Yes, there certainly is way more to it than that... I've been in a Christian scenario for pretty much most of my life, and considering with each passing "sermon" and every time I was told just a few of different scriptures throughout the book that were weaved together into one individual context, while seeing that most of the time that which I read into and wished to discuss with the "preachers" was pretty much ignored... After a while of reading into what the Bible says...

"God's love" entails... I can't help but feel that whatever created that religion is nothing but a deceitful group of mankind-hating entities that seem to get a kick out of playing the "Don't question, just shut up and believe what you're told" card a lot...
