Hello there, my crowd! Welcome to my Weekly Musings: Orange Edition.

[I ❤ JAPAN] -- [I ❤ THE COLOR RED] -- [I ❤ CELESTIA]
I never, EVER expected the week to end this way...
My crowd, I am lucky to be here.
[ 1 / 3 ] The most amazing and harrowing thing that happened this week... I almost died in a car accident (twice).
Allow me to try and explain the story in simple terms... My uncle has a work truck, but by Friday, he had to leave it in a truck stop a few towns over. He really wanted to get back to it and drive it back to his station in his hometown, however he didn't have many ways of getting out there. If he went alone, he'd be leaving another vehicle behind. And so my mother, being the caring sister that she is, decided to take him there and hit the road Sunday morning (7 AM). That meant she'd be waking up at 6:30. Furthermore, she could deliver my uncle to his truck, but she didn't want to be driving alone on the ride back home. Why? Because according to the weather reports, there was going to be snow later that morning. It was basically going to be a race against time; get my uncle to his truck before it snows and drive home in the snow after (all while hoping it doesn't come down too hard and that other vehicles would basically keep the road clear). And so, I volunteered to accompany my mother just in case. After all, I have a working cell phone and she doesn't. Neither one of us wanted to do this, and we really should have trusted our gut instinct...
[ 2 / 3 ] Together that morning, the two of us pick up my uncle and head down the highway. Also the snow came during the night while we slept, which means we'd be driving before the street cleaners could clear away all the snow and ice. My mother is a careful driver. She was doing 30 on a 50 MPH road (not sure if that's correct, but it was definitely under the limit). However, despite being as careful as possible, we still hit an icy patch in the road. The car took a slide straight into a ditch, and the passenger side hit against a guard rail. Try as we might, we couldn't drive out of the ditch; too much snow and ice. While we were trying, a pick-up trick slid in the same icy patch and nearly crashed into us. Thankfully, it just missed us, but it came awfully close. (There was a lot of close calls when you think about it.) Eventually, we had to call a wrecker to tow us out of that ditch. While we were waiting, a highway patrolman came to our "aid". More like gave us a speeding ticket, even though we were obeying the speed limit. I guess doing 30 in the snow just isn't slow enough. We were also given a bill for damaging city property (the guard rail), and yes the wrecker that pulled the car out also charged a bill for their service.
[ 3 / 3 ] For those who are asking, we are all alive and healthy. No injuries or anything. The car's only damage is some heavy dents and scratches on the passenger side, but it's still drivable. However, we all felt equally responsible. My uncle felt bad because upon reflection; he realized there were other options and he didn't HAVE to go get his work truck on Sunday morning (I think his job offers a shuttle service or something), he just wanted to because he has good work ethic. My mother felt responsible because she knows her Dodge Caravan (basically a soccer mom's car) is not meant for driving down highways covered in ice and snow; she felt like she should have known better than to accept such a risky drive. I feel bad for not being the voice of reason; even I knew things like how the weather reports are never fully accurate, and I just knew the snow would arrive sooner than expected. My uncle is going to try and help us with these bills, his job was all ready going to reimburse him for having to make multiple tricks to bring his work truck back so maybe'll they'll help with this. For my mother and I, this is a bad time for bills like this. We all ready have enough bills to deal with. Maybe insurance will help us out, but after that, who knows.
But you know, the week wasn't all bad. Except for the events of Sunday, it was practically mundane! The snow was absolutely beautiful, despite it being our natural enemy on Sunday. Makes me wish we had that kind of snow on Christmas. Seriously, this was the kind of snow where you could make snowmen and snow angels!
My uncle managed to get my record player properly working with my surround sound. I got my TV mounted on my entertainment center (still don't like the way it's mounted, but there's hardly anything I can do about it). I also sorted some old files and stuff. At the beginning of every year, I always check to see which Warranties have expired.
NO KIRAMAGER OR SABER THIS WEEK!
They took a break because of New Years, but they'll be back next week.
Transformers WFCT 07-09: Season 2 Rises!
Season 2 starts off not with Earth (yet), but with a race. Where the last season ended with a race to get off Cybertron, this one begins with a race to catch up to the Autobots. But I do wonder... Was harvesting the spark of fellow Decepticons something that happened in G1? I didn’t see all of G1, so I have no idea, but it’s done in a pretty dark way where. We’ve got mercenaries trying to trade the Autobots for profit (makes me wonder if they also reported them to the Decepticons as a final double-cross). Scorponok’s entrance is scary, though the Quintesson’s entrance is kind of a downgrade (creepy, but still a letdown). And thankfully, the b-story with Elita 1 is just as engaging as the main story.
That's all for now, my crowd.
Take care, and drive safely.
I told you I had a few Sonic movies saved up. As an un-ironic fan of Knuckles the Echidna from as far back as the 90's, it's great to see people like this reminding us how Knuckles can be done right and how we can give him the prestige he deserves (after all, he is part of the founding 3 members of the Sonic gang). Who knows, maybe the sequel to the live action movie will do him some justice. For now, check out this video and the person who made it; he's got a lot of great Sonic videos if you're a Sonic fan. This is "From Memes to Mario: How Knuckles Can Show 3D Sonic The Way" by Game Apologist.
