How goes it, my crowd? :rarity:

    Bear with me, everyone.
Following in the steps of my bro @Stone Cold Steve Jobs, it just doesn't seem right to keep a game going with the forum glitched out. So until things get fixed, no game this week either. Sorry, but that's just how it has to be. Even with the work-around fix I found, I can tell a number of my followers just aren't posting status updates. They probably know a lot of their followers, like mine, won't see it anyways.

BTW, Sonic Frontiers just got two awesome gameplay trailers! They are beautiful! They don't give us a full look at the game, nor do they really tell us anything new about the story. However, it is still very gorgeous to look at. Check it out some time! :)

    Take care, my crowd. :secret:

Beats me. I've seen these bugs happen before. The only thing I can guess is when the staff make a major update to the forum, it doesn't affect everything, thus causing bugs. But I have no idea if that's true or not. :P

Exactly my point. Take care, my friend. :BrightMacContent:

  3. @GeneralDirection The shogun rises from his seat and walks over until his standing before them. "Samurai, report. Did you find any magic gem stones?" He asks. Samurai rises up from bowing and lets Silver know he may do the same. "No sir, but I found something just as fascinating. A kirin. His name is Silver." Samurai mentions his friend. "Oh, so the legends are true. They do exist." The shogun looks silver over. "And the tale about them having fire magic?" He asks. "Emotion-based. I'll let Silver explain it better."
  4. @GeneralDirection "Oh dear..." Samurai rubs the back of his head, clearly uncomfortable being referred to by that name. Asahi smiles and pats Silver's head lightly. "Well, do come visit me in my section of Japone some day, won't you? The same goes for you too, Samurai-kun. Ja ne~!" Asahi waves and leaves. "Just don't let me catch you being disrespectful. And Samurai, next I see you, it'll be me who defeats you." Denki leaves. "...Denki thinks of me as his rival. He is always trying to prove he is stronger or more powerful than me. I don't really care that much, but if it keeps him motivated, so be it." Samurai says. Moments later, they hear a set of sliding doors open. Some of the aristocrats enter into the room, but sit against the walls and dark corners. "The shogun is coming! Please bow." Samurai tells Silver. At the end of the corridor in front of them, sitting on a special chair, is a pegasus in brilliant gold armor. His mane is neat, he has a heavy mustache, and his physical build is quite strong. Like the other two ponies before, he is not wearing any helmet right now. Because he is in a chair, Samurai and Silver sitting on floor mats, the shogun's head is literally higher then theirs. "Shogun-dono." Samurai says respectfully while bowing. This shogun pony has a sharp leer in his eyes; judging, waiting, analyzing. He is very stern indeed.

How goes it, my crowd? :rarity:

I want to do things differently this week. I have no idea when the forum will get fixed. I have found a work-around so that I won't miss any status updates anymore. The problem is that now I will get alerted to every little post my friends make on this forum, no matter where that post is. I thought that this forum issues would be looked at and resolved over the weekend, but that apparently didn't happen. That or the staff are still trying to figure it out. Still, a temporary fix is better than nothing.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day. I had the day off, so I got to lounge around and do almost nothing. :ButtercupLaugh:

There is no such thing as a lesson you don't have to learn.

    Spoiler

Life is full of experiences and lessons that we have to learn from in order to become our best, most realized self. And even then, it's never too late to learn something new.

Still, there are times when you may think that it's not necessary for someone to learn certain life lessons. For example, if you're watching a piece of fiction you like, you might find it annoying if the next generation has to learn the same lessons as those before. You might say things like "We've all ready done this!" or "Shouldn't these characters have all ready learned this from their parents/predecessors/ancestors/seniors/etc.?" But life doesn't work that way; not for anyone.

True wisdom cannot simply be granted, it must be earned through experience and living your life. Furthermore, your life cannot be all ready lived. No one can transmute years of wisdom and experience. No matter how hard those before might try, it's up to all of us to find our own way, make our own beliefs, and understand why those who came before us are trying to impart words of wisdom. It doesn't mean you stop listening or that you stop caring. It means that sometimes we have to fall and make mistakes before we can build ourselves back up again. And maybe in the mix of things, as we find a way of life that works for each of us, we might actually begin to better understand the lessons of our parents, seniors, predecessors, and all who came before us.

