Did you know a term for Brits started by the states during the American Revolution was Limey? Because the Brits were among the first to discover the cure to scurvy, so when their ships would be sunk in the war, limes would float to the surface.

Or at least, that's what high school history taught me, once upon a time.

Sounds right-at least the scurvy part does. I think it was really just a practical solution for them at the time-limes were easier to get hold of than oranges.

Makes sense to me.
