  1. I have a room that has just myself right now! So I'm looking for up to three more folks. I'm available on Twitter @Jouva_MLP as well as on discord at jouva#5891 and also here if you have neither. I will be there Wednesday (late) night to Monday morning, so you probably won't need to worry about me not being there on a day you'll be attending!
  2. So somebody says they're going to be bringing TrotMania to the convention. I'm going to ask them a bit more, but if they can provide this to the game room, great! But there's one thing missing: Pads! If you're not familiar with TrotMania, it's a MLP-themed song pack for StepMania. If you're not familiar with StepMania, it's a simulator for Dance Dance Revolution. If you're not familiar with Dance Dance Revolution, it's that game where you step on arrows in the arcade. If you're not familiar with arcades, arrows or stepping... ummm... then we've got to talk... Anyway, I'd LOVE to see it there and step on some pony music-driven arrows. But we'd need 2 pads (2 players, or for the daring like myself, double play). Preferably NOT those $5 pads that are about 1/4 inch thick, but in a pinch those will work I guess. We'd also need a monitor. And approval from the game room staff. Any takers?

    gaming Rhythm Games!

I played that a bit and enjoyed it. I never owned it cause I recall only temporarily owning a DS. I think. I was not big on dedicated portable gaming systems. But Elite Beat Agents was fun. If you own an iPad you might want to give jukebeat a try. Similar (fixed point targets that you wait on) but different (multi-touch, so you can be hitting multiple targets, though it's not tap/hold or sliding) If you go to any big brony conventions (BronyCon, GalaCon) there's a good chance they will have something like StepMania there with pony songs by having the Trotmania pack installed

    gaming Rhythm Games!

So I've been playing Dance Dance Revolution for about 10+ years now and played some other rhythm games too during that time. But I don't seem to find much discussion about those games! Obviously Rock Band and Guitar Hero are/were hits in the US, but I'm wondering what sort of rhythm games other ponies here have played. I tend to play DDR or StepMania, as well as Pop'n Music and beatmania IIDX. I'll also play a little bit of Keyboardmania, GuitarFreaks/drummania or ParaParaParadise on occasion if I can and I've been getting into jukebeat and reflec beat lately as well. I do want to get a copy of Rock Band and a keyboard so I can get better at that though I know the DLC store has been closed recently. So what about all of you?
  5. Steam profile: http://steamcommunity.com/id/jouvamoufette though I've not played much lately except some Tabletop Simulator. I've been too busy with life lately. But I'll try and hop on more!
  6. I'm not sure if it will happen in season 5 or 6, but based on some things I'm reading in the Journal of The Two Sisters, I would not be surprised if we see Starswirl the Bearded soon. Also, I'm doubting we'll see CMC get their cutie marks. Perhaps ever. Why? They are in the show to appeal to younger children who are trying to understand life and finding your path and all of the troubles you'll have growing up and teach them that it's part of life and we all go through it. Not saying you have to be young to like them. Just that older teens aren't exactly representative of the life of a 10-12 year old now, are they? So they need younger kids trying to find their spot in life to speak out to other kids trying to find their spot in life. But once they found their spot in life, they won't have as much purpose like this I'm not sure if it will happen in season 5 or 6, but based on some things I'm reading in the Journal of The Two Sisters, I would not be surprised if we see Starswirl the Bearded soon. 7. According to the article, they're going to retain control between 9AM and 3PM which includes the current air time for MLP. For this season? Maybe advertising will be different, but it will be on "Discovery Family". AFTER this season who knows. It's a change in business partnership, and that's not always a permanent thing. After all if it was, his change wouldn't happen in the first place. Will they stay or go? Will it affect MLP? Let's hope for the best. Honestly when you think about it, this change somewhat makes sense. How much programming does Hasbro have beyond their cartoons and movies related to things like Transformers? If it was 50/50, that would mean essentially 12 hours for Hasbro and 12 hours for Discovery. Besides a marathon, how much programming does Habsro have to fill up 12 hours?
  8. I guess you can say that for G4 this is true, but just in another universe. But as far as "MLP:FiM" is concerned, they're non-existent since EG is supposed to be separate in terms of it being not canon towards MLP;FiM
  9. I don't usually do these but I'd like to share my thoughts on the time period since I don't hear too much about that... then again I don't go looking for these kinds of posts either so I don't know what has been said. Anyway a lot of this revolves around the canon existence of one character: Tirek. Tirek existed in the original G1 MLP series back in the 80s. During this time, humans DID exist and interact with the ponies. Based on their interaction, any "magical land" they lived in appeared to be somehow connected to an English speaking country on Earth that was coinciding with the 1980s since the fashion style seemed to match as did the architecture. Well, that or they live in a universe or planet that happens to speak English and is also stuck in the 80s. Anyway, perhaps assume that this was a 1980s earth as we knew it. Tirek was captured and put in a jail of sorts. Fast-forward to G4. We can perhaps assume that THAT Tirek is the same as THIS Tirek since the stories behind the two are essentially the same. That or the whole universe/planet thing like I mentioned above. Quite a few times we have heard "1000 years ago" from times when Luna and Celestia were in power. We don't know how long they were in power, but it was quite some time, longer one can assume. So my thoughts on this are that either: 1) The ponies live on Earth in some magical land but have never seen humans because they have long been since gone and we are watching something from the future. 2) Their "year" is significantly different than ours and perhaps they are in this other universe or planet that just happened to have English speaking human like creatures that looked like people from the 80s. Thoughts?
  10. Just for you since you like explodey things it seems:
  11. Vinyl's a great character, especially considering she's had, what less than 1 minute of air time combined and has said NOTHING? The design they came up for her seemed like they made a very conscious effort for what she should look like and just seeing her seems to tell at least 1/2 of her life story alone. A sort of ravergirl-esque feel, flashy and out going. It's a very brilliant, vibrant and eye catching design, especially for a character they probably figured would be used just once or very rarely. On a side note, notice how she's almost always attracted to the element of laughter? Who brought her out at the end of A Canterlot Wedding? Pinkie. Who was she watching during Magical Mystery Cure? Fluttershy, who had Pinkie's cutie mark. Who was she scratching for in Testing Testing 1, 2, 3? Pinkie Pie. She loves fun. Lots of it.

    Hello

It always blows my mind when I see somebody with several OCs when I can hardly come up with ONE for myself! Do you use them for art or RP or story writing?
  13. Jouva

    Hi...

Pppft don't say nobody cares. There's always somebody out there who will care about you. Always.
  14. Yeah I always seemed to have a knack for lots of writing. Yet I'm not a writer. I just don't have good descriptions or character ideas or story ideas or the like I guess. Sadly no. West OF Philadelpha, yes! But no, not born in raised in West Philadelphia. Though the playground WAS where I spent most of my days.