If we are lucky, we might learn something new that those before us never learned themselves. After all, we are all mortal, therefore no one is perfect. Not to mention that times change, social norms change, etc. We never truly master the random nature of life, we just learn how to navigate through it better, at least until our final years. But no matter what, life cannot be lived for you. Wisdom and experience cannot truly be inherited without being tested. It can set you back; at times it feels like you might be starting over from zero as if you were never taught anything at all. But learning is not a failure nor a weakness. It's an opportunity to build, to better yourself, and see just how great your life can truly be. So don't fear that personal potential you have, and even if you have to live a similar life many others have all ready lived, go ahead and live your life the only way you can and keep no regrets about it.

    Take care, my crowd. B)

@Samurai Equine You are right. *hugs* :) I turned them on again. I don't wanna miss anything. I decided to just take the spam with humor. :fluttershy: And everything else that made me feel bad lately~ <3
I actually noticed something. None of the notification settings says anything about the reactions, but when I turned some off, I didn't receive them anymore. So I know for a fact that one setting turns the reaction notifications off, I just don't know which one. I will just leave my discovery here as I find it very interesting. :)

We could definitely test it together, but it requires some time. I basically need to turn off one notification after the other, while someone else reacts to my posts.

I personally leave them on now, but I'm willing to test it with someone who wants it. :) Or maybe one of the mods or admins already knows which setting it is? This would safe some effort, haha.

  6. @GeneralDirection However, as Samurai and Silver sit there, two other ponies enter. Minus any helmets, they are both wearing armor. The unicorn stallion has armor that is a mix of dark blue and orange, the elegant-looking pegasus mare is in a a suit of mostly pink armor and a strange tiny tree grown on top of her head. "Samurai Equine! Is it true you brought an outsider into our quarters?! Who... What even is he?" The stallion asks rather loudly, at first rather insulted but then confused. "What business does he have here?! You! Do you know that you are on officially sanctioned territory? Are you aware your head is too high?" The stallion asks Silver before reaching for something. A weapon, maybe? But Samurai instantly leaps in front of Silver, arms stretched out to shield him. "Chotto matte kudasai! I'm the one that invited him here, Denki. He means no harm, and he doesn't have to bow. I all ready told him it's not necessary." Samurai says. "Hmph. Necessary for me." Denki says in a huff and backs off. "Now now, let's not make a bad impression for our guest, okay? We're not just enforcers, we are also peace keepers too, right? Sorry if Denki comes off brash. He's always like that, but there is good underneath, I promise." The mare says, waving off Denki but also bowing politely. Samurai is able to smile again and drop his guard. "Konnichiwa. I'm Asahi, the samurai of earth. You've all ready met Denki, the samurai of thunder. And I see you've all ready become close to Taku, the samurai of fire." Asahi says with a giggle. "Asahi, please don't give away my nickname so easily." Samurai says, a little embarrassed. "Sorry, Samurai-kun. I'll try to honor your wishes." She says. "It's still wrong to randomly bring a civilian here. This establishment is for fellow samurai, aristocrats, and government officials only." Denki says from the corner of the room. "True, citizens and commoners are only allowed under special or extreme circumstances. And because of that, I thought the shogun might like to see a real-live kirin." Samurai says. "A kirin?!" Denki says, raising his head. "Oh my~ So that explains the unique look." Asahi says.
  7. 508682. Just because I can. Later, frenz!
  8. @GeneralDirection "Unfortunately, not all the citizens here have magic that strong. That's where soldiers like me come into play. However, if I could, I'd like to be more than a soldier or a royal guard. I believe the western ponies call it... a hero." Samurai says with hope in his eyes. "Heh. As for meeting the others... Well, just wait 'til you've actually met them." Samurai says. After much training, they come to something of a mansion on a hill. They go through the winding brick roads, passing through different gates with fox guards (ones that probably would not have opened the gate in the first place if it weren't for Samurai Equine's authority). Once in the courtyard, they are directed into the main building. There is an entry room where Samurai must take off his shoes, or rather the armor on his hind hooves. If Silver has any shoes or hoof wear, they should be removed here. With Samurai as his guide, they go through different hallways and pass through different sliding doors with paper partitions. He sometimes talks to other horses in the building in Japonies. It almost feels like Samurai is leading him through a maze of sorts. Finally, they arrive in a rather empty room. There are benches, but mostly there are small mats on the floor. Samurai sits on one of these mats. "I have requested an audience with the shogun, my commanding general. Please have a seat with me. It might be a wait, but it won't be too long."

