Happy Birthday, sis!

Hope it's everything you want it to be, with lots of presents~! -
Hello there, my crowd! Welcome to my Weekly Musings: Orange Edition.
[I ❤ JAPAN] -- [I ❤ THE COLOR RED] -- [I ❤ CELESTIA]
Feel free to leave a video request. Your video will eventually be featured in a future Weekly Musings entry!
And this one is late because dealing with the aftermath takes a lot out of you...
Allow me to explain, my crowd.
[ 1 / 2 ] The biggest thing that happened in the week we just finished was a memorial service for my grandfather(-in-law) on Saturday. To my surprise, it was bigger than my grandmother's service, but still very respectful. It was so big, that things were more organized than I expected. Speakers had been picked out in advance. I had prepared to give a speech, if they were going to open the floor up to anyone who wanted to say something (that's how it went in my grandmother's service), but that never happened. That's fine, though! I don't mind. More than just my grandfather, the speech was for those who felt the same as me but couldn't be there (like my cousins). If need be, I can always just reach out to them on social media. For now, this was about honoring those who were gone.
[ 2 / 2 ] ...However, the service carried on into Sunday. There was an informal lunch at my grandparents house. It was a good time for family and friends to come together, settle some issues, and bond. Even when the majority of the people left though, my family and I decided to stick around longer. At that point, it was just everyone directly related to my grandparents, except for one of my uncles. He is strangely MIA after the Saturday service.
But the story doesn't quite end here. The Sunday after-party was basically just a pretext to what would come on Monday. And I'll share that part next time; hopefully with more details to add.
In good news, I got some new clothes!
Not everything I would have wanted, but it's a start. I got a new green t-shirt and a new orange t-shirt. Furthermore, I got new socks. Socks based on the "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" movie to be specific...
I mean, I didn't necessarily want socks like this, but considering how everything is priced these days, it really was the best deal. I was getting a ton of socks for a good price, and they covered many of colors I wanted. Plus, socks are socks, right? Not to mention, that neon green Broly sock is kind of fire, though~! I didn't notice it from the display box, but seeing it unboxed is pretty cool!
There's a Mexican restaurant in my neighborhood that I went to. They've rebranded, but they are still a Mexican restaurant. But I have to say, I feel like I went back in time! The prices are what you expect, but they haven't downsized like everyone else! You order something, you get BIG proportions! Worth every penny.
MOVIE TIME! This time, I saw RISE OF THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: THE MOVIE. I am actually kind of sad to see this reimagining come to end, but I am happy they went hard and did everything to show just how great this interpretation can be. It showed us that even if some things are radically different, it's still never too far from the Turtles we know and love. It showed us Leo does have the potential to become the leader after all, and may just get there one day, despite starting off as a reckless showoff. It showed us that April is indeed studying journalism. It showed us a new, very interest take on the Krang that fits within that universe. And yes, fan theories were confirmed, the time-traveling Casey Jones is related to Cassandra Jones after all. They manage to tell a story and have characters learn lessons without leaning on too many cliché lines we've heard dozens times, thus forcing the story to be even more personal and endearing. Ending it on a remix of the show's theme song is the nice little chef's kiss to tie it all together. Maybe this version of the Turtles came at the wrong time in animation, but ultimately it shows us that it's not about the style of animation, it's the quality within. This movie definitely has quality.
MLP TYT 21: Sunny's Disposition.
Wow. Maretime Bay is full of jerks. Not ONE of them helped Sunny get back up or clean her off? Outside of the opening moments, this was a good episode, I guess? It had a good message about not letting an embarrassment have power over you, it's just that the pacing was a little all over the place. Some of the funnier moments could have been scrapped in favor of driving home the meaningful message. It almost does too little, but over all, it's a good episode. I understood what they were going for, and hopefully the message connects with young audiences too.
DonBrothers 22: Space Without Space.
Transforming into Fiveman accomplished nothing, we just got it for the sake of see one space-themed heroes fighting a monster based on MegaRanger, who were also space themed. Other then that, I don't think the host has anything in common with MegaRanger. This episode was mostly a tease or a build-up for the manga artist that framed Inu Sister of plagiarism. Seems like this artist actually has better drawing skills, but other then that, is making extremely similar stories. Even knows how to make the same cooking. Knowing how random this show is, it could be anyone under that costume. Oni Sister from the future? A relative? Some other character? All I know is, I want to see more.
ReVice 46: The Family That Kicks Together!
Is this really the end of Giff? It would be nice. Look at what we got out of it! Tamaki finally transformed into a Rider, as he was always meant to. Sakura bonded with her demon, and we found out that it's actually evolving instead of injured. As a result, Jeanne gets a super form, becoming Invincible Jeanne! Best of all, that final Rider Kick shared by the Igarashi siblings! But we're still not done. What about Ikki/Revi's memories? Is this defeat of Giff another red herring? Is this the last time we'll see Tamaki as Over Demons? And what is George up to?
ReVice Girls Remix 01: Welcome to Girls Night!
We need more things that celebrate the female hero side of the tokusatsu genre, and this is a great start, even if it's a little forced in some small ways. We all ready have a great cast, but the next episode preview promises even more iconic females of Kamen Rider past. Who else will we see? Femme from Ryuki? Might be nice to see Kivala again. Don't think I missed the subtle allusion to Tackle. All I can say is, after this, having a new tradition of female Riders would be nice. #FemaleRiders4Reiwa!
