    Hey there, my crowd!

    A personal thanks to all who have been supporting me in my time of loss. I'm feeling better now. Not perfect, but better.  :proud: I'll feel 100% soon enough. I need to get together with my family and pay proper tribute to my aunt's passing, but I'll be okay.

    ... Also, Sonic the Hedgehog just had a huge double trailer drop. :wacko: Has anyone seen this? What's next, a trailer for Sonic Prime?

    It's time once again to Equip the Script! Can you guess the right answer? :darling:

    In Episode 5, Griffon The Brush Off, Gilda ruins Pinkie Pie's party with a rude declaration, to which Rainbow Dash responds "You know Gilda, I was the one that set up all those weak pranks at this party. So I guess I'm queen lame-o." Flabbergasted, Gilda defensively says "Come on, Dash, you're joshing me!" Still, Rainbow Dash stays strong. She faces Gilda and tells her "They weren't all meant for you specifically. It was just dumb luck that you set them all off; and you sure didn't need any help making a fool of yourself. You know, this is not how I thought my old friend would treat my new friends! If being cool is all you care about, maybe you should go find some new cool friends someplace else." That was the last straw. What was Gilda's snappy comeback?

    A. "Yeah? Well, you... You... You are such an-- A traitor! Cool one minute and lame the next."
    B. "Yeah? Well, you... You... You are such an-- A flipflop! Cool one minute and lame the next."

      It's definitely C. I remember thinking 'Flipflop? Seriously? That's the best insult you can come up with?' 

      I think the trick here is that there are quite a few lines inbetween missing. Gilda says 'What?' before Rainbow Dash's 'Queen lame-o' line. And after RD has said 'set them all off.' Pinkie says 'I should've known. That [?] had Rainbow Dash written all over it.' Gilda still thinks Pinkie set up the party to trick her up and make a fool of her. Defensively, Pinkie says that she threw the party to improve her attitude, thinking a good party might turn her frown upside-down. That's when Rainbow says 'And you sure didn't need any help making a fool of yourself.'

      *breathes* That's a long one. :twi:

    @Pastel Heart Trilby scoots a little closer. "To be honest... I've never done any of this before. I never went camping, I just read about it and prepared for it. This is my first time roughing it. I just hope I'm doing everything right... Truth is, I'm just a humble hat maker, but I've always dreamed of doing more. I've always dreamed of traveling to far places, going on epic quests, and maybe saving the day. I've wondered what it would be like to make to friends with all kinds of creatures, like mighty centaurs, rainbow colored changelings, wild griffons, and more~ Do you think I'm asking for too much in life?" Trilby asks. He could use a hug.

    Sorry this update is a day late, my crowd. 1924175.png My weekend was so full of activity, I ran out of time to post this.

I downloaded a video game, I did a lot of Christmas shopping (and I'm still not done), got a Christmas tree & decorated it, I got together with my family for lunch on Sunday as usual, made plans for one of my uncle's birthday, got groceries, and watched two movies. Basically, all my free time was used up. :twilightcutehat: I don't regret any of it, though! All of it was a fun journey, so I don't feel like I wasted a weekend. Rather, I made the most of it.

    cel.png.932df6a068796c2120797b896cfae033.png Buying the Christmas tree was quite the journey too. :pinkiehat: I went to three places looking for a deal. Thankfully, I scored BIG on the third place I went to, otherwise I'd have to go back to one of the previous stores and make a purchase. With a 6 ft. tree purchased at super cheap, I had more than enough money to buy decorations, and I put it up on the same day too. Finish the day with some online Christmas gift shopping, and my Saturday was done. I could go into more detail about this journey, suffice it to say that networking and knowing people who have done the shopping ahead of time really does help out in the long run.

I saw... SUPERMAN: Man Of Tomorrow! icon?1379626399 Despite all the advertising that might lead you to believe otherwise, this movie is a mixed bag. They did do a lot of things rights, so they were mostly in the right direction, but they also could have done some things better. Some might argue introducing the Martian Manhunter and Superman at the same time is too much, but I can totally see them being a dynamic duo of their own. I like how visually clear they made it that Superman is solar powered and it heals his wounds too, but not instantaneously. I didn't like that there was a lot of death, yet only one character's death seem to weigh on Superman's heart. It just needed some tweaking to make it a better story element; we don't even know if the victims zapped of life force came back to life or not. Worst of all is we had a scene where Superman was in his fighting evil in his birthday suit (How is it he is finding out as an adult that his regular clothes aren't indestructible like he is?!). How you feel about that might depend on your mileage, but they missed a GOLDEN opportunity! They missed out on a chance to have Superman joke about his outfit, maybe say “I wore my underwear this time, as you can see.” Instead, Supes gave a speech to the world that was a bit too preachy, and he picked a bad time for it. Lots of nitpicks that basically kept this story from really reaching its potential. I'd say overall, it's average or just meh.