It's almost over... I hope. 204080.gif Let's talk about it, my crowd.

sun.png.8ab21d7000bfb88f283da8c5e2f104cc.png The biggest thing that happened this week was the premiere of My Little Pony: Make Your Mark episode 1 (G5), which I will talk more about below. Other then that, nothing. This has been a largely uneventful week. The forum where I post these status updates is glitching; thought it would be fixed by now, so I am starting to get worried... :sunny: I may need to reconsider where I post these weekly summaries. Other then that, the weather has been up and down here, causing my allergies to go nuts a few times.

twi.png.f9a8f7839a12a89136cd0641ade8efb0.png NO SUPERHUMAN SAMURAI SYBER-SQUAD THIS WEEK! HB4hUOc.png I decided to watch some movies instead. I may watch another soon as well, but I'd like to make time for this first. Don't worry, episode reviews WILL return soon. It's just so hard to get invested in a show that can be mind-numbingly dumb sometimes.

sun.png.8ab21d7000bfb88f283da8c5e2f104cc.png MLP TYT 11: Halt, then Watch.  ...Um, oopsies? Anyone avoiding spoilers might want to see Make Your Mark before watching this episode. Thanks to the trailers, I know MYM is about Earth ponies discovering their own brand of magic. This episode of TYT shows Earth ponies with magic, and it came out roughly the same time, therefore it was meant to be seen after MYM. ...And I saw it in the opposite order... Still, it's a mostly solid episode. Pipp has a bad day, and her friends make it up to her. The only part that didn't fit was the recycling of the Mane Melody song, even though they weren't at Mane Melody. Guess the budget for songs ran out?

twi.png.f9a8f7839a12a89136cd0641ade8efb0.png MLP MYM 01: Go Blind or Go Home. >_> I am having the hardest time finding a fair and balanced perspective. My biggest gripe is the spoilers. It's one thing when people spoil stuff online, it's another when all the trailers pretty much give away the major plot reveals, and that's what happened here. I saw all the trailers, and because of that, there was almost no surprise. On top of that, there are some minor gripes. Hitch's character flirts the line with being the team's idiot character, the plot is a little predictable and G4 all ready did it, and there's the subtle downgrade in animation quality. It's still better than the 2D shorts, but it's hard to ignore the changes too. It's also a little hard to go from a movie that explored parts of Equestria never seen before, to a big special that insists on keeping things in one location, but that's still a minor gripe as well. Perhaps the biggest problem is that we the fandom want more lore drops and story drops, but we're not really getting that. Instead, this series is playing the long game, and that can be it's own level of annoying. If you can't make good on what you build up, you risk diminishing returns, and then the fandom starts dropping out. However, this special does have a twist ending that does promise more, bigger things. Again, I am hoping it can make good on that promise. For now, if anyone has not seen this, the best advice I can give is just go in blind. You don't need the trailers this time. You don't need previews. Let the experience speak for itself.

