it being regarded as a "flex" dies out. -
I think it's interesting how so much of the fandom loves her. I feel nothing when it comes to Starlight Glimmer. Honestly, I don't particularly like her. She lacks personality in my eyes. Perhaps I'm missing something, here. But she simply does not interest me. You'd think that with all of the screen time she gets, she would grow on me, but she just hasn't. Don't get me wrong, she's super cute and fun. But in terms of character and personality...I'm not a fan.

I've actually thought about this a lot, and I completely agree. I wish that instead of using the same 30 background ponies for every episode, Hasbro should've allowed for fanmade OC's to be included in the show. Think about it; we're doing everything the writers do when they're writing a new character. Having the fanbase do it would certainly make the show more for it's audience. There would be so much more color in Equestria knowing that everyone living there had an actual backstory and personality.

Anyone Remember "My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas"?
Lunar Glow replied to kewlman2006's topic in Classic Generations
The animation and art style was so cute. The vibes? Impeccable. I have very good memories of watching it. While lacking complexity that is often a turn-off for people who want a good film, it's charming and simple. It's not obnoxiously brainless; that's good enough for a kid's movie. It's just lovely. -
What do you think this fandom will be like after the show ends?
Lunar Glow replied to Whirlwind's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Luckily, the show was not short-lived, and as the present will show you, the fandom seems to not have faded. It ended on a good note for most of the fandom, allowing us to still explore the show and speculate what has already been created. It stretched on for 9 seasons, for Celestia's sake! We have plenty to discuss and enjoy, still, even if it's just reruns. That being said, if G5 turns out to be a complete and utter disaster of mindless garbage, I could see the fandom squelching away from any association with MLP in the foreseeable future, but that's the only circumstance I can think of. The magic could very well be tarnished if the folks at Hasbro completely rewrite everything G4 stood for. Even if that were to happen, though, surely a good chunk of us would still be able to enjoy G4 on its own. Hooves crossed! -
While I am a female, where there is a little less of a stigma, I am still an adult with a job and a social network where me liking childish things can rub people the wrong way. No one is aware of my adoration of these horses, and I do not plan to. Whenever I even near the line of perhaps telling someone, I refrain from doing so out of fear for being judged for it. While I myself do not feel weird about it, I am made to feel weird about it by the people around me that have found out in the past. My Little Pony brings me genuine joy, so of course it feel natural to me. But I still have to hide that part of me.

For years I have been listening to this song on repeat...I don't know what it is, but every single element of this song is completely beautiful and fits perfectly. By far one of my favorite songs of all time.

What if the next generation is woke garbage?
Lunar Glow replied to Bendy's topic in MLP Generation 5 (G5)
In my gut, I already feel that G5 is going to funnel into the mainstream garbage. It's a shame, seeing as G4 has changed my life and has meant to much to me while still continuing to do so. This being said, I will not actively avoid it on first release. Who knows? It might very well surprise us all. A TV-Y show directed at four year olds about pastel ponies surprised me; who's to say that G5 won't? I'm certainly hopeful. Your point is a good one, though; mainstream media is going down the drain, and a renewed show in this time period is most likely inevitably going to fit that drain. I don't think that "wokeness" has to do with anything in terms of the quality in the show (assuming "wokeness" is a separate term outside "preachy"), but otherwise, I share your concern. -
Usually I'm not a fan of YouTubers and their content, but I 100% recommend Drew Gooden and Cody Ko. They never fail to make me laugh. They're actually witty and keep me interested.

What's your favorite way to kill time during the summer?
Lunar Glow replied to potterlock's topic in General Discussion
Swimming in the ocean/swimming in general Going to the skate park/skating around town/rollerskating Writing music/playing small gigs on the street Surfing Hiking Catching a free concert These are just my favorite in the summertime specifically! -
I wish that I could say that it depends on the person, but I live and work with college students that can go a week without showering...it's not pleasant. I'm not even a person who's sensitive to that. If showering once a week is a routine practice for you, there's bound to be side effects ranging anywhere from dandruff to frequent illness. It's just generally ill-advised. I know that at least I couldn't keep that up!

I'm honestly beyond conflicted. Of course I want the MLP legacy to continue, but I already sense that that legacy is going to be misrepresented through G5. We've all seen the spoilers...it looks like the creators are taking it down the route to be more of a show for children than a show that everyone can enjoy. I feel like the initial charm that G4 had will be stripped of it. Perhaps I'm just paranoid, though, seeing as MLP has contributed so much to my life and still remains to be something I hold dear to my heart. But you never know. I welcome G5 with open arms, knowing that I can always just close them again and rewatch G4 to my heart's content.

This song was playing at the skate park today, so it's been at the back of my head all day.

Any races on the show you didn't like?
Lunar Glow replied to Azureth's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I know I'm following the crowd with this one, here, but the Yaks were 100% my least favorite race. I feel like the writers relied too heavily on the whole "loud = funny" approach. The joke wasn't funny the first time, and certainly wasn't funny the 100th time. Especially when you take into account that they made that the only personality trait of the Yaks. I mean, the Yaks could've easily been a fun way to incorporate Icelandic culture or something into the show, but instead it was just "YAKS LOUD." Separately, I think that they introduced wayyyy too many races anyway that I wasn't even able to like any of them in regards to pure interest. The show then focused nearly exclusively on world-building to create a world where all of these species could exist. I liked the ponies and working inside of that area; all of the races were just...excessive. -
