  1. Been a while since I've done any digital art. Twilight has never felt anger quite like this. This isn’t frustration, like when Pinkie’s Pinkie sense proved to be immune to understanding. This isn’t an OCD related breakdown. No, this is the pure, unrestrained rage of an Alicorn goddess. It took Spike, what else would she feel? She’s been like his big sister since he’s been born. No pony could handle the amount of rage seeping out of her very being. Looks like whatever creature decided to kidnap Spike will have to help her with that.
  2. I wouldn't post it online if I didn't want people to download it, so gopher it.
  3. G'day MLP forums. Did this in school today. "Thanks fer helpin' me finnish off this keg RD." "No problem AJ, next time you need me to get funk as druck with ya just let me know." -Edit- So, I decided I can't just leave this one alone. So I added more of a background. I might do a bit more to this tomorrow so I'll post another update if I do.
  4. I would agree with you in that the story would make a good fanfiction, however I doubt I'm the one to write it. I can write little bits like the stories that go with my art but I'm not very good at writing a whole story beginning, middle to end. My writing is meant to put an idea in your mind, one that you can fantasize about. If someone wants to take that fantasy and make it a full story of woe, then go for it.
  5. Drew this at school today. For whatever reason, today seemed like the day to explore the possibility of Twilight's new status and ability to use dark (or Alicorn) magic as a means to send her down a dark path. Face it, you'd be terrified if Twilight was looking at you like this. Life tests first and gives lessons after. You will retake the test as many times as you need until you learn the lesson. There is one lesson that Celestia has had to relearn far too many times. That lesson is that power can corrupt the heart of anypony. It is a lesson that Celestia’s ancient heart cannot bare to have to learn again. No, the loss of her dear Twilight has left a shard of ice in her heart that no pony can ever hope to thaw. She spends every single day of this war hoping that somewhere in her enemy’s mind, lies the pony she once mentored. She spends every day fearing that her hope is misguided. -Edit- I decided to touch up the drawing some more. Then I scanned and colored it. I might do this more often seeing as my traditional sketching looks very different from my digital sketching.
  6. This was my last page in my sketch book. It deserved a drawing with lots of love and care, and that's exactly what it got.
  7. No particular story with this one. I just knew I had to draw this once I saw Twilight now has her own Sonic -- Sparkle--Boom... or something. Makes for some good friendly bonding. There's no doubt in my mind that Rainbow Dash would want to try this. Edit - Wooo! Just saw this made it into today's drawfriend on EQD. It's number 4.
  8. I did it on and off during school. I started it yesterday and finished it off this morning in first period. So it probably took about an hour and a half to two hours of work.
  9. Oh Applejack, yer' so cute! I need to draw you more. I often avoid drawing her just because her stetson always manages to throw me off and give me trouble. I'm not sure what it is about that hat that screws with the perspective. Oh well, practice, practice, practice.
  10. You did this with a mouse! That's crazy! As I nit pick at this, realize I'm very impressed by what you've managed to do with just a mouse. Her ears are a bit too big and the hood makes it more immediately noticeable. Her front legs seem like they should be a bit closer together. The hoodie itself looks good but the texture on it seems very flat. Other than that, it looks good. Practice, practice, practice my friend.
  11. Ah the struggle for satisfaction with your art, I know it well. As you grow into a style, you will become more satisfied with your art. You've got yourself a very nice OC there, I love her hat. You're shading is very, very well done. Especially with the fuzzy bit on her cape. The bottom of the pumpkin looks like it could be a bit darker though. You're color is very nice and appealing. Her hind legs seem a bit thick, although that could very well just be me since I prefer to draw really skinny legs. I'm curious as to what that bird on the back of her neck is though... Is it meant to be a tattoo? Either way, the whole thing looks great.
  12. For the longest time, my OC's name has been Sylenth Stroke. I've come to find that the name is really just confusing in that most people don't know what Sylenth is. (It's a synthesizer in FL Studio) So I've decided to start calling him by who he's always been, Manjaro.
  13. Your line art is pretty good, but your lighting effects could use some work. Sweet shine's hair looks good as it goes with the grain in her hair, while Eldur's doesn't. Also, The bottom of Sweet Shine's right hind leg looks like it should fill in with her body. Other than that, it's pretty good.
  14. Since school has started back up for me it's been harder for me to make time for my tablet. I hope to change that soon. Fluttershy has dedicated her life to helping any creature that comes her way, and those creatures have dedicated their lives to her.
  15. These are good for little sketches. I like your style. Your proportions could use some work but that'll come with practice. I have to say I like the first one the most, I like the simple cell shading and the hard corners.
