  1. Finally watching Friendship Games

  2. These are very cute designs! Although I see no "purple one". You can develop their personalities simply by asking yourself questions about them, and putting them in situations to see how they'd respond to them. And example would be... "Did X have any friends when they were young?" "Is Y a good judge of character? Why?" "Is Z independent, or do they require constant attention?" Answering questions like these will not only help you shape a personality, but it will also help you formulate a backstory, since personality and backstory go hand in hand. As for names....hmm...Terminology, idioms, and other forms of wordplay usually work. How about... White pony: Bookworm, Page Turner, or a play on a famous author's name (Like AK Yearling). Blue Pegasus: Cotton Clouds, Candy Skies, Nimbus, or some other cloud/weather related name. Grey Pegasus: Side Scroller, Specs. ...although it all depends on their personalities. Usually a Pony's name matches the who they are. For example. Rarity is an elegant, one-word name, totally suitable for a designer. Pinkie Pie is a silly, more energetic name. Rainbow DASH definitely implies more action and speed than, say, FLUTTERshy. It all depends on what kind of character they're going to be!
  3. Mm...I don't think so. She is glamourous, though!
  4. English, French, and a tiny, tiny bit of Italian.
  5. This looks so cool! Good luck, man! I hope this game is a big hit!
  6. Glad I could help--and hey, if you can't find a roleplay that suits your character, you can always make one! I'm sure plenty of players would be pretty excited to join an RP that takes place in the Crystal Empire.
  7. Season Six has been like that consistently. :/
  8. It looks all good to me. Have you roleplayed as her yet? Also, are you looking for a new drawing of her?
  9. This is a very dramatic and sad story, so I can see why this might cause some problems. :/ I think the main issue you have here is that Sunless doesn't feel like an mlp character. Her story is much too sad, and her powers really don't make sense with the lore of the show. She doesn't seem like she would fit in Equestria, so I'm having a hard time taking her seriously as a character. What do you intend to use Sunless for? In roleplays, some GMs might take issue with her. If she's the main character of a fanfic, however, the issues are entirely different. To me, the most important aspect of a character is their personality, not their backstory, not their design, but WHO they are. I could help you with Sunless, but to start she needs an actual personality beyond just the accumulated tragedies of her past. If you'd like, you can PM me, and we can work on her together? An alicorn, eh? Alright, right off the bat, a little warning: I'm sure you already know this, but alicorn characters are generally frowned upon in Roleplays due to how powerful they are, and in terms of sticking to canon, they usually don't fit in at all--remember, alicorns are the equivalent of deities in the mlp world. There really shouldn't be any more than there already are in the show itself. Anyways, I agree that this OC needs work. What you have so far for the personality is minimal, but good. The backstory is where it really gets sticky, though. It's very vague, but I can tell by this vagueness that you're trying to fit more into this character's past than one character should be allowed. ^^' I recommend you cut this character's ties from other worlds and keep them simply as an mlp character, if you really do want to keep him as canonical as possible. No DM is going to want to read "years of fantasy" before accepting a a character into their game, after all. A good question to ask would be this: What do you want to do with this character? If you'd like, I can help you develop him more via PM, but as he is now, I really don't know enough about him to point you in any specific direction. I realize this character is probably rather clear to you in your head, but from the outside, I honestly haven't any clue who he is, where he came from, why he's an Alicorn, etc. This is definitely very different from your initial idea. I'm not sure if hunting/falconry is really a thing in Equestria. That's really all i can think to say on the subject.
  10. This concept had a lot of potential, but it wasn't handled terribly well... they spent an awful lot of time hemming and hawing and setting things up, and not a lot of time actually playing the game. I would have liked to see them slowly start to enjoy themselves and become friends, and the most interesting parts of the episode were when they were actually in the game-- I think they could have had both. Ah, well. ...We need emoticons of this. We really do. Or, better yet:
  11. "Fear not, your romantic delusions are safe with me."