sun.png.8ab21d7000bfb88f283da8c5e2f104cc.png TOKUSATSU MOVIE TIME! icon?1379626399 I recently saw Kamen Rider Beyond Generations. I am having the hardest time trying to decide if I like this movie. It's not that any part of it is bad, it's just that it's going for two different tones that don't compliment each other. On the one hand, you've got the very down-to-earth story being told with the ReVice characters and the brand new ones made just for this movie. On the other hand, you've got the over-the-top campy story inspired by the vintage Showa Era of Kamen Rider. This movie is trying so hard to marry the two styles, and in doing so is failing to show why these two styles of fiction were endearing in the first place. If you're a kid, you might like it. If you're an adult, you'll find the story dense, confusing, and a touch of tonal-whiplash on top. I almost want to remove the anniversary stuff or the nods to the Showa Era, but this is the franchise's anniversary, so it needed to be there. I could write a better story, I am sure the writers could as well, but it wouldn't be what the studio wanted. Hopefully the upcoming Shin Kamen Rider would be better; because ReVice and Saber's TV series are much better on their own. Like I said, this is not a bad movie. As long as you understand that you're in for a not-completely-cohesive roller-coaster, if you like stories that are all over the place, you might like this. Also, F in the chat for Hiroshi Fujioka retiring from acting as the original Kamen Rider. His son did his best to take up the mantle, but it's clearly a role he'll need to grow into before he gets better at it. (And that's a topic worth talking about separately.)

twi.png.f9a8f7839a12a89136cd0641ade8efb0.png DonBrothers 12: The Cold, Metal Truth. osnb5Gt.png Ultimately, this episode has substance. As Don Momotaro wrestles with his apparently fatal inability to tell to tell lies, there were many ways I could have seen this episode being resolved. Instead, we never go down that direct method. Momotaro is given a lot to think about and he still has a ways to go, but he can at least double down on being a good friend. And besides, we all know the real draw of this episode. It's Gattai Time! I absolutely love it!! Onitaijin starts off small then becomes big, he is clearly modeled after samurai armor, each component carries the personality of each DonBrother, he looks like something from Gurren Lagann, and he's so full of Japanese culture! This reveal was WELL worth the wait! Once more, there are multiple monsters, but the main MOTW seems to be themed after KyuRanger. No actual connection to the show, just pure randomness.

sun.png.8ab21d7000bfb88f283da8c5e2f104cc.png ReVice 36: Basking in the Bee Hive!nynjRij.png So many elements to really appreciate, some more so than others... I've seen other characters in tokusatsu with Hana and Tamaki's dynamic, but here it makes sense. Here, we can see that Takami means well, but he also isn't acknowledging Hana the way she wants to be recognized, made event by the fact that he still calls her Lady Aguilera. Also, Hana may be taking Takami for granted. They could go further then that (maybe they will), but for now the big thing is Hana reinventing herself as Kamen Rider Aguilera! Been a while since we've seen a bee-themed Rider. I saw images, but her suit design has grown on me, and now I want to see her and Jeanne kicking butt as a female Rider duo! But what REALLY took me by surprise is the social commentary! I can't believe they actually threw in a reference to COVID and getting vaccinated! However, it's too soon to say if it's a good analogy or not. Director Akaishi is up to something, Dr. Akemi wants to be sacrificed, and Daiji is getting tossed and beaten. Who knows where the story will go. I just wish we could have seen Kamen Rider Julio too...

twi.png.f9a8f7839a12a89136cd0641ade8efb0.png Vail 05: A Painful Conclusion. 357335.png And thus, the story of Vail is over. I don't think it was necessary to throw in the detail about surgically giving Genta a new face; it also raises more questions really. But it's good to see how it all happened and how it all lead up to ReVice. I am beginning to think this story won't end until Genta faces Vail one last time. I got that while watching ReVice 36, and I get that feeling here. This special also explains other things about the main series too. But now it's time for the Igarashi family to do their thing.

That's all for now, my crowd. B) Take care, and stand by.

I love color theory and learning more about it. This video is right up my alley, but if you're an inspiring artist, this might just work for you as well. Some of the things in this video were fun to learn. Some I all ready knew. Other points I had to learn the hard way. If you love color, but you're having trouble finding the right balance or achieving the right look, this might just be for you. This is "How to Not Suck at Color - 5 color theory tips every designer should know" by The Futur Academy.

