Back for the final time... It's time for another round of Ponies Listen to Sonic Music.
Last time, I imagined what would happen if the G4 Ponies listened to all the vocal music from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Which songs would they like? Which ones would they connect with?
You wanted a TRILOGY of this, so here we go! By popular demand, here is the third and final volume (for now).
"And together, we can overcome all the odds." (We Can)
"Today's the day! Today's a new day! Today's the day! I'm gonna change my way." (A New Day)
"Floating as a dream, in a bliss that you no longer feel time~" (Un-Gravitify)
"I've gotta be so much more than this. But what can I be if not me?" (So Much More...)
"DinosChangelings! All over! It's a jungle! The wicked wild~!" (The Wicked Wild)
"My eyes are filled with curiosity. You think that you have power over me~!" (With Me)
"Make beliefs reborn. Myths in mind rethought. Question all that's known. Legends blurred and torn." (Seven Rings in Hand ~Fairytales in Trance~)
"Moonlight all around~ (My eyes are shining) Shadows on the ground~ (My mind is flying) Will there ever be an end?" (Moonlight Battlefield)
And that's all I can think of. You don't have to agree with my choices. Honestly, it was hard assigning songs for these characters this time around. But I think this will be the last I do for now. Sorry if you didn't see your favorite character, but these are about all the ones I would ever consider main characters. Any others either deserve an instrumental or one of those songs with filler vocals. If I tried to assign a song to every last character, I feel like there'd be no end to this.
Hope you liked all three entries!
Take care, my crowd.

you know .. you always impress me with your texts as well :>
Take care
Random fact:
This legendary video is nearly two decades old
Spoiler -
Glad you enjoyed the journey.

When G5 airs its main series and we get to know the characters a little more, I might do this again for the G5 ponies. But right now? It's too soon.I remember that video.
Thanks for that piece of nostalgia, my cosmic friend.

Cute Celestia?!
My heart can't take it~!
How goes it, my crowd?
I saw the Sonic Origins trailer today. How funny it would drop on 4/20. All I know is, I went from not caring to REALLY wanting this! I usually don't care about game compilations or the millionth port or old games, but this is different. All games remastered in widescreen HD?! New content?! AND new animated cutscenes?! YES PLEASE!!
...Am I missing something?
Was a new episode of Tell You Tale suppose to come out? I am seeing leaked preview footage for the main series, but nothing for TYT. Just a 40 second clip on YouTube. Apparently, other countries are all ready an episode ahead of us? If they are taking the episodes off YouTube and premiering them somewhere else, please let me know. I don't necessarily want to pay for these shorts, I just want to be updated.
Take care, my crowd.

It's time once again to Equip the Script! Can you guess the right answer?
In Episode 22, A Bird in the Hoof, everypony has gathered together at Sugar Cube Corner for a special visit from Princess Celestia. However, Applejack is having a hard time observing proper dinner party etiquette. "Uh... which is the salad and which is the appetizer again? And which am I supposed to eat first?" She goes for the Mixed Fruit Bowl first, then changes her mind and goes for the Mac & Cheese next, then changes her mind again and goes for the Cherry Cobbler. She is completely lost on where to begin. What does she say next?
A. "Oh, never mind. I figured it out."
B. "Oh, never mind. I'm not hungry."
C. "Oh, never mind. I ate before I got here."
D. "Oh, never mind. These are all plastic decorations."And yes, the question is a trick question~!
- There is no limit on who can win this game.
- Answer the question correctly, become a 1st place winner.
- Find the trick part of the question, and you become an S-Rank winner.
- Comment, leave extra quotes or trivia, or do anything else, and you get a bonus hug.
Good luck, my crowd.

