  1. don't ever call me a liar, i'm finishing these. just finding time for them isn't as easy. anyways here's your character kn1ght: sorry i couldn't draw him as well as your ref (which looks awesome btw). he's quite a special character it seems, or maybe that's just the background making it seem like that. hope you like it! on to the next one
  2. thx for bringing this to my attention ^^ at the moment i'm quite busy with school and other things so no i'm not working on them but all requests WILL be finished, i'm not backing out of a promise. i'll definatly have time to finish all these in summer break. (sorry for the wait everyone)
  3. seems like you have a very cool and original style, it's something i've never really seen before. you work really well with colors. i can clearly see you use a very large variety of colors which makes every piece just that much more special and colorfull. seems like you have a nice amount of fantasy as well. with the cut open body you posted for example or the colorfull piece with the crow (that's my fav piece btw) apart from that i can say i like the style for the bodies as well. the style for the hooves and the way you draw faces is great of course this is all on the ponies, i have next to no experience with humans (i've only drawn like 2 or 3) so i can't really say much about the humans apart from the fact that they look good don't be afraid to start commissions. you certainly have the talent ;p
  4. this was actually quite a fun one. i had some trouble making her nose/muzzle cause in all 3 references it seemed to have different size. love her design though ^^ thanks for putting her up
  5. ergh, i tried. i was hoping to get some good wings but i kinda failed hope it looks alright regardless
  6. i liked the idea of a pony who has gaming for a talent, kinda makes you wonder how he gets around with a talent like that. he's gotta be some sort of MLG member ^^ so i drew him as if he's on his way to a tournament or something. anyways i hope you like it =P
  7. alright, took me a while but i got it in the end. hope you like it ^^
  8. she seems like a real trouble maker to me, a rebel. her expressions was a bit strange to work with though: good job with your oc man, nice balanced colors, i like her
  9. so basically i wanted to get a bit better and more used to the whole "drawing something for someone" thing. and this seems like rather nice way of doing that. i'm going to be taking whichever requests i think might be fun, cus i draw the best when i'm having fun. so you can leave a reference to your OC below. i am however going to choose myself what i will be doing with it. basically i'll be choosing the position, setting, and so on... just give me a link or picture to/of the OC you want me to draw and i'll get on it =P don't think i need much rules apart from that
  10. i've noticed teenagers to be rather harmless in my eyes. whenever i pass them on the street or whatever they just seem kinda loud and stuff. but in the end they're just having fun. i think we were all a bit "weird" as teenagers. nothing wrong with that, sometimes they might insult you and such but meh. don't think i've ever heard anything genuine enough that made me feel bad. overall i think teenagers are alright, some are annoying but every person is different ^^ could be though that i don't find them that bad since i'm not that far from their age group
  11. i like it, it's cool to see traditional art from time to time. it's something i see a lot more rarely these days, which is to bad really, digital art is nice but traditional art has this entirely different feel to it. nice job!
  12. damn o.O you must have spent an awful long time shading this. the eyes and hair really are something special. do you have an estimation on how long you spent making this?
  13. oh nice, i actually really like the shading here, mostly cause fluttershy seems so hard to shade for me because i can't seem to find a good way to shade on yellow because it's darker version doesn't look all that fantastic. you kept it nice and colorfull here though. one thing though (and this might just be me) but i feel like the body is a bit small. ^^' i might just be used to seeing fanart where the body is larger though it sorta seems like her chest is partionally in her rump (is that the correct term?)
  14. this sounds pretty good, though you are off tone sometimes, the biggest problem seems when you try to hold a long note. your voice starts to shake and loses it's tone. apart from that all notes are pretty much correct. if you plan on putting it in a video i'd suggest practicing it a few more times and then recording it again. so you're a 100% correct maybe. you've got a nice voice though i'll give you that!
  15. i think the biggest reason the main 3 OC types are earth, unicorn and pegasus ponies is because they're what we see most in the show. it's the most recognizable. more species would bring more variation yet would perhaps not be seen as pony fanart and simply original art ^^ speaking of which this is a cool idea, and a great drawing, i'm surprised how well you drew and colored it on paper. do you often work traditionally or is this more of an exception?