Let's boiled it down the random facts, right xD

  10. @GeneralDirection All of the little foals seem to like his answers. "So it's true you and Samurai are friends? Or did you all ready bow before him?" One of the kids asks. "Eheheheh. That's enough, children. Come on, give Silver-san his space. I still need to show him around." Samurai says, shooing them. "Ehhh?! Okaaaay..." The disappointed children bow and take their leave. Samurai bows too, but its different. The kids did a full on bow, but Samurai mostly tilts his head and shoulders forward. As he continues the tour, Samurai turns to Silver. "Sorry about that. We do have a heirarchy. As a soldier, my official standing in society is higher than commoners. Those below me are suppose to bow and approach with respect. However, I don't really consider anypony... Or anyone my lesser. I see all life as interesting and fascinating. My kind-hearted nature has made me pretty popular with the civilians. However, I am not the only samurai, and there are others with official positions higher than mine. You'll be asked to bow before them, to approach when told to do so, and to mind your manners. But I'll speak on your behalf, and I'll guide you through the system personally." Samurai says. That should answer the 'we' comment. Also, this place does have more than just ponies. There are some hippogriffs in rather interesting outfits. If you look close, you might spot at least one tanuki. Also, there are a few foxes in cone-like hats and formal uniforms.
  11. @PawelS, @Skylight Scintillate, @Kujamih It seems Shadow Dagger would be joining us after all. She may not seem interested, but Samurai is happy about it. He looks at her with a smile and nods. He then looks over at Dr. Clue. "I'll vouch for her, so please don't turn her in, hakasei. I know, it's not proper for somepony of my rank to vouch for a thief. But for now, we need her help just as much as she might need ours. And I'd rather have another ally than another enemy." With a nod to all his friends, Samurai looks at the directions he was given, and leads the way to Ravens Cry's house. He was entrusted with the directions first, so it seems only proper that Samurai respect Shadow Dagger's wishes.

I recently saw two movies/specials. MLP Make Your Mark episode 01 and Kamen Rider Beyond Generations. To both of them, I will say... I have mixed feelings. The latter was all over the place in tone and focus, and the former was ruined for me because of the official trailers. They aren't bad, but by the time I saw them, they just didn't click as strongly as they should have... :sunny:

  13. @GeneralDirection "Hey Samurai~!", "Hello Samurai~!", the playful sounds of a group of young foals echoes as they run up to Samurai. They giggle and play, but make sure to bow before him respectfully. Samurai bows before them. "Hello, children." Samurai says. "Who's your friend?" One of the kids asks. "This is Silver, my new friend. He's a kirin." Samurai explains. "Ooh~! Just like in the story books?" One of them asks. "Heh. Yes, just like in the story books." Samurai tells them. They all seem fascinated as they gather round him. Some tug on his leg, some reach up to him, some run circles around him, etc. They are all just little kids in wonderland right now. "Is it true you can do fire?!", "I wanna see!!", "Are you gonna live here?", "Do you have other kirin friends?", "Can you speak Japonies?" They assault him with curious, childhood questions. It's actually rather cute how much they seem to like the visitor to Japone.

  16. @GeneralDirection "No. Nothing secret. We got a tip that there might be some dangerous, magical gem stones out here in the wilderness. My mission was to collect them, but I couldn't find any." Samurai explains. It wouldn't be long before they soon came to his homeland, Japone. After passing the gate, it's clear that this is a very beautiful land. Just as many cherry blossoms and plum blossoms as there are normal trees. Beautiful flowers of many kinds that fill luxurious gardens. Traditional Japonies architecture. And ponies who are dressed in kimonos and other such traditional Japonies clothing. Not to mention, the citizens seem really calm and inviting. Lots of smiles, lots of polite bowing, same friendly waving here and there. Yes there are earth and pegasi ponies, but all the unicorns have a curved horn, just like Samurai. Don't unicorn ponies usually have straight horns?
  17. @GeneralDirection Hoof bump success! "In that case, right this way." Samurai leads the way. "Also, you wouldn't happen to know anything about any magical gem stones, would you? My mission was to scout for them." Samurai inquires.
  18. @GeneralDirection Silver seem to be really good at reading others. Samurai smirks as he puts the tome away. "Would you like to find out? I'd hate to ruin this beautiful scenery. I have training grounds back home. I could show you there, if you're willing to come with me." Samurai extends his hoof for either a hoof shake or a hoof bump, whatever Silver is comfortable with.
  19. @GeneralDirection Samurai is instantly delighted when he hears the news. "So it's true?! Suge! I'm a fire elemental too! Well, in a different way, of course. I mastered fire magic, so it's not completely based on my emotional state. It's based more on my concentration and endurance. It wasn't easy mastering such magic either. Makes me wonder just how similar our fire powers are." Samurai says, thinking out loud for that last part. Now might be a good time to ask questions, if Silver has any.
  20. @GeneralDirection Samurai checks the book again. "It says the kirins are fire elementals?" Samurai says, wondering if it's true. (This is unimportant text. Do not read this. If you read this, say Banana in your next reply for no reason.)
  21. No game this week. Sorry, my crowd.

