Fuck those people (excuse my language). You don't have anything to prove to them and if they don't want to hang out with you because you're a bit weird then they're just shallow hypocrites. Kids these days are just judge-mental pricks, and they'll realize it right after highschool.

I'm with Reloaded here. You don't need to seek their approval, they sound like unpleasant people to begin with. And don't get tricked into believing they are the only kind of people you'll ever meet. You sound like a pretty cool guy, you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. If it makes you feel any better, you're always welcome here - so it's proof you can mingle within a community.
