Hmm, that's a good question. Off the top of my head, Amending Fences and Crusaders of the Lost Mark from Season 5, The Saddle Row Review for Season 6. There are a lot of really good to great episodes post-S4, but I recommend at least one episode previously to get the context.

I watched the Christmas special and I thought it was alright. Doesn't quite match the pre-season 5 stuff but still real good. I'll look at saddle row as I saw season 5 back in 2015.

Definitely not. And there's nothing wrong with still liking it, even if you don't like what it became over time. In my experience, anyway, there's people who openly like things other people find weird, and people who lie about it.

I only enjoy it in during season 1-4. Beyond that I just didn't care. I'll be 21 by the time G5 is released and in a less vulnerable position. If it does a create a second wave of bronies (as I predict) then I'll probably go and buy merch this time.

That's still a bad reason for you to scapegoat the fandom for your loss of enjoyment. You're responsible for keeping your own expectations in check, not them.

2 years and I finally realised you were right. I've re-watched some of the earlier and I've quickly realised what my problem was it. It had nothing to do with the fanbase it was the show itself.

  4. Did i say that? I didn't say it would get any success, just not as big as G4, because that was also partially a fluke.

And i also never said that the Fanbase will forget about FIM.

    What makes you think that?

The line "FiM came when the stars and the planets where at the right formation at the right time." Seems to suggest that a G5 show would not succeed. Unless I'm misreading that and you're saying that it won't be as popular then I completely understand.

  5. I never said my statement is true. All that i said is, that people shouldn't expect that G5 is happening immediatly, like just 6 months after the show ends. A span of 5 years sounds good. Maybe like 3 years after, since creating new characters and new locations and what not takes some time.

But i stay with what i said. The same height will never be achieved again.

Well could you please explain why G5 will just never achieve any popularity among older fans and why the fanbase will just forget about FIM's existence.

  6. While you are correct that FIM will end, I can't say your G5 statement is likely to be true. Hasbro make a lot of money off of MLP. For that reason I highly doubt they'd go such a long time without giving some form of continuation. And they will want a show to promote said toys. So I can say it's highly likely that a G5 show will premier within at least 5 years of FIM ending. And G5 will get attention. Yes whilst FIM's popularity was largely a chance event on 4chan MLP is now associated with the word "good". People won't just forget about after it ends. Plus when taking into account the fact that people are inclined to see reiterations of things they've seen before I can promise you that bronies will at least look into G5.

Eh, I'll still take part in the fandom, and probably watch reruns for the rest of eternity.

It's so hard to find anything interesting on TV, this show and Doctor Who are like the only things I've got left. Hopefully it at least doesn't end for a few more years.

May I suggest you watch Steven Universe or Wonder over Yonder? Those are really good (and in my opinion better then MLP).

  7. Heya Chirox, you could always find a place or niche in Media or General Discussion. I would really hate to lose you as a member here. Waning interests are natural, but if you made any connections here ... perhaps at least hang onto those?

Are you talking about me personally or just as in general membership numbers? The general is largely filled with topics I find uninteresting and I've gone to other forums to talk about the things I normally would in media. And I made one friend here (said person I now talk to through steam).

  8. It doesn't matter how many reasons you give. The second you scapegoat a fanbase, you're going to be called upon for it.

Friendship Is Magic is objectively a great show, but it's not the fans' fault that shows like Steven Universe are better. FIM is well liked for many reasons, but one of them is for its high quality. To blame the fandom in any way for your loss of interest is like saying Teen Titans Go! ruined a Young Justice fan's interest of YJ because TTG replaced it. Bronydom may've hyped it up, but it's your fault for burning yourself out, not theirs.

Bronydom attracts people for so many reasons, but the one central reason brony culture exists is due to devotion of FIM itself. Popularity isn't the end-all, be-all. There are bronies who came for the show, yet stayed for the fandom, and vice-versa.

Yes. Fandoms are a bonus; they don't affect the product or your enjoyment of it in any way. If you truly cared, you won't scapegoat the fanbase for any reason, period.

Secondly, most bronies aren't only devoted to FIM. They're into other products, too, including Doctor Who, Powerpuff Girls, Harry Potter, Twilight, and Steven Universe. What if they bleed the same habits into other fandoms, and those habits become infectious? Would you scapegoat them, lose interest, and possibly abandon those products as well? Fandom scapegoating is a major slippery slope, and you're falling for it.

