Got a Beagle myself. Howls at the slightest noise. Wake you up in the middle of the night faster than any smoke alarm.

I had a nice beagle. Never barked, always behaved and followed us off leash. He got dognapped.... Now we have a Miniature Shnowzer. He's well behaved, sits when told, stays when told, even with squirrels and stuff around, follows off leash, comes when called. We call him Pablo. He has a really big mustache.