Burn on, Leo. Burn on~!
How goes it, my crowd?
SO MUCH I SAW TODAY!
Elements of Justice just posted a new video for the next story. Looks like we're getting the next chapter sooner than I thought. Also, YES! Thor 4. I don't even care what it's about, just go, go, go!! I was SO hoping one of these characters would break the 3 movie tradition and give us a fourth. I NEVER expected it to be Thor. I kind of expected it from Spider-Man, honestly. But I'm ready to go full throttle with this!
Not much to say for now, so let's just move onto some words of wisdom.
Love and Endearment at First Sight can be a wonderful thing, but only when it happens naturally. Don't try to force it.
SpoilerMany things fall into our lives that we weren't expecting. A TV show or movie we never thought we'd watch. A pet we'd never thought we'd have. A new kind of food we'd never heard of before. And somehow, we end up loving it. Sometimes we love it instantly, other times it grows on us, but the feeling is pretty much the same. It's like love at first sight, or a strong endearment. You never expected to have these feelings, yet here you are, and all because you saw that spark of something special. However, the beauty of this feeling comes from the unexpected. You WEREN'T expecting to feel this way. You WEREN'T planning for this development in your life. That's why these feelings are wonderful, and that's the only way it works. If you go looking for this feeling, if you try to force it or judge everything by whether or not you feel this strong emotion, it's just not going to work. You're just setting yourself up for disaster.
Think of it in terms of falling in love with a fellow human. Perhaps it was love at first sight. Maybe the two of you had something for a while, but eventually it ended. Well that's tough, but if you go looking for a brand new significant other, it would be wrong to judge everyone by whether or not you feel some kind of instant chemistry at first glance. That's an impossibly high standard. No one can live up to that. Emotions are fleeting, random, and sometimes misleading. You could not only get a false reading on someone, but at the same time, you could deprive yourself of having a fun time with someone else. Maybe the two of you were more compatible than you realized. Maybe you just deprived yourself out of some wonderful experiences that you would have loved. Now you're stuck on the outside looking in, wondering what could have been. Life is about more than what you might have a sudden or instant connect with.
So rather than placing you bets on experiencing magical, random, instantaneous feelings that only mother nature can control; let things happen naturally. Let things, people, and life speak for itself naturally. You may not like what you see at first, but dig under the surface a little, and you might find something you could grow to enjoy. Many people get lead astray when they start off or go in with unreasonable expectations. Rather than just living in the moment, they were looking something specific at the very beginning, and they get disappointed when it doesn't happen. But that's not life's fault, that not someone else's fault. Really, it's no one's fault but your own. I've done this a time or two myself. It's a hard lesson to learn, but it's important. No matter how much you might want it, you can't make an apple taste like an orange. You can't turn mud into diamonds. However, you can still have fun. Let apples be apples, let mud be mud, and just try to accept things for what they are. Forget about what you want for a brief moment. Switch your mind fame. New day, clean slate, no expectations.
If something still lets you down after all that, then it wasn't meant to be. But at least you can hold your head up proudly and say "I tried". There's nothing wrong with that. However, you just might find there's more to enjoy in this life than you ever expected.
Take care, my crowd.