That's all for now, my crowd.
Take care, and those who are remembered are never truly gone.
This video is hilarious because it reminds me of a friend of mine, but also it makes me wish life was this this wholesomely rewarding.
This is "CEO Winnie the Pooh" by Doobus Goobus.

Hello there, my crowd! Welcome to my Weekly Musings: Red Edition.
[I ❤ JAPAN] -- [I ❤ THE COLOR RED] -- [I ❤ CELESTIA]
Feel free to leave a song request. Your song will eventually be featured in a future Weekly Musings entry!
I wonder if people noticed how quiet I've been this week?
Let's talk about, my crowd.
I guess the biggest thing that happened is not an event, but some news that dropped. Memorial services for my grandfather will be held this coming weekend. Some in my family think this should have happened, but considering everyone else was sick and considering how long it took to arrange my grandmother's services at the height of COVID season, this is a really quick turn around IMHO. I will dress as best I can, despite the ridiculous heat wave we are under. I will also consider whether or not I will make a speech.
At least there is good news in the world of tokusatsu!
Fuuto PI's first episode premiered recently. I am not going to watch this anime right away. I want to wait and see what happens to it internationally. I REALLY hope it gets a good dub. Furthermore, a new challenger steps into the fray! As we await the official release of other things, Discotek Media (The same people that released Juspion) announced that they'll be releasing Space Sheriff Gavan in glorious HD! The people with the best translation record and the best community outreach is handling an all-time tokusatsu classic, and I couldn't be more proud. They might just release this sooner than stuff announced by the competition! Now I am really hoping they'll go on and cover all the genre-defining Metal Hero shows. There's the other Space Sheriffs, the rescue-themed heroes, and more. I don't know if we'll ever get Metalder, Spielban, B-Fighter, or any others that Saban touched in the 90's. However, with Shout Factory returning to Sentai, perhaps it'll soon be easier to do that.
I recently called a plumber to fix some toilet issues I've been having, and I was nearly traumatized!!
You know, before COVID hit, I actually had some good experiences with plumbers. They were clean, professional, experienced, etc. The very opposite of all the negative things you hear, like how you should never shake a plumber's hand. Perhaps they were finally breaking free of all those stereotypes? NOPE! Not this one. When he arrived, his hands were covered in a film of black filth. Everything he touched was getting dirty, and he knew it! That's why he was carrying a dirty, rust-covered work rag to help him clean up his messes. And just as he was finishing his work, which thankfully was a simple fix, he did something that made me paralyzed with disbelief. Noticing the dirt he left behind, he dipped his work rap IN THE TOILET WATER and started cleaning with it! ☠ How does a plumber like this exist? After all the health scares and lockdowns we've been through, you'd think a plumber would at least carry some hand-sanitizer or something! A guy like that is a prime candidate for catching ALL the diseases. Good thing I was all ready planning on cleaning up after him.
And now, I can finally close the chapter on a piece of my life that has been a long time coming... I finally tried Pepsi Nitro Vanilla.
I risked my health and compared it to regular Pepsi Nitro (I don't usually drink 2 sodas back to back). Gotta say, that was interesting~
Have you ever had a vanilla soda (like Coca Cola Vanilla or Pepsi Vanilla)? It's like that, but it tastes as if the Vanilla flavor has been doubled. Add in the fact that Pepsi Nitro all ready has a somewhat creamy flavor, and what you have is a soda that tastes more like Pepsi-flavored candy. It was good, but I think regular Pepsi Nitro is enough for me.
MLP TYT 20: Who's Spotlight Is It?
Well, this episode was better than the last one. I don't feel like the show is talking down to me anymore, so that's a plus. The focus of it is a little odd, but otherwise solid. For once, Izzy's love of recycling actually helps someone down on their luck, which is way better than her confusing song about trash. I am convinced this stallion is the same one that we saw in prison earlier in TYT. If I am right, that is one HECK of a rehabilitation program! It is odd that this background character is getting so much focus; I practically forgot this was suppose to be an Izzy-focused episode at first. Still, I'll take my good episodes where I can get them.
DonBrothers 21: For The Unenlightened.
Well, color me impressed? We have our ever enlightened main man, Saru Brother, stuck between two rivaling adults who lack the enlightenment necessary to see that they are stuck pursuing material goods, grudges, and petty things. The way this episode is handled could have been done in a more straightforward way that kids would understand, but instead, the story had some substance to it. In a way, it's like seeing a story for something far greater, it just so happens to involve superheroes at the same time. One could almost say this story was too good for DonBrothers. Though I do wonder if the fact the DonBrothers powers were inherited will have some significance in the future.
ReVice 45: Prelude To Giff.
I am use to having a lot to say, and for once, I don't. Ikki/Revi shares the same feeling the audience has, defeating Lord Giff was too easy, and he was right. He has returned to trounce them all like it's nothing! This whole episode is just setting the stage for the real final battle. Perhaps the only way to win now is to destroy Lord Giff. And maybe Orteca's return will mean something here.
That's all for now, my crowd.
Take care, and be prepared to face the odds.
It's always great to hear music that is not only good, but doesn't get the attention it deserves. So it's time for me to do my part. I heard this on a talk-radio program, and now it's your turn. This a funky, jazzy, soul-filled rock song called "Who Stole My Radio?" by Shemekia Copeland.