    cel.png.932df6a068796c2120797b896cfae033.png [ 2 / 2 ] I also saw... JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK: Apokolips War. :wau: Wow. What amazing irony. I expected the Superman 'solo' movie above to be the good one, and yet I ended up liking this more. Ironic because I wasn't fully invested in this animated movie verse, to be honest. Some titles were good, others fell a little flat. Still, this one went out with a bang, and with a callback to one of the best entries in the series. Is it dark? Very. Darkest one in the series. And because of that, I can't recommend it to everyone. Not unless you are okay with seeing major DC characters dying left and right, and unless you are willing to wait it out 'til the end to find out how they reverse this nightmare from ever happening. The entire story is practically a What-If story based on one of the worst case scenarios with these heroes, and yet along the way are moments that are very rewarding if you like these characters and the journey you went on with them. Next time, I'll be watching Tokusatsu movies. Yes, movies, plural. I'll probably make it another double feature.

    bmc.png.dead4df5641294b1d1c51b1da6cdaeeb.png Zenkaiger 37: Dai-Kon't Believe It! bitgear_32.png All I can say is, I hope this is the last filler episode before we start getting more plot. Everything remotely interesting was ultimately defeated before anything could happen, like making the evil minions stronger or almost summoning Kikai World. And this episode definitely did not get my hungry for radish, but those Japanese dishes at the end made me curious. Of course, even a next-episode preview can be misleading.

I am glad that Ikki/Revi's brother held him to higher standard, and a talk with his mom helped him grow up a little. This week's new form is based on Faiz, which also sort-of had a family theme in a small way. We got to see the super bike, and it's oddly meta to see the Fenix scientist has Kamen Rider toys. Sadly, the bike was mostly used for a big CGI mess of scene, but at least the CGI was used to display an action scene not easily replicated with practical effects, and it doesn't outlive its stay. But the best part of this episode is how the MOTW's host resolves her family issues. There is something so strongly human and moving about this plot. Every time Kamen Rider tried to attempt this with buddy monsters, this is what I wanted to see. Amazing how Revice actually got it right.

    I had been hearing some kind of techno remix song that samples one line over and over, "Call on me...". Somehow, I knew I had heard this song before! Proof of how old I am; when I can recognize the samples being used to make new songs. Turns out, this is a song that came out in the 80's, pretty close to my birth year too! So hear it is; tell me if this sounds familiar to you as well. This is the song "Valerie" by Steve Winwood.

    @Pastel Heart Trilby is all warm and cozy in his sleeping bag. He smiles and lays down, looking out of the netted tent window. He can see some of the moonlight and the starlight. As he looks on, Trilby looses his smile. Something heavy is on his mind. For a moment, he looses track of how long he's laying there. Seconds? Minutes? "... Pastel, are you still awake? Do you like traveling and camping with me?" Trilby looks over in her direction.

But the show hasn't even started yet. Opia, that's not..." Samurai pats Starlight's shoulder and shakes his head, pretty much telling her to let Opia go. "It's her business where she wants to go. We did our best to make her feel welcome. Now let's not be rude by failing to consider her feelings." Samurai says. Starlight seems unsure, but accepts it for now. "Fine. But if anything happens because she didn't have a friend when she needed one most, it'll be your responsibility. This is Friendshire, and I don't have authority here." "That's the spirit." Trilby says to Reality. "Help me out, and there may be a free hat in it for you." Trilby says before giving his undivided attention to concert about to happen. "Shall we get started then?" A voice suddenly speaks out. It's Mayor White! "Elusive won't be joining us; she has reporter duties first thing tomorrow. Straightaway is a very reclusive pony. The staff is busy taking down the tournament building, so I thought I'd join you all. Besides... No one has a concert in my city without my say. So... What's the hold up? Let the show commence!" Mayor White says with a jolly laugh. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What Opia finds in Mayor Black's bunker might not be what she expected. No one is there anymore except the secretary.

Samurai nods, happy to be acknowledged. "Good words to live by, Opia-chan. And I promise I will indeed check out your flowers. It might be a little hard to see them in the dark of night, but I wake up at the crack of dawn, so I'll be the first to see them before the majority of the town. Nature is a very important thing. It is a vital part of my purification rituals, and my magic is nature-based as well." Samurai says. "I see. Not really a pro, huh? Well, that's not a bad thing, really." Trilby replies to Reality. "Honestly, it's up to you. My shop has been rather... basic in terms of décor. I have the best hats and clothing wares, but I could really use something extra, something to give my shop a nice visual pop. A better shop logo, cool paintings, a unique interior paint job, anything to give my shop a little pizzazz. But I don't want to do anything outside of your comfort level." Trilby tells him. They arrive at the stage, and it's interesting to say the least. "Hello, Nitro. Rumbler. Golden. Keymaster. I am Samurai Equine." Samurai introduces himself. Hopeful his slight accent is not enough to ruin his introduction. "So we're about to see a show? But is it a racing show or a music show?" Starlight asks, cocking an eyebrow as she looks at the set up. They said something about being street racers, and yet there is musical instruments on the stage. Either way, Starlight seems interested in what they're going to do.