Hello there, my crowd! Welcome to my Weekly Musings: Orange Edition.
[I ❤ JAPAN] -- [I ❤ THE COLOR RED] -- [I ❤ CELESTIA]
Feel free to leave a video request. Your video will eventually be featured in a future Weekly Musings entry!
Did you find all the hidden treasures, my crowd?
Let's review.
The biggest thing that happened this week was EASTER!
Everything went exactly as planned. I went to church. Had a huge lunch with my family (I made avocado hummus). Had a small amount of candy (as per tradition, though I don't search for eggs anymore). Took some time to just relax and have a break from the normal weekly activities. It was good!
Worked really hard this week. Had to do some lawn care. The belt I use nearly every day broke on me. I need to get some new socks. There's been some minor inconveniences here and there too...
But there were GOOD parts of the week too! I got a replacement belt, and it seems to be a better size too.
I'm working on some new art just for fun. And speaking of fun, I have a Derpibooru account now. Not sure how active I am going to be on there. I am just thankful no one has uploaded my art there. I decided I wanted to do it myself before anyone else decided to repost my art without my permission (which I hear is a big problem over there). Plus, I would not be surprised if some of the less-active friends I've made here are more active on Derpibooru.
Also, I got to try a new soda flavor, Mtn Dew Frost Bite! And oh my gosh my crowd, it is so worth it!!
Maybe I am so deprived that I am fooling myself, but I swear it tastes just like Pepsi Blue. Not completely, it's still trying to be Mtn Dew at the end of the day, but the flavor is SO similar. The differences are minor at best.
NO SUPERHUMAN SAMURAI SYBER SQUAD THIS WEEK!
I got so busy preparing for Easter and having to deal with everything else, I just ran out of time. However, I want to make note of some changes going forward... I've noticed by now that this show has recycled monster footage multiple times. Gridman episodes 4, 5, 13, 14, 21, and 33 have been repeated twice now; sometimes for a cold opening, sometimes for the episode events themselves. As such, the way I make personal notes is going to change. I will still make comparisons to Gridman, but the point is to see if SSSS ever commissioned new monster footage from Japan for not. I doubt it, but since there is no documented record of this, I will find out for myself.
ReVice 29: Closed For Review.
Oh great, a clip show episode... And they did throw in a little bit of plot, but not enough. Worst of all, they brought back Hiromi. It really cheapens the ultimate heroic sacrifice when you bring a character back to life like this. I just hope that they actually make up for it in the episodes that follow. ReVice was doing SO well with its story up to this point. And I'm not exactly looking forward to the next episode either.
Vail 02: A Painful Connection.
Who knew these little snippets of story would end up being more entertaining than the weekly episodes? Not much happening here other than some build up. George's young father is having second thoughts about working for Noah, and now Yukimi is mixed up in all of this to the point where she's a prisoner. It's a transitional episode mostly, the next one will matter more, but at least it's not bogged down by a clip show or sudden character revivals.
DonBrothers 06: Real Men Wear Pink!
This was a humble little episode that focused on Kiji Brother. The lore drops were the underpinnings of this episode, something about the DonBrothers earning points. The ending is what caught me by surprised. I kind of new Don Momotaro would win. He said he succeeds at everything and Kiji Brother says he fails at everything; who did you think was going to win? But I didn't expect Don Momotaro to admit defeat when he saw how happy Kiji and his wife are. For the sake of the series, I really hope they stay married. It would be so easy to ruin his life and make him single just to appeal to a younger demographic or some other shallow reason. Oni has lost her fame; being accused of plagiarism. Inu has been framed for a crime he didn't commit. Saru is holding his own bad luck at bay by being a freeloading hippy. I'd like to think that Kiji's natural bad luck and awkwardness counts as enough bad karma as it is. That should be enough to keep even more bad luck away, right? Hope so.
That's all for now, my crowd.
Take care, and stay sweet.
This video might be long, but it's good to see just how far CGI cartoons have come, and how far back it actually started! I am happy to say that we are entering a time where people are complaining less and less about CGI, to the point were people are only criticizing if it was somehow bad enough to ruin your immersion. Also, I think I grew up with half or less of the CGI cartoons mentioned in this video. This is "Early CGI Was Horrifying" by KnowledgeHusk.
-
-
-
A critic once told me that when CGI is good, you might not even know it was there at all. I've seen CGI used in subtle ways to make a scene look better, but I've also seen it look so realistic that you'd think real models, suits, and props were used. There's lots of movies that are using heavy amounts, but it's getter better and easier to look at.
At least I think so.
Same to you, my cosmic buddy.

When you shine with so much fabulousness...

