Hello there, my crowd! Welcome to my Weekly Musings: Red Edition.

[I ❤ JAPAN] -- [I ❤ THE COLOR RED] -- [I ❤ CELESTIA]
After all there's only [A FEW MORE SLEEPS] til Christmas!
Let me tell you about it, my crowd.
It's movie time!
This time, I saw the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special! Thankfully, this movie does exactly what I wanted. It makes the Rey and the rest of her cast more enjoyable, and adds more cohesion so they feel like they genuinely belong in the Star Wars universe. Granted, there wasn’t a high bar to overcome. The original Star Wars Holiday Special was all ready bad and many were disappointed with the Rey trilogy; and there were some things that could only be done in this Lego version of Star Wars rather than the canon universe. Still, it was great! The only thing that was kind of upsetting was the fact that they didn’t get Mark Hamill, a guy who is a famous voice actor, to actually reprise his role. But that’s just nitpicking. This is still a great movie and definitely a major recommendation.
The other big thing this week was the celebration of my (other) uncle's birthday. He loved the food I made, he enjoyed our presents, and he genuinely enjoyed our time together because my cousin was in town and spent some time with us!
Over all, the party was a success. We all got to spend some more time together on Sunday before my cousin had to leave town again. Other then that, it's been mostly an average week.
Kiramager 35: Silly Obsidian!
This episode was just goofy cornball. Not in a bad way, mind you. I got a few good laughs out of it. I do wish we could have more story-driven episodes by this point, but I feel like episodes like this will end up becoming the legacy of the Kiramager show. And surprisingly, I think I'm okay with that. In 2020, we need a show that reminds us that it's okay to feel good.
Saber 14: Lion to Yourself.
I am in hell. I am bored and I am in tokusatsu hell. This is something I’ve been afraid of for a long time when it comes to tokusatsu; unnecessarily long battles, and something new introduced EVERY episode. There was hardly any story here. I am glad that Espada’s friends are carrying on his legacy, but that’s the only true highlight of this episode. I am sure some people might like it if an episode of tokusatsu is 90% in-costume battle scenes, but not me. Story is what makes these fights meaningful; it’s what makes the new forms and the new arsenal items meaningful. But if you focus on those other things first, then they have no meaning. There is hardly any story, so there is hardly any reason to care. This is not what Tokusatsu should be.
Yo... That Zenkaiger reveal!
Merry Christmas indeed!
That's all for now, my crowd. I think next week will be better.
Take care, and make way for the jingle bells.
There is a tradition I have every year for Christmas. I listen to this one specific song. You won't hear it on the radio; you might not even think to seek it out on your own, and I have no idea if it's even on Spotify or some other popular platform. Still, I make sure to listen to it each year. It reminds me of the true spirit of Christmas and what we can do to keep that spirit alive even after the holiday is over. Maybe some of you will also get inspired by it's message. Feel free to look up the lyrics and follow along. This is "Old City Bar" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
