Up with the sun!

How goes it, my crowd?
This is a week of premieres. And while I won't be able to see Sonic this week, something else more relevant premiered...
My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale. Four episodes all at once! And you know what?
I actually liked them!
I didn't think I would. I was fully expecting them to be as senseless as Pony Life. Instead, we had GOOD writing! These characters stayed true to who they are. The humor was situational but not forced. There was story building. Even the music wasn't half bad. To me, these felt like short, condensed episodes of MLP FIM except with the new characters and their version of Equestria.I'll share my thoughts in full this weekend, but this was easily a nice and gentle first step.
Take care, my crowd.

Well that's interesting you should say that.
Nothing I can do about the animation (I actually agree with you on that). I do wish the one song they had sounded a bit better, but I don't think it's the worse; maybe they are saving better songs for the main series. And I realize humor is subjective, but I just don't feel like they were trying that hard to make us laugh. Pony Life was trying to be wall-to-wall funny with jokes, silly faces, and more. This one had humorous situations, but they were happening to the characters naturally, not in a forced way. I rather respect that.
SpoilerNot to mention, I love the little call backs to the movie. Please tell me you caught them, at least!
The pegasi were having trouble flying because they've never flown before. In the movie, magic was gone, therefore so was flying. We have entire generations of pegasi that are getting use to it the hard way like Twilight Sparkle had to when she became an alicorn.
Pipp is giving up a life of luxury and royalty to stay by her sister and friends, just like she did in the movie.
And Izzy had another one of her "This is how a unicorn...!" lines.
I was born in 1984. I grew up with Ghostbusters. Saw the movies and the cartoon as a kid.

@Samurai Equine Yeah, I saw the references. It's all down to personal taste. There are people on here who can explain it much better than I can. I'm gonna hold out until Make Your Mark to see if G5 can redeem itself for me.