How goes it, my crowd?
I do like that chromatic sky-to-ground gradient.
HAPPY EASTER!
I'm gonna be celebrating it with my family. (I made avacado hummus that is to die for.)
This week has been very tough. Had to mow the lawn and do a bunch of hard work. Didn't even have time to do that third round of Ponies and Sonic music, but I will do it eventually. Promise! But it's also been rewarding. I got a new belt, some candy for Easter Sunday (sans the egg hunt), and I tried a new soda flavor. Mtn Dew Frost Bite. It was SO good!
Hope everyone has had a good week. And if not, we'll make the next one better!
Take care, my crowd.

Let's proofread the script~! It's time now to go over the results of Tuesday's game!
THE ★★★★★ S-RANK WINNERS ARE: @TomDaBombMLP
THE 1st PLACE WINNERS ARE: @Rising Dusk
THE 2nd PLACE WINNERS ARE: @Stone Cold Steve Jobs
The correct answer is C. "Huffy the Magic Dragon." But apparently, there are fans who don't realize that line is a reference.
Fluttershy's joke is a reference to the song "Puff The Magic Dragon" by Peter, Paul and Mary. In that spirit, all the other choices in my game were also references. A is a reference to musician Sean Puffy Combs (also known as Puff Daddy and P. Diddy). B is a reference to the animated TV show "Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi". D is a reference to the 1969 kid's TV show "H.R. Pufnstuf".
As for the twist part of the question, Spike actually said "Aw, for Pete's sake!", and Pinkie never said "Hey, come out and play!", but she did sing it a little later in that episode.
Take care, my crowd.

I told Sunny about how awesome matcha lattes are. She tried it, and now she agrees with me!

How goes it, my crowd?
My favorite belt broke today.
Yep. I was just putting it on, and the buckle broke. Turns out it was made of plastic. It looked like metal, it was chromed over like metal, it even passed the cold touch method! But on the inside, you could tell, it was plastic. Now I need to get a new one.
In other news, I decided to start designing a red variant of my OC, just for fun. Might make it using Photoshop for once. Just need to find a fun pose for him.
He's not a replacement for my OC's usual color scheme, I just like the color red. It's my favorite color.
Take care, my crowd.

It's time once again to Equip the Script! Can you guess the right answer?
In Episode 21, Over A Barrel, Spike has had enough of his pony friends interrupting his sleep. "ENOUGH!" Spike yells before storming off into another room. "Hey, come out and play!" Pinkie says, trying to encourage Spike to come back. "Well that was kind of huffy." Twilight says, surprised at his sudden outburst. What does Fluttershy say as a joke?
A. "Sean Huffy Combs."
B. "Hi Hi Huffy AmiYumi."
C. "Huffy the Magic Dragon."
D. "H.R. Huffnstuff"And yes, the question is a trick question~!

S-Rank winner, claim your chicken dinner.
Actually, ALL the options are references to other things. Can you guess the references?
If you can, I'll make you a Double S-Rank winner! ...No I won't. That's not a thing that exists. But I WILL give you a special hug!
(Whistles and hides my alt Gmail account) ... You see nothing.
Winner. Try to save a slice of victory for the whole class, champ.

@Samurai Equine Oh, I don't know.
Probably an anime or something.

@TomDaBombMLP Nope. Not a single one is an anime.
It's all right, my friend. Some of the references were before your time.

