well it depends on how good your art is and how much of a fanbase you can generate. You should mix and match things up and say have a level of drawing you can do for free like something that gives you practice yet isn't a time huge time sink like maybe a rough sketch of an OC's face and then charge more if they want you to go beyond that for full body, coloured, show accurate, etc.
The freebies will get folks looking at your stuff and those that can afford the extra details might request them.
Also for prices, check out what other artists charge for art of the same level as yours... and then be a douche and undercut them my offering the same service for £1 less XD
Thanks for your advice. I'm going to try and make an Etsy listing for commission vectors. Hopefully it goes well!

There's nothing wrong with taking a look at what's popular--what matters is what you do after that.
Only stick with something if you really and truly enjoy it. (nobody likes a poser!)
You aren't any less of a fan just because you joined when it got popular! I never would have looked at MLP were it not for the hype it created!
I was actually really happy when Pokémon Go came out and got popular. For me, it was a grand opportunity to strike up conversations about something I've always loved with people I don't know or share any common ground with. Yeah, it's a little sad when people start dissing it because of its popularity, or when the hype fades away, but I just enjoy it while it lasts. Plus, now people are actually impressed by my Pokéknowledge. Did you know gen II is coming to Go soon?
Roll with the trends! Ride above them! Your fanhood is a badge of honour!

Personally, I like all 4 characters
Also, the world of MLP has many a strange thing, so the sudden appearance of an anti magic rock didn't seem too far fetched. Also perhaps the rock in unbreakable by anything besides the crazy Changeling friendship beam?
That would mean this giant, magic changeling rock is naturally throne-shaped...? It still sounds pretty far-fetched to me. ^^'

Mmm, I can understand your distaste with the fandom. Take a break from it, I guess, and maybe come back later with fresh eyes after you've cleansed your palette.

I think that's a good idea. Maybe you could do some sort of challenge-like requests where people have to create specific types of OC's (villains, protagonists, etc.) in a limited amount of time (one/two weeks) for you to review and rate at the end.
Or maybe you could even gather some people and try to create worlds/universes based around those characters like a "creation group" or something. But maybe that's derailing a little bit.
Those both sound like awesome (separate) ideas!
A creative group would be great, but I'd like it to be entirely separate from mlp and other fiction.

Would be interesting to see how you would critique characters from the show
Hmm. Hmmmmmm. :/
It wouldn't be a critique, exactly, but just my thoughts on how they're used in the show. I'm afraid a blog like that may be a little uninteresting, unless it tackles theories and such.

I think reviewing OC's is a lot of fun, not to mention it gives us a mutual understanding of how to develop a decent character for a show, a fanfic, a roleplay, and basically anything else inside the community. I'm personally trying to get into reviewing some myself, but I feel like I still need a lot more experience on the matter. A "Character Showcase" blog sounds really awesome~
(And on that note, you can totally review Vivid Clover for the blog if you ever feel like it. c:)
As for the day's question... I think this may be kind of an obvious answer, but in my opinion, Queen Chrysalis has a lot of potential that is yet to be explored. Her whole kingdom of changelings and their role and backstory in Equestria still remains a mystery for the most part.
I think this sounds like a fun idea
If you find yourself in need of some characters to get started, you're welcome to subject any of my OCs to examination
I guess, in order to do a good showcase, I'll need a variety of OCs with different strengths, weaknesses, roles, and contexts. :/ Hmm. I'm just on the fence about how to organize it all! Maybe I should request different types of OCs to critique first? (as in, villains, SOL, fanfic protagonists, heroes, etc)
What do you think?

That's an awesome tradition!

You kinda-sorta have to be a psychologist to grasp the implications of Starlight's backstory as I've mentioned elsewhere. It would seem that Starlight grew up lonely which is unnatural beyond belief for any young child. Forget about not having friends -- where were her parents? Did she really have nobody to turn to for comfort? No family? Nothing?
If it turns out that Starlight grew up in an orphanage, it would not surprise me. Perhaps her family was very neglectful of her or they had to abandon her for some reason.
I disagree. It doesn't take a psychologist to comprehend Starlight...she's much simpler than most cult leaders, and rightly so, seeing as this is, in the end, a children's show. and I don't believe there are any "implications" to her backstory, either. Her explanation at the end of the episode, I believe, told us everything that was haunting her, as she had no reason to not mention her family life if it really was so horrible as you describe.

If you're referencing the name from one of the classifications of rocks, then the proper spelling would be Igneous. If the apparent misspelling is intentional, however, then okay.
I intentionally altered the spelling to make it look like a Greek name.

i felt like that was the point of the episode it was a love letter to bronies, and if your gonna make a fan pander episode, it needed to be a milestone episode like 100
I feel like they wasted the number 100 on this episode. It was so rushed with its characters and generally poorly paced. i didn't really care about any of the characters at all, except maybe Derpy.

I agree with you. :/ This episode was just too much fanservice. I hope its not canon.

I didn't like this episode. I was never fond of the fanon of mlp, and the fact that it's canon now just...bothers me.
The Changeling's appearance, Bonbon's secret, the whole business with Doctor Whooves...it just feels like it opposes all of the established lore. You know? Like, yay, woohoo, they acknowledged some fanmade stuff, but still, they could have toned it down QUITE a bit. This episode was 100% inside jokes, and if you aren't interested in fanon, this episode is no fun at all.
