@Nightmare Mirage News died a long time ago. All we have is propaganda. You either wind up brainwashed or disillusioned with the news outlets.

@Nightmare Mirage No we shouldn’t automatically blame anthropogenic global warming for events like these wildfires. But we shouldn’t necessarily dismiss it as relevant or even a culprit for these disasters either.
I will add it’s not just fake news and lack of quality among news now. It’s also an idiotic trend to make every news article a clickbait, including with lack of actual details, reporting and often tons of factual and grammatical and spelling errors. People have lost the ability to think critically for themselves.

@Cwanky Even the most pessimistic view of anthropogenic global warming shows very minimal actual warming at the present time. The global average temperature has increased by only 1 deg C over the past 150 years. There is no deconstruction, that I know of, that is able to point to human activity as a factor. If there were, nobody knows how much. Estimates typically range from 1/8 to 1/4 of a degree over those 150 years. The assumption is that increased atmospheric carbon dioxide is warming the planet...however, I have never seen any evidence of just how much CO2 is actually required to do this...nobody knows. It's only a correlation, without any historical record to compare to (increasing temperatures always leads increase in CO2, not the other way around).
My conscience is clear. I am very skeptical of 'anthropogenic global warming' because its effects are always advertised as disasters. Every disaster is blamed on it, even terrorism. It should be a huge red flag to any reasonable person that global warming, since it is quite natural and quite slow, can't be ALL bad ALL the time. It's silly to believe that. The aim is clear - use catastrophes to spread fear about human activity so that people will fund the radical groups who claim they can 'make it go away'. Call it emotional capitalism. Anyway, plants benefit greatly from increased CO2 and our vegetation, which all living things depend on, are flourishing as a result of greener plants that grow faster. Less cold climates means more farming, longer growing seasons, and more development and habitat for animals to thrive.
I reject the notion completely. Obviously, there is pollution and I despise it. I'm a naturalist and I live 'green', but live this way because I respect nature and my neighbors, not because I think the planet is being destroyed and only a certain group of global leftists can do anything about it with 70% of the earth's wealth in their control.