Hello there, my crowd! Welcome to my Weekly Musings: Red Edition.
[I ❤ JAPAN] -- [I ❤ THE COLOR RED] -- [I ❤ CELESTIA]
Feel free to leave a song request. Your song will eventually be featured in a future Weekly Musings entry!
Once again, I failed to post this on Sunday night because I genuinely ran out of time. I'll explain shortly.
Let's review the week we left behind, shall we?
I guess the biggest thing about last week was... THE PREMIERE OF MLP: TELL YOUR TALE!
Like the majority of the fandom, when I first heard this series was going to be comedy-focused, I was also afraid we were getting another Pony Life or something similar to Teen Titans Go. The animation style didn't help either. However, what I found instead was something surprisingly good! There were story driven moments, and moments that picked up where the movie left off. There were some genuine character moments that kept the integrity of the movie; these characters still felt like the characters we met the first time. Yes there was comedy, but it wasn't forced and it wasn't trying to be wall-to-wall jokes. In fact, these shorts felt like slightly condensed episodes that could have EASILY fit in with Friendship is Magic. Times are different, characters are different, but the déjà vu was real (I think we even have a new Derpy-esque character!). Top it all off, we even got a song that was fairly decent. Throughout the whole thing, I only found two major cons. Izzy's voice is still the hardest one for me to get use to, but at least her character is in tact. There were moments where Hitch was almost downgraded to the show's idiot, but I really hope they don't go all the way there and remember his good qualities (I'd rather have comedic stuff happening to him rather than him be the joke). But if those are the only cons I can think of, then we're in good hands. Maybe this animation might not be for everyone, but I think it serves a bigger purpose. It's here to help us get use to the new voice actors, it's showing us that we'll be in good hands as far as writing, and that hopefully the best is yet to come.
I've also been working hard on my own house which felt like it was falling apart.
I had to reattach a door and a piece of the door frame. It was attached with nails instead of locking screws. Had to get my uncle to help me with that. Next, I had to do some plumbing work in my bathroom. The cold water handle for the shower was leaking, so I had to fix that. Got some new handles too, though I am not sure they fit correctly? Still, it works better than it did before. There may be other things to fix, but one victory at a time.
At least I got that sponge I ordered. It came in SUPER fast!
And I also got to try Coca Cola Starlight. ... Nah, I won't be going back to that. The flavors I got from it were Coke, cinnamon, mud, a moment of flavorlessness, and I swear a hint of natural mint. These flavors never achieved any kind of balance or harmony. I've tasted way better drinks that were space or galaxy flavored.
SUPERHUMAN SAMURAI SYBER SQUAD!
My thoughts:
- Episode 12, where the amorous writing hits critical mass to the point of being self-aware. Actually, this plot is highly original, and it shows Malcom's artistic side might be more connected to his character than Takeshi's artistic side, but this is still a very dumb episode. There have been plenty of other Gridman episodes where people are swept out of their normal world and implanted somewhere else, but this is the first time where it's been done via pom-poms. The monster footage comes from Gridman episode 4. Yay, healing scene. Gotta say, this is one minor strength the adaption has from shuffling episodes; they've re-contextualized things. Instead of an early episode where Gridman doesn't have an arsenal yet, Servo has been shut off from his friends/arsenal, thus forcing him to work solo. Also, there's the fact that we aren't getting any G-Calls to warn us about danger. Still, by comparison, Gridman 4 is better than this simply because, in that episode, Digifer was slowly making himself known to the world. It was an episode that would be relevant to the overall series plot later on, and this episode of SSSS probably won't be.
- Episode 13, cold opening footage comes from Gridman 33. Plotwise, it's similar to Gridman 28; however, instead of Takeshi capturing his love interest Yuka to admire forever, Malcom has captured Sam to teach him a lesson about loneliness. I can only imagine how shippers might interpret this episode if this show was made recently. Also, SWEET SYBER SPACE! Sam did the “Access Flash” pose to become Servo! And, uhh... Half a healing scene? Last of all, the ending gag shouldn't even be possible. These two episodes are piratically tied. I almost don't want to pick a winner. However, since Digifer and Takeshi get greedy and decide to capture more than one hostage, it basically raises the steaks. Reluctantly, I'll say Gridman 28 wins, but just barely.