The entire point you seem to make here is that "fanbases can't ruin something because reasons". You see if you're commonly exposed to the idea that "my little pony is modern day lord of the rings" you might start to get the idea that you're watching something that's better then it actually is.

  9. Actually, you can't. To blame them for your loss of interest is to scapegoat them. It's extremely misguided to scapegoat any fanbase for losing interest in any product, and it tells me you were never genuinely interested in FIM.

Well you must know so much about a guy you've never met. TBH I don't solely blame the fanbase for my loss of interest. After season 5 ended I decided to go back and re-watch powerpuff girls. Then I started watching Steven Universe. After the realization that I've watched much better in the past and can watch much better now sorta brought down my interest. You see to have a bunch of people hype a show which is just average kinda makes you think you're watching this god-like show. But then you start to realize it isn't as good as that. I might have been able to continue liking MLP. But with all the mental images that franchise now brings to mind it gives less reason to watch it. And you say I never cared for it huh? To be honest if anything I think I was more of a genuine fan then a lot of people who are obsessed with this show. A lot of self-proclaimed bronies tend to get into largely due to the culture surrounding it. I on the other hand decided to watch it, not because of popularity, but because a lot of the people who worked on powerpuff girls work on this show. Plus I didn't need the support of some community to continue my interest because I actually enjoyed it.

  10. WTf?! Well the idea she's lesbian is based in stereotypes (and I don't get why when there's plenty of other characters like her that don't get labeled this). And she's a fictional character with nothing about her love life being made official. In other words fanfiction is not canon.

  11. You can't really blame people who like the show seriously for growing disinterest, otherwise you'll never be ablke to enjoy anything ever for every long as every show with a fandom will have such people in its fanbase.

Nothing wrong with just admitting your alittle burnt out with pony. Its been several years after all, i'm pretty sure you've earned some respite from it by now.

Have fun with whatever takes your fancy in the future.

Yeah I can actually blame them. I'm gonna be honest here, I've never found I fanbase I have had frustration with more then this one. The fact all I can think about is the fan theories and shippings certain scenes will cause is not a good sign. And I'm gonna be honest here I have never seen a fanbase over analysis something to death like I have with bronies.

  12. I find it quite hypocritical that society will tell you it's ok to dress up like celestia knows what on Halloween but doing it any other time then then is "weird" and "stupid". I intend to cosplay at some point (my sister talked me into it) and if anyone says anything about me for it I'm gonna ask them "what were you dressing up as on October 31st?".

  13. I thought it was enjoyable, but nothing special.

Princess Unikitty was cute, and I liked the Emmett x Wyldstyle shipping. And the Everything is Awesome song is pretty addictive.

I did think that the second layer to the film (with Will Ferrell's character and his kid) was a clever addition though.

I think it's just a shame that the whole message of the film, about being creative and not just following the instructions, seems to be completely lost on the Lego toy makers. Any box of Lego that you buy these days seems completely geared towards building one specific model, with detailed instructions. :(

Then please explain to me what these are http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Classic-ByTheme

  14. Ok then, for the most half your entry was pretty good and was pretty much the equivalent to that of critically murdering the character (in other words good job). But I have an issue with two points you made.

You claim that this show has elements of sexism, whilst I see where you're coming from I'd have to disagree, for one thing you can't entirely blame this on the writers, they are still subject to what Hasbro as a toy company want from them and seeing as to how most (if not all) the dolls are female they can't do much about that. Not to mention the way this show tackles sexism is by instead of encouraging the stereotype but making it "cool" in the process or discouraging the stereotype this show instead teaches that a female can be anyone, this includes the stereotype (Rarity) the opposite of the stereotype (Rainbow Dash) and then the characters who are just themselves (the rest of the mane six). The reason why it's required to have all the mane six be female is that they need to show how many ways a female can be, and seeing as to how going beyond six in terms of how many main characters there are would be too difficult and confusing they have to have them all be female.

And then you claim racism on Flash, well consider this, the whole world of pedestria is filled multicoloured human...things so I think (compared to everyone else) Flash being coloured yellow really isn't a big deal, and regarding the eye thing well in all honesty I'm not quite seeing it but here's my question to you, so what if an Asian character is shown, he didn't embrace any stereotypes so what's the issue?

Again for the most half great it's but I just think you should reconsider those two points (taking those factors into account).
