As someone who isn't into anime, I still don't think it's a fair comparison. Aside from the fact that they're both forms of animation, I think they've become distinct enough over the years that they can almost be considered two different mediums. It would be like saying "books are better than movies", or "video games are better than television shows". Some might certainly be, but you can't compare the entirety of one medium to another.
