  1. Pity you are no longer active

  2. Not to mention that the whole fetishization of the past is kind of bizarre. The difficulties of figuring out what the founding "spirit" of the country was aside, why should we defer to this as some kind of ineffable guide? Surely the people important to the founding and development of this nation could have been wrong about things, including what exactly is entailed in the establishment clause.

  4. Fair enough. I concede that such places are on the left of the mainstream American political spectrum, I just deny that said spectrum is very broad since most positions on it share the premise of liberal capitalism. I think we'd also both agree that the NYC DoE goes on the "just dumb" list for this, even if it is (thankfully) just for standardized tests and not for classroom use. EDIT: This isn't directly related to the DoE issue, but I liked your point about (natural) science worship. Incidentally, I essentially agree with that analysis of the atheism of the "new atheists," despite being an atheist myself. From the thread on your religion essay:
  5. That being said, this is pretty silly on the part of the NYC DoE.
  6. I use gmail for most things. However, I also have an @furnation.com because I'm one of the admins for said site, and I use that for site purposes.
  7. It's all about the rice krispies.
  8. In addition to the excellent Pony Sounds app, there's also a general reference sort of app called My Little Pony Pro. Honestly I haven't found much use for it, but it does have a lot of links and information for an iPhone app.
  9. Neither of my parents seem to really care. I think my dad "gets" it more than my mom though - she just kind of rolls her eyes.
  10. I've never actually bought pony stuff in a store, like a Target or Toys 'R Us, but I don't see myself caring too much, considering some of the other things I've bought in stores. Everything I have I either got online or at BronyCon.
  11. I'm currently reading Dance of the Dialectic by Bertell Ollman and Materialism and Epirico-Criticism by V.I. Lenin. Love the former, haven't gotten far enough in the latter to really say. ...I don't read a lot of fiction.
  12. Twilight. Not only can I relate to her, but I find a lot her moments to be among the funniest, perhaps because I like "awkward" humor where one is made aware of the absurdity of some situation.
  13. Hello denizens of MLP Forums, it's good to be here! I've been looking for a good pony forum for a while now, and after browsing around here for a while think I've found the place. Here's hoping for some good times and discussions, and feel free to ask me any questions. Thanks in advance for the welcomes! Obligatory sharing of favorite pony: Twilight