- Episode 14, once again, the plot is original. Like Yuta, Sam is having a moment where his grades are slipping, he can't quite balance all the things in his life, and he is at odds with his role as a superhero. However, it's only in this show where Kilo is brainwashed into being nice. Interestingly, they recycled footage from the virtual reality game in Gridman 15, basically calling it a Servo simulator. And another awesome use of mixed stock footage to make it look like Sam/Servo explored an empty/peaceful digital world! Seeing Malcom make a halfhearted attempt to blend in with Team Samurai is next level; really makes you wonder how Takeshi would have reacted in the same scenario. Once more, the monster footage comes from Gridman 5. Now it finally is beginning to make sense why this show has more episodes than its Japanese counterpart. It's kind of hard to judge this since we all ready had an episode that was similar to its Japanese counterpart. Any points of contrast I could mention hardly seem worth it. I let Gridman win last time, so I'll let this episode of SSSS win this time and hope that the events in this episode have a lasting impact.
- Episode 15, cold opening comes from Gridman 14. ...”Demeganize”? Call it what you want, as long as we have a healing scene. The main plot and monster footage are based on Gridman 21. However, they can't show public execution in an American kids show in the 90's, so they just went ham with a dozen different nightmare scenarios for Sam. ...They choose NOW to end episodes on a PSA?! Besides ending on a note that messes with people's minds, I think the answer is clear. Even if I throw out the dream comparisons, altering a smart machine that promotes better dreams makes more sense that altering an alarm clock to give someone perpetual nightmares. Gridman 21 is the winner.
- Episode 16, cold opening comes from Gridman 24. The main monster footage and the plot are lifted mostly from Gridman 14 (again). In both episodes, Takeshi and Malcom have shallow reasons for messing with time, but at least Malcom is trying punish Team Samurai, even if he narratively shouldn't know they are in change of Servo's actions. Yay healing scene. Wow, no PSA ending? Talk about inconsistent. The episode does end with Kilo making an ominous declaration, but taking a peek ahead, it doesn't seem to go anywhere right away. This time, it's a tie, hands down. Both win. SSSS 16 wins because Malcom having a stronger sense of priorities, and Gridman 14 wins because it shows Ippei as more than just a pointless romantic rival for Naoto. If ending of this episode was actually alluding to something big, then that would have made the adaption the winner for sure.
ReVice 28: For One's Self!
With a new stamp, Ikki and Vice did it. They are back, stronger than ever. Revice Thunder Gale premieres, and while striking the original Kamen Rider's fighting pose! I was also not expecting George to transform! He wasn't very good in combat, but I'd rather have Demons be a good guy than a bad guy any day! But now that the Igarashi father has his memories back, he has made a drastic retreat. How many want to bet that this was easily the wrong/dumbest move to make? And just like that, I am caught up with the TV show!!
Vail 01: A Painful Past.
The story of Vail starts off with a lot of tragedy, but some of it seems familiar, so you have a pretty good idea of where it's going to go. Heck, if you've watched ReVice up to this point, you all ready know where some of this is leading. However, I must say, I am getting huge Showa Era vibes. The Noah organization is reminding me a lot of Shocker, just a little more militaristic in style. Perhaps if Shocker didn't have some kind of mind-altering control over their monsters and minions, they might be doing the same as Noah, treating their soldiers like caged animals, only letting them loose to fight their battles for them.
DonBrothers 05: Pet the Doggo!
In this episode, we learn more about Inu Brother, but in doing so, it unknowingly draws the team closer together. You really feel for the guy when he starts to cry; he's clearly forgotten what it's like to have people that care about you, but he's always been a good guy deep down inside. There's also something meta about seeing the five of them together yet clearly not realizing they are all Don Brothers. The others I can understand, but there's almost no excuse for not seeing that Momoi Tarou is Don Momotaro. Still, as I said before, I love how this show is taking its time to build everything up. And it's interesting that they don't all have the same Sentai changing gears. This week's gear is the PatRanger gear, which makes sense considering the monster's host was a detective with an obsession over serving justice and getting promoted.
That's all for now, my crowd.
Take care, and stay orderly.
I can't remember if I shared this yet or not, but I doubt any of my followers remember anyways. I can't even remember how I found this song. Still, if you like grungy punk rock, you might enjoy this too. This is "Million Years" by Nico Vega.