  16. try using the line tool to get a more stable shape, you can do this by opening a linework layer and selecting either the curve or line tool. (linework layer is to the right of a normal layer) this should help you get more curved shapes, also one more tip on the eyes maybe, it's rather odd to see an iris that's only one color, try adding more variants, if you look at the shows characters, they also have (only slighly) a change of color, in the middle of the eye, now how you do it is completely up to you, but usually one side has a darker tone and the other a lighter tone (though not always, especially not if you want to talk realism) so yeah, experiment, try out new stuff. keep it up! looking good so far. good luck with drawing man
  17. oh wow, didn't know so many people had trouble drawing rarity, well i can agree she has quite a challenging mane but really in terms of time spent drawing each i found twilight to be the hardest, mostly because she has both wings and a horn. and her mane isn't just 1 color. and i thought a lot more people would have chosen AJ for easiest to draw, though i can see how fluttershy is also an easy one
  18. pinkie 97 is right that's pretty good for a first time, now all you need is more curves in the body really advise you to keep drawing!
  19. these are crazy cool entries, i'm looking in awe at these and still can't really describe how good these look melonblitz has an amazing soft style of coloring, and really knows how to use lineless art. love the outfit on celestia as well danishtoenails is the most original out of all of them, it's most certainly the most true to the contest it's theme. creativity to the max luckylass also seems like first to me, mostly cus of favourite pony but first place well desrved. though i feel like luckylass and melonblitz should be more tied for the lead, just my opinion though ^^
  20. omg this is awesome this is the first time i see art contests going on in MLPforums. i'm dissapointed i only noticed this today. 5 days before the due date is not really much time but this is monthly right? so next month there will be another contest?
  21. there's a couple of things that i think could use improvement but yu said you wanted a qritique so i'm assumin you're okay with any kind of feedback. as AURAequine said the ridgeline on her back would seem appropriate due to her position. she ducked down entirely so her back would be arched in a such a way the you could possibly see that line. though unlike humans the spine of a horse/ a lot of animals is more directed outward. therefor giving her that ridgeline makes her back seem like it is that of a human. furthermore the eyes seem rather emotionless. there are tears but the lack of expression makes it seem like she's crying while really remaining neutral. which would be fine in this scenario. though then there's to much tears... her hind legs/hooves seem twisted in an unnatural way. possibly because there's a black line in the seperation of the hoof and the flank. and one final thing that slightly bothers me is the lines that indicate a change in shape on the clouds. the points where her hooves are making contact with the cloud (i'm assuming) are sort of caving in to show that there's weight on the cloud from where her hoof is placed. though it's better to show this change in height by using shading rather then those lines. sorry if any of this seems harsh or anything, but at the end of the day it's only a matter of opinion. on top of that i can't even draw as good as you can at the moment so my advice isn't really worth that much. hope this was still helpfull in some way
  22. alright that's great! that's kinda crazy how did you get locked out of your account for 3 years? thank you for telling me it's good to know from multiple people that i'm good enough to start up a shop. thanks again for helping out! that's true, it's great practice for character variety
  23. that's great to know! i'll send you a link to the shop once i figure out how i can work with paypal and such. it's rather confusing at first glance
  24. my bad, thanks for changing it's location. i'm to used to beeing in that topic okay it's good to know from someone that it's of high enough quallity cause nothing is more embarrassing then putting up commisions only to find out it's quallity is to low. thanks a lot for giving your opinion!
  25. alright so i know that i don't really get much attention with these posts but i really beg of you to help me out here. if you don't feel like replying that's fine but please at least brohoof this post if your answer to the question above is yes. i've been drawing for 2 years, 1,5 years digital, and i really want to get some money together to commision a friend of mine who is gathering up money to buy a fursuit. i really wanna help him out but then first i need some money on a paypal account. so i thought i maight be able to help him by starting up commisions as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ congrats if you read all that and got this far ^^ or you could have skipped it iunno either way i've practiced several things like character creation... full detailed (as detailed as i could at the time) pictures with background... commisions for free... i've made cannon ponies (though it's been a while since i've done that) so i've done a lot of things to prepare on what people might ask when they commision something. my question is, does my work have enough quallity to be offered as commisions? i really need help on this subject, i'm to emberrased to ask my friends so yeh ^^' also does anyone have any advice about commisions? it'd be my first time actually doing paid commissions