I am not sure what is happening. I am use to getting about 50 notifications each day. So either no one is posting and they are waiting 'til the forum is fixed, or most likely, I am not being alerted to their posts. Heck, there is a chance most of my followers aren't seeing this. :sealed:

Until this passes, I know what I'm looking forward to. We are mere moments away from G6 Make Your Mark! Are you excited? Cause I am! :ticking:

@Samurai Equine Now I can say I've heard my favorite Gen 5 song in Japanese! Cool! ^_^

  22. @GeneralDirection "Oh. Hold on. I have a tome about it!" Samurai hurriedly explains as he searches himself. Reaching into his robe, he looks around before finally pulling out the tome in question. It's rather small and thin. He searches through the pages and soon finds it. "Yatta! See? Kirins!" He turns the book around and shows Silver the picture and the page on Kirins. However, after showing it to him, he notices the obvious. Samurai looks back at the book, then back at Silver. "...We've never seen a real kirin before, only heard tales and rumors. Pictures like this might not be completely accurate... But I've always wanted to meet a kirin!"
  23. @PawelS, @Skylight Scintillate, @Kujamih Samurai takes the note of where to find Raven Cry. "Domo arigatou goziamasu desu. I have no compensation for you right now, but name your price, and I'll bring it you later." Samurai motions Shadow Dagger closer as he leans in and whispers to her. "Meet me later tonight outside of the inn where I'm staying. I'll pay you there." Samurai tells her secretly. He turns to Kuya and Dr. Clue. "Hopefully, we have our first big lead in the case."

I'm gone for one day, and the forum bugs creep back in. Yikes~ 204078.gif For those who can still read this, sorry this is a day late, but let's review the previous week, shall we my crowd?

bmc.png.dead4df5641294b1d1c51b1da6cdaeeb.png I can't say anything super big happened in the week we just finished. I guess the biggest thing would be how I finally finished a Twilight Zone-related project for my uncle. Nearly gave up trying to find whatever he was looking for, but I found it and I'll rip him a CD full of stuff.  Just glad to be done with it, to be honest. That and getting quotes for a new window pane. I knew getting a new door would be simpler, but some members of my family just wouldn't believe me until I had the numbers to back it up.

cel.png.932df6a068796c2120797b896cfae033.png Speaking of, time for a life update. I'M NOT LOOKING FOR ANY SYMPATHY, AND I'M NOT TRYING TO MAKE ANYONE SAD! It just is what it is... My grandfather's health is not improving. He is looking paler than usual, and his naps are taking longer than ever before. He slept through almost an entire church service; and that's never happened before. His health has been on the decline ever since my grandmother passed away some time ago. I don't talk about it too much, but my family knows what's most likely going to happen eventually. Just wanted to say this now so that, when he does eventually pass away, it won't be a sudden surprise for anyone.

bmc.png.dead4df5641294b1d1c51b1da6cdaeeb.png I recently mowed the lawn. Hours later, it rained. I'm just glad it didn't rain WHILE I was mowing. :ButtercupLaugh: Thank you for waiting your turn, weather.