    @Pastel Heart Trilby just smiles when he sees the squirrel, turns off the magic, and escorts Pastel back to the campfire. "See? I told you that offering a sacrifice would pay off. Besides, we took the guy's home, the least we could do is let him have a smore." Trilby says, nodding happily. "I wonder how many other woodland creatures we'll befriend while we're out here..." Trilby says curiously. Time passes. The two of them eat their fill, making sure not to eat TOO many. Wouldn't wanna get sick, right? After the smores are devoured and the campfire extinguished, they enter the luxury tent together and get ready for bed. Trilby has his own sleeping bag, and since he bought some more supplies just for Pastel, she has a sleeping bag too! Trilby changes into his pajama jacket and his nightcap, hopping into his sleeping back and snuggling up to his pillow. "We sure did have a great first day, didn't we?"

    @Pastel Heart Trilby is about to happily return to the campfire when they both hear a sound. When Pastel takes cover, Trilby bravely stands to protect her. "Stay calm, Pastel. I've got this..." Trilby takes off his hat and activates his magic. His horn basically becomes flashlight, and he uses it to see if he can spot whatever creature is sneaking up on their campsite. "I really hope it's that friendly tiger from earlier..."

    @Pastel Heart Trilby is about to bow at the clapping, but a comment makes him stand in confusion. "...Happy ending? OH! You wanted a SCARY ghost story!" Trilby says, realizing the truth. Noticing Pastel wants a turn, he sits down and lets her tell a story this time. However, as the story twists and reaches his climax, Trilby cannot help but tilt his head. "Woah... Calling occupants of interplanetary craft..." He mumbles to himself. But then he notices the story is over. He sits up and claps. "Well that was amazing. Scary, unpredictable, and a little confusing, but it was still amazing." Trilby says. He gets up and goes over to the marshmallows and such, and proceeds to make a smore. "Tradition dictates that when you tell stories about ghosts and the undead, you must also leave a sacrifice so they don't come to consume you instead~" Trilby makes a smore, finds a spot far from the campfire, and leaves it on the ground. He says a little prayer before returning to the safety of the campfire.

At most, Samurai only hesitates for half of a second before he just accepts her without asking any questions; which would be a rude thing to do in his culture anyways. "I heard the part about you going along with us, and that's all I needed for right now." Starlight says as she takes Opia by the hoof and guides her. Samurai nods. "I can't claim to know what has endeared you to Mayor Black, but as a samurai myself, I know a thing or two about loyalty. It is the defining nature of my title. In my language, the title 'samurai' means 'to serve', often with great loyalty. I have superiors that I must report to regularly. My first superior is Shogun Equine, the battle general that trained me and taught me all I know. Above him, there is the regional lord of Japone, but she likes to call herself the empress. And above her, there is the one I am the absolute most loyal to, Princess Celestia. She is princess of the rising sun, ruler of all Equestria; and to me, the greatest princess of all. Her orders supersede anyone elses. However, Celestia has made it clear that she acknowledges Princess Luna, Cadance, and Twilight equally. In essence, I am to obey their royal commands as if Celestia were making those commands herself. A tough matter since I revere Princess Celestia just a bit more, but if that is what she wishes, then so shall it be." Samurai says as he follows Opia and Starlight. "Well that was a bit of a mouthful." Starlight, Samurai, and Trilby follow their friends to wherever Thundy is leading. Trilby walks beside Reality, but also is tempted to reach out and pet the Vulpix. He tried to pet Bingo earlier, but Bingo didn't seem invested. "I'm not sure how long I can stick around. I've got a hat and clothing shop to tend to, but this seems important, so I'll stick around for as long as I can. By the way Reality, I saw you drawing earlier. How long have you been an artist? I've been wanting to hire an artist for a while now, actually." Trilby says.

    @Pastel Heart Trilby smirks. He leaps up and walks around to the other end of the fire, standing upright. "There once was a pony feeling sad and lonely, but he couldn't understand why! There were plenty of ponies about. So he tried to talk to them, but no response. They all ignored him, one by one. It wasn't until he reached out to one of them that he realized the truth... He was a ghost this entire time!! Oooh~! He couldn't touch anything; his hoof would go right through it. He couldn't take to anypony, because they can't see ghosts~! Now it finally made sense why he feels so alone. Oh no~!! ...So he decided to find some other ghosts and make friends with them instead. And they all stayed together eternally ever after; the end!" Trilby claps, proud of himself. "Pretty good ghost story, am I right?"