  12. "Fear not, your romantic delusions are safe with me." * "Aren't games fun?" * "You find yourself on a battlefield: a barrage of arrows rain down on you. If you roll a fifteen or higher, the shield protects you, fourteen or lower, and, well, haha, you get the idea!" Dungeons and Dragons and Discord?? Yes, please! Heading into this episode, I knew that I always get more excited than I should about 1) D&D things, and 2) Discord, so I tried to lower my expectations before I got started. I did, and in the end, I got an enjoyable episode, that, as suspected, didn't have as much D&D stuff in it as I had hoped, but was still fun to watch and had me wanting more. I think there was potential here for a better episode with the same "Don't knock it 'til you try it" lesson, but they spent a little too much time showing characters hemming and hawing and not enough time giving Discord, Big Mac, and Spike the chance to actually begin enjoying the game together, with a little Discord twist. I kept waiting and waiting for the episode to really get into full swing, but it just...didn't, really. I also feel like the points between "I'm bored of this," "I'm angry," and "please take me back" were a bit quick, and the whole "I'm cooler than you guys" theme was kind of unnecessary. I suppose I'm picky though. I headed into this episode hoping to see more of Discord controlling a chaotic D&D (O&O?) version of Equestria, with more regular characters converted into the rpg genre,* with cool visuals and animations beyond the underwhelming paper cutouts that were used. More than that, though, I would have liked to see the three guys slowly beginning to enjoy the discord-ified game, as well as each other's company, through little in-game victories...but hey, you can't always have your d20 and crit it, too. What did you think of this episode? Do you play D&D? Would you like to see this game/topic come up again? *
  13. Amber tensed up and grit her teeth. What has that weird buzzing? It was like that time she got a hornet in her hardhat! She stared blankly at Starchase. "Was that coming from me?" she asked. It buzzed again. Yes, unless the school was suffering from mini earthquakes, it most certainly was. She patted her pockets urgently and quickly produced the source of the buzzing-- a shiny blue rectangle that glowed on one side. She flipped it around in her hands curiously. "...'one new message'?" she read, and gave her friends a quizzical look. "This can't be useful, can it?"
  14. I actually figured the LOCAL Amber would have a phone, but not Equestrian Amber...but I could roll with it if you think this is preferable.
  15. I guess Amber's carrying Canadian money. I hope they take it here! And in terms of what it's worth, Amber's making a totally random guess. i doubt antifreeze would be that cheap. Remember when this used to be about the Elements? What even happened?
  16. Ah, Crystal Clear! I like her name*, design, and personality, but since we aren't here for those, I'll save my breath and just say "Well done" to all that. Our main concern lies elsewhere... *although her school nickname seems a little too far from her original one to have been thought up by fillies I don't know an awful lot about FoE, and I usually judge a character based on how they fit in the canonical world, so bear with me. ^^'
  17. "Follow that ringtone!" *bursts into history class*
  18. I know what you mean. I feel like this season, characters have been more like...caricatures. Like, they've lost some of the subtleties present in past seasons, and have forgotten some of the lessons they've already learnt for the sake of easier/lazier storytelling. The characters are being used as TOOLS now to tell a story, rather than the story being a tool to develop character. Although frankly, season 5 wasn't so great either. They got in too deep with fandom references and such.
  19. I'm sure the native Amber would be willing to part with her cellphone for a worthy cause. :3 Is that an okay idea?
  20. @@bronislav84,@@Swinton, @@J.R.. Amber fished through her pockets. She had been carrying a saddlebag with bits and a notebook In it back In Equestria, and these clothes seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, so it was worth a shot. "Aha!" She smiled and pulled out the contents of one pocket. It appeared to be a crumpled bit of purple paper She unfolded it gently. "Ten dollars...I think this is money." She pointed at the bill and smiled. What else was she carrying on her? Amber began to wonder if her pockets contained the same things as native Amber's pockets. This dimension hopping business sure was fascinating... "Ten bits--er, dollars, should be enough for antifreeze and a sandwich, right?" she asked, rifling through her other pockets. "But what's a smartphone?"
  21. I don't think I know enough about Yugioh to mentally formulate a deck. I only got interested in collecting cards recently. :> Maybe I could use a real deck...I dunno. It sounds like a really weird but cool crossover.
  22. This seems like a cool idea! How is it going? so far?
  23. Wow, I let some request pile up, it seems. ^^' Do any of you still need/want my help?
  24. This is gonna get complicated, but it seems cool. Good luck! Trust in the heart of the cards.