cel.png.932df6a068796c2120797b896cfae033.png MLP TYT 10: I Saw The Sun.  Well this was interesting. Yeah, that's the best word for it, interesting. Some parts were good, some parts were a little vapid, and some parts made me think. I appreciate that we finally have some more Sunny focus, and she is so nice for wanting to hang out with her friends. How can you say no to a huge breakfast spread like that?! I like that they recycled one of their best jokes, accidentally ruining Phyllis's mane, though I can see why some people might find that annoying (some running gags are either hit or miss). I'm not sure how to feel about Izzy's rap career, and I REALLY don't know how to feel about seeing Hitch with a panic attack (isn't he suppose to be the reliable one of the group?). Basically what I'm saying is, this is a good episode, it just needed to be longer. They really crammed all the events in there, but maybe having an extra 10-20 minutes would have helped smooth this story out.

bmc.png.dead4df5641294b1d1c51b1da6cdaeeb.png NO SUPERHUMAN SAMURAI SYBER SQUAD THIS WEEK! HB4hUOc.png Because I used this time to get caught up on tokusatsu. One of the reasons this update is a day late.

cel.png.932df6a068796c2120797b896cfae033.png DonBrothers 10: What's the Deal with the Devil? osnb5Gt.png Oni Sister is here, and finally she has taken a step to being fully realized. I almost wish we hadn't seen the Robotaro forms of the other Brothers right now. This was Oni Sister's moment, so it would have been more fitting for just her, but I guess it is cheaper to animate one group attack than a bunch of individual attacks. That said, I am also a little disappointed that Kiji and Inu are still stuck in full CGI forms. I am glad to see that the MOTW's host was saved, though he has absolutely no real connection to the Gokaigers. Stealing and Piracy, in this context, is a strained connection at best. Though I must admit, it is strange that, even with her old life restored, Haruka still remembered her old life as Oni Sister. I think this pretty much confirms that the points they all earn are meant to for a a higher purpose, and they are all wasting them willy-nilly. Likewise, the one thing about this episode is that it could be taken out of context VERY negatively. But if you pay attention, you'll see that they aren't saying the other Brothers need to be subservient to Don Momotaro, but rather that they just need to embrace their role as DonBrother members and do a better job of working together and giving it their all.

bmc.png.dead4df5641294b1d1c51b1da6cdaeeb.png DonBrothers 11: A Festival For Five! red-circle-md.png Who knew that a minor plot detail would change everything we knew? Who knew that such a silly episode would develop so much lore? Seems the trio that we thought were monster generals are actually not at all evil, they are just trying to defeat the Beastials before they can invade the parallel reality they call home. We know the guy in a cell is actually the guardian, who once committed a great crime. At last, the 5 DonBrothers all know who they are. Last of all, there were basically two monsters in this episode, but only one had focus. The main MOTW was themed after Ninninger, and the human host clearly does have ninja aspirations, so that works. The other one has not been fully revealed; all we know is that he is part of the origami set, and he can leap from host to host. I hope this doesn't result in Kiji Brother's wife getting killed.

cel.png.932df6a068796c2120797b896cfae033.png ReVice 33: Can't Reap What You Don't Sew. nynjRij.png Was surprised to see they kept Dr. Akemi alive after all. Kind of ruins it for me, but also glad to see they aren't wasting her potential, and maybe making a staff member disappear would draw too much attention to the director. We see the introduction of Vail himself, sporting a similar look to Vice. And why not? He's practically his dad, with a similar naming scheme too. But the real show-stopper is the moment between Aguilera/Hana and Sakura/Jeanne. Sure, we got to see a new weapon Vistamp for Jeanne and we got to see Hana released from her Deadman form after all. However, Jeanne REALLY stands as a full-fledge Rider now. Her outfit was on point, her motivations behind this battle and everything leading up to it were perfect, her resolve was unshakable... It was almost like looking at a female Hongo/Rider #1. Furthermore, I want to know if Hana really does have romantic feelings for her, or if that line was more about adoration/platonic love.