    Well, it's December, and I am ready! I have my old Oshogatsu/Christmas name & avatar up. I've been working for DAYS on the new banner for my profile, and I decided to throw a new signature together at the last moment as well. Hope it doesn't look too busy. I am quite proud of my work. :oneheckofahat:Oh, and let's not forget, the holiday emotes! I can finally start using them again. I hope everyone is ready for the holidays this month. I've been avoiding it, but now I can finally start listening to and enjoying Christmas carols. I wonder if there is any new Christmas movies available for streaming...

    Speaking of, I decided that I am going to be watching a double feature! I'll be seeing both "Justice League Dark: Apokolips War" and "Superman: Man of Tomorrow". :raritycutehat: I have no doubt at least one of them will be good. I was planning on seeing Marvel's "Eternals", but that's not available for streaming just yet. Give it time~

    Last of all, I do feel bad for some of my friends. Since I don't know what they want, I won't give away any names, but they are probably reading this and they know who they are. Some have possibly been exposed to COVID, and others are going through their own hard times right now. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of them. To everyone else, stay safe, all right?

    @Pastel Heart Trilby giggles a little to himself, happy that Pastel enjoyed the smore he gave her. It's just a simple treat, and yet it's just who he is. He makes things for the sake of making others happy. He puts a marshmallow on his own metal stick and starts to roast it. Noticing Pastel successfully made a smore, he pretends to bow and applauds. "All hail Pastel, master of Smore-making! I am not worthy~ I am not worthy~ I am not--" Sloorp. Plop. Trilby turns his head and sees his marshmallow has melted and fallen on the ground. "OH NO! I turned away too long~! Well, that's how the marshmallow melts..." Trilby puts his hoof over his heart and hums the funeral march. "...Oh well, more where that came from!" Trilby shrugs and tries again. This time, he makes a perfect smore for himself, and he eats it. "Mmm~! ...We should tell ghost stories."

    @Pastel Heart A weird way to travel, but Trilby wasn't going to stop her from holding onto his leg, if that's what she wanted to do. He just hopes it's not too bumpy with him walking around. Honestly, Pastel's excitement is making Trilby excited too! He makes different piles for gram crackers and chocolate bars, leaving the marshmallows in a big open bag. Then, he puts a marshmallow on a metal rod. "The trick is, you want to rotate casually over the fire. Not too fast, not too slow, and gradually count to four." He shows her how it's done. "One~ Two~ Three~ Four~?" He checks the marshmallow. "A little more. One~ Two~ Three~ Four~!" He checks it again. "Perfect. You want it to be roasted to a golden brown on the outside." Trilby mushes it between some gram crackers and chocolate. "That's all there is to it. Some ponies try to roast their marshmallow black, but they usually just fall off the stick when that happens." Now that he has demonstrated how it's done, he lets Pastel have the first smore. He also puts another marshmallow on the stick and gives it to her, that way he can get his own stick and start making his own smores. "...Oh, and try not eat them too fast. You'll burn your tongue." Trilby warns.

    In Episode 4, Applebuck Season, Rainbow Dash senses the impending danger and shouts "STAMPEDE!" from the sky. As ponies flee for their lives, we can see Lily, Daisy, and Rose among the fleeing citizens, clearly saying "This is awful! The horror, the horror!" as they pass.     Hey there, my crowd. How goes it? :mlp_smile:

    Just a standard Monday for me. Nothing major going on.

    Been trying to decide what movie I want to see next. Tops on my list are "Justice League Dark: Apokolips War", "Superman: Man of Tomorrow", and "Shang Chi". Part of me want to save Shang Chi and make it a double feature with "Snake Eyes"; make it a martial arts theme night, a little bit of good with a little bit of bad. However, if anyone wants to vote or weigh in on this, let me know.

    @Pastel Heart Trilby smiles. He kneels down and hugs Pastel, snuggling her. "No, thank you for joining me, Pastel Love." Trilby says. After he changes back into his regular clothes and collects his supplies, he gives Pastel a chance to change before they leave together. Magically, he collects the wood from earlier, and they teleport back to the camp sight. It takes a few moments to set up the logs correctly and some places to sit, but by the time Trilby's got a campfire going, it's dark out. Trilby looks at Pastel, knowing she must be excited for this next part. "All right my newest and closest friend... This is moment you've been waiting for... It's SMORES time!!" Trilby whips out the smores kits.
