Hello there, my crowd! Welcome to my Weekly Musings: Red Edition.
[I ❤ JAPAN] -- [I ❤ THE COLOR RED] -- [I ❤ CELESTIA]
Feel free to leave a song request. Your song will eventually be featured in a future Weekly Musings entry!
My crowd, I do not look like this. -->
Nothing major happened this week, it was mostly just an off week where I needed a break from all the major things going on in my life. I did discover some new music, though! Might post some soon, just not this week.
There has been some sad news in the world of Tokusatsu, though. Generation Kikaida is going out of business, so they won't be offering all their tokusatsu titles for much longer. I am worried what this means. They offered a lot of titles. Kamen Rider V3 might not be a big loss. If they aren't holding onto the international rights, then it gives Shout Factory a chance to not only pick up but give us a better translation and a better video master from Toei. Not sure what will happen with things like the live action Kikaida, Kikaida 01, and Inazuman. There is a chance piracy might happen. I know the DVDs will definitely increase in value. The store closes in June, but I don't think I'll be able to buy anything from them in time. I guess I just thought they'd always be around... Also, the actor who played Ultraman Jack has passed away from lung cancer. RIP.
Geats 27: Sorry, No Oranges Here... Not much I can say except this episode was mostly build up and filler. The new buckle is taking a toll on Ace; he may have the power but he can't handle it. It seems that it's possible Ace is a reincarnation of many ancestors. We all know Geats isn't going to be killed off that easily. Furthermore, this episode seems to be full of idiots. The Game Master went after his driver unarmed and only succeeding in giving the Jamato lady what she wanted, and Ziin should have just taken Ace and run rather that fight that Jamato lady on her home turf. Full control over the belt of not, there was no reason to risk it.
King-Oh 03: No Mellow For Yellow! First of all, that opening theme! My crowd, we have finally made a new page in history. This is the first Sentai opening theme that does not say the name of the show in any way. We came close with KyuRanger, but now this theme is all in. Could Sentai finally be following in the steps in Kamen Rider's theme songs? We haven't seen an ending theme so far, but that could change in the future. Second, we now get a closer look at Yellow's kingdom. I am guessing this one is based on European countries; such England and Ireland and whatnot. Third, sadly I feel like we didn't learn any more than what the teaser told us last time. Yellow is a spoiled brat of a queen, but she deals in medicine, and she genuinely cares about all of her citizens. However, the spoiler for the next episode seems to be doing a better job of keeping the audience guessing. Last of all, I think I finally understand the meaning of the name of the show. According to the theme song, these characters are trying to find the king of kings. (And on a minor note, three episodes have introduced to three Rangers; in order of the typical Red, Blue, and Yellow like we see in other trio-focused Sentai.)
That's all for now, my crowd. Take care, and keep loving.
Let's go! Another request from @Astral Soul! This time, it's the ever iconic "Lullaby for a Princess" by Ponyphonic. You really should see the fan animation that was made for this song. It's sad, touching, and really puts more into Celestia's personal story than the show revealed.