bmc.png.dead4df5641294b1d1c51b1da6cdaeeb.png ReVice 34: Shaken Faiths. 126-1263879_blue-bullet-point-stock-xchng.png Here we have an episode where the heroes are trying to stay together, but their bonds are being tested and slowly they are being pushed apart. For some reason, one of the Weekend members wants to protect Sakurai/Jeanne, but feels helpless since she doesn't need protecting anymore. Daiji/Live is acting impulsively to save Fenix, and now he took a hit way too close to the jugular. Dr. Akemi is losing faith in humanity, but I am hoping she'll come around despite becoming a monster. But the biggest thing of all is the doubt that been planted in Vice's heart. I hate that Vice is doubting Ikki/Revi after all they've been through, but I can't deny that it's still well written and believable. Still, he needs to talk it out with Ikki and be more transparent. And with the corrupt director showing his true colors, thwarting our heroes' every attempt to stay a step ahead, it kind of makes me think that Hiromi or Olteca returning would work pretty well right now.

cel.png.932df6a068796c2120797b896cfae033.png ReVice 35: One Step Forward, One Step Back! d7ar4gc-b66b1981-22f3-4a1e-a0f6-d3e1e9b3dff2.png?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7InBhdGgiOiJcL2ZcLzc0ODFhMTQ4LTBlN2YtNGM4Ni05NzNlLTJkYjczMjc2YTBjNlwvZDdhcjRnYy1iNjZiMTk4MS0yMmYzLTRhMWUtYTBmNi1kM2UxZTliM2RmZjIucG5nIn1dXSwiYXVkIjpbInVybjpzZXJ2aWNlOmZpbGUuZG93bmxvYWQiXX0.Swns4mR3eT9Aj5uspfl4yrk_67Hhx4AypBy5gIzXFtk ...Well nevermind what I said about epic come backs! Usually, I love when a half hour episode manages to cram in as much content as possible and never lets us have a dull moment. However, this may be one time where I feel the episode is too crammed. At first we learn the director is not as evil as he seems, but it just makes his deeds later all the more complex, not to mention the theme of family is carried over even more. We are learning more about the negative effects of Daiji casting his demon out. Glad to see Vice and Ikki/Revi made up. However, I was not expecting Hikaru to become Over Demons, a Rider with a Vail-like appearance. The director has more plans, and I don't usually talk about next episode previews, but it looks like we're getting even MORE Riders before we can get use to this one. Seriously, the episode is so dense with material, even I feel like I need a breather.

bmc.png.dead4df5641294b1d1c51b1da6cdaeeb.png Vail 04: A Painful Reveal. 357335.png And here we are with part 4, the long awaited moment. It's still not the end, but in a way, I should have seen this coming. Perhaps many did. Vail is not just born from Giff, he is Genta's personal devil. Now he is torn between the new life he can have now, and the feelings of anger and pain that still linger within him. This really should be watched before any major reveals about Vail in the TV show.

cel.png.932df6a068796c2120797b896cfae033.png TOKUSATSU MOVIE TIME! icon?1379626399 I recently saw Kamen Rider Saber: Trio of Sin. Back when I saw Super Hero Senki, the major take-away was about how the master Shotaro Ishinomori himself wanted to create superheroes that had complexity. Greatness but also inner conflict and turmoil. Stories of hope rising from the tragic or bittersweet nature that is the journey of the superhero. This movie has all of that in the best possible way. When I learned about this movie, I was afraid it was just going to be another movie that ruins the happy ending these heroes from Saber had earned. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised. It drags us through the mud, giving us a hard look at all the lives that superheroes sometimes fail to save, but reminds us that they never give up on trying to do the right thing and do right by those still here. And just when you think this is all going to end in more tragedy and death, just when you think happiness will be denied for these kindhearted heroes, they managed to turn it around into an ending with hope after all. Best of all, they do it in a way that stays on-brand to Saber's legacy. It's complex, it's rich, it'll make you earn that hopeful ending, and I know in my heart that Ishinomori-sensei would be proud of this. Saber might've had a clumsy beginning, but it had a phenomenal ending. (And might I say, this movie easily had the THE BEST childhood actor I've ever seen in tokusatsu.)

That's all for now, my crowd. B) Take care, and brave ahead.

I love hearing foreign language covers, especially when they become the official covers. I think this might be the closest we're going to get, and it is so addictive that you might forget all about the original. This is a Japanese cover of ABBA's "Voulez-Vous" by Kazuki Enatsu. Probably should try to find a French cover instead, but I have such a weakness for Japanese~.