  16. G'day everyone. Been a while hasn't it. I've been busy with school so I haven't been drawing much on my tablet. I'll probably make a thread with all of my recent sketches, but that's for another day. What is your Dreamscape? Where do you go during Luna’s night? I like to think Twilight visits other worlds, untouched by pony hooves. Filled with new possibilities and impossibilities. I like to think she doesn’t dream that she has wings. Equestria see’s her as Princess Twilight Sparkle while she still see’s herself as little ol’ Twiley. A unicorn with a knack for magic and a love for reading. Not some royal figure like Celestia, Luna, or Cadence.
  17. I think if a fandom gets out of hand, it can become a religion. That's kind of what Scientology is. I think if we as a species fall into the same pitfalls as our ancestors and take these stories way too seriously, then yes, I think a fandom can become like a religion, but it would take a few generations to reach that point. (Scientology took less time because the book was written with the intent of creating a religion.) An example might be: My generation of Whovians telling our kids about the Doctor and how he is such an extraordinary man and how awesome of a show it was. Then my kids tell their kids about the Doctor, then they tell their kids, and so on. Eventually, Doctor Who has been off the air for decades and is told only by word of mouth. Somewhere along the line, someone forgets to mention that this was all just a TV show. Next thing we know, people think the Doctor is a real person, and people end up praying to him. Like in the season 3 ending with the Master. Religion seem to occur when stories are told over time and key information is lost. It's like a worldwide game of telephone. God is a name we Humans give to entities we perceive as all powerful. One could see the Doctor as God, or maybe even Discord. It's all about perception.
  18. For a while I was Atheist, then I changed to Agnostic. I came to the personal conclusion that Atheism is almost as close-minded as religion in that it is still deciding that you have an answer to the question. I know there is so much more out there to be discovered and that there always will be. There are a couple theories out there that pique my interest, like the theory that an entity we may perceive as god like could be a 13 dimensional symphony of vibrations (If you agree with string theory.) Another is that once you get to the 10th spacial dimension, there is no more space, it is just pure data, all data. (Source) I think as quantum mechanics expands as a field, we'll learn more about consciousness and/or the human spirit. Ultimately we as a species know next to nothing, the moments when I become aware of just how little we know are the moments I feel the most lucid.
  19. Your technical skill looks good. However I would say your style could use some refinement (I feel bad for saying that.) As it stands, your ponies look more like giraffes, I used to do the same thing. If you want to keep their necks long, I would recommend possibly making their hooves a bit wider at the end. However that's just my two cents.
  20. I like this. It's a good concept. I will say it seems a bit cluttered with the lightning. Maybe try fading it out around the pony as well as toning down the lens flare on her, because right now it distracts from her rather than emphasizes her voice.
  21. These are great! Your tree looks fantastic and all the characters are adorable! If I'm to nitpick, I'd say your line work is just a bit off here and there. Other than that though, this is impressive. Great job!
  22. Nice job, good looking OC too. A couple of things to nitpick would be the outline of his hair by his ear seems like it should start lower and the outline for his back legs seems like it should be a color closer to the rest of his body's outline. These things are really nitpicky just because your vector is at that quality where I really have to look to find anything amiss.
  23. Like everyone above me said, the legs could use some work, however for a first time you're doing pretty good. Her tail and main look good. Also her wings could use some more definition. Other than that, all I can say is keep practicing. You're not off to a bad start.
  24. Sometimes, Luna enjoys a good flight across Equestria just to take the time to appreciate her night sky. If there's one thing she's learned during her 1,000 years on the moon, it's that it doesn't really matter if any pony else enjoys her work. She does, and ultimately that's all that matters. If and when others admire her sky, well-- that's just icing on the cake. This was inspired by the long awaited, Children of the Night video. It was definitely worth the wait. Some technical stuff: This was done completely in Easy Paint Tool: SAI. Elapse time was about 7 hours, give or take.
  25. The wings just marked the beginning. I wasn't a princess yet. The wings were the point of no return. I wasn't a normal pony either. I still had much to learn. I learned all that was required and then some. Towards the end of my lessons Luna and Celestia gave me a warning. That soon I would go through my true initiation. Not only into princess-hood, but god-hood. I had no idea what to expect. It came without warning. There was no earthly ceremony, no tradition, no audience. It was one single moment. A threshold if you will. Like peering through an open seem connection two worlds. It was a moment that I will never forget. I saw -- everything. I saw the creatures that dominated our world before us, and the creatures that may follow us. I saw where we've been, where we may go, and where we must never go. I saw everything from beginning to end all in one instant. It was absolutely overwhelming. Tense... It seems irrelevant in hind sight... At least I know I am still me. Only I could see what I just saw and comment on the grammatical implications. -- "The separation between past, present, and future is just and illusion; however persistent." - Albert Einstein
