I'd watch it to hear Kazumi Evans sing. But since I've already seen that part there's not much point anymore. I'm lost for words at what this series has turned into.

  2. Almost every shower I've taken this year has ended up being cold whether or not it started that way. The only exceptions are when Im sick or showering just before bed.

But when I crank the cold to max and I feel the icy water sting as my skin turns red and tight it gives me a boost like almost nothing else. It's an exhilarating experience that makes you feel alive. It's not comfortable, but it's worth it. Mind over matter.

I would love that too. I actually have an idea in mind that I'm probably turning into a fanfic.

It's getting a little weird wirh you saying everything I'm about to but great minds think alike. I think I'd be interested in what you're cooking. I've heard through the grapevine that another special is on the way for Equestria Girls later this year which may or may not have some callbacks. But that's all I'll say on that subject here.

With Breakdown it looks like a major was nor seeing more pony. Everybody always wants more pony. While including Equestria in Equestria Girls may seem self-evident it does kind of miss the point. I suspect some may go into watching the series simply for the similarities and less so for the distinction of EqG. What I mean is that if you're just looking for ponies then FiM is the primary spot for that.

Loving the characters is great but they're in seperate worlds for a reason because otherwise the series would have no purpose. I'm not saying I want less magic but I wouldn't mind seeing more humanistic elements explored in greater detail and maturity.

  4. I drive an off-black Cadillac,  great for a midnight drive. Nothing like stepping on the gas pedal, leaning back and taking my time. Occasionally I'll pull the roof back, let the sky in. I always keep it shined and waxed whenever I'm cruising through the city.

  5. There's a reason why Trixie is such a fan favorite. A combination of her great design, incorrigible attitude and terrific voice acring by Kathleen Barr, the G&PT never disappoints.

  6. What we see in this short is a beautiful representation of the classical dramatic divide between Pinkamena's comedy and Tank's resultant tragic feelings. The struggle of feeling like you've just barely missed an opportunity for happiness whilst seeing others bask in its glow is a very dark but also realistic concept. Fortunately, with friends as perpetually effervescent as Pinkie, you're never far from a sharing a fun time.

I mus lt also note the subtlety of Gummy's performance here in his supporting role and the chemistry between the two professional reptilian thespians. Well done sirs.

  7. Not since 'Look Before You Sleep' have I gotten to see such a fun and heartwarming moment with Rarity and Applejack. As always, the dynamic of their characters together offered generous reserves of hilarity and honestly touching symbolism of friendship.

  8. A phenomenal premiere for this new season. It was daring, visionary and beautifully executed.

I felt it really captured the depth of Spike the Dog that we rarely get to see. The comedy was perfectly timed down to the millisecond and was so relevant to modern trends without feeling dated. Bravo.

All of which are addressed by the show. I'm almost certain that the show will answer these questions in these last couple of episodes.

I feel the exact opposite given how infrequently the show makes any serious reference to the Mane 6's occupations lately. They now have full occupations, teach part-time, serve as guardians of Equestria on a regular basis and will also run the nation's government with all the accompanying duties that entails. Good luck with that.

  10. That would seem to be a foregone conclusion at this point. The question is not if but when.

What shape the film will take and it's relation to the franchise remains to be seen. But at this point I think it's almost inevitable the direction will be towards the next generation of My Little Pony.

(It wasn't the main subject but I'd also enjoy one last full length Equestria Girls movie as well.)

But, I am refusing to see this movie because I am deliberately dropping out of the MLP fandom by the end of this year.

Season 9 hasn't been that bad, has it?

There is some background in Patton Oswalt’s life that makes this all the more poignant.

Oswalts discussions on grief have been plentiful over the last few years. They helped me in unmeasurable ways.

The more I thought about this the more I recognized how much I can empathize with this point and in my own way with his experience you detailed. Like I said I don't really know the man very well but if his return encapsulates the kind of matter you've described I will be very interested.

It didn’t offend at all. It does give me a reason to go into what I enjoy from the show. I rarely go into technical elements when it comes to this show since it isn’t why I watch it. I actually watch it for the cute and the smarmy, so I framed it that way. On other internet haunts where I discuss lit and film I tend to apply a different filter related to application of the inciting incident, the subtle nature a film’s theme and transitions, etc. I watch most non-genre films with a different eye than I watch pony.

I think that there is this strange element to the internet where people sharing their feelings on anticipation of some property tends to be shared conversationally, while some readers consume the  content and process it through their own filter. I don’t want to break down my anticipation or enjoyment into an algorithm. That said, knowing the respondent quandary we face, I try to choose my words carefully by implying when something entices me due to a personal connection rather than the functional elements of the story, acting, writing, and directing.

The reason for saying, “I enjoyed that episode quite a lot” is ultimately different than, “I feel that episode was quite good.”

Fair enough and well said. I believe it's important to be able to appreciate the varying aspects and layers of this show as well as other forms of media content on multiple levels. In what ever form or fashion that takes place is up to the individual of course. I may be using a different filter or the same ones but to differing degrees. I like the cute-smarm as well.

With such a strong connection that the people on these forums have with this show and the time they've invested into it(seriously, when do you sleep? lol), your position is not surprising and pretty understandable.

But the conflicts of experience I see in conversation are what makes things interesting(provided it doesn't get too out of hand).

”I’m really looking forward to something”, is remarkably vague but I tend to use it to discuss ephemeral reasons over the technique and elements of style. Otherwise I would say, “I’m expecting a solid performance and story.”

Fortunately for this fandom those expectations are rarely ever missed.

I also want to say that sometimes the people behind a thing fascinates me. Knowing a little about their life experience can help crack open a door into small nuances that color their skill and performance. It’s not often that someone is so open about their emotional process and journey in real time. When it happens it can be enlightening.

If I knew more about Patton Oswalt and were a fan then naturally my interest would be higher regarding the background of the episode. I don't have anything against him but I'm just less compelled about the relevancy of that information I guess. But I can relate to the feeling of having a celebrity you appreciate appear on the show as I(and I think almost everyone else) was amazed at seeing Weird Al Yankovic as Cheese Sandwich.

I have no idea if the episode is going to be good or not. I suspect it will be a cute little SoL romp for me rather than a comedic phenomenon.

For what it's worth I hope it is. I'm not predicting it will be completely awful and even if I did think that I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

That being said, if given the choice between this and meeting Scootaloo's family I'd take the latter in a heartbeat.

That's kind of why I firmly think EqG should just become a 22 minute series already, specifically so we could get both magical antics and more mundane conflicts. Those 2017 specials proved it could work, and I think this special and Rollercoaster would've been better at 22 minutes each anyway. They could've freed up the resources to make two additional 22-minute stories, but nope.

It always upsets me to know how fantastic EqG could be but it just isn't allowed to be.

I'd be willing to settle for a final feature length film to cap it off. Maybe bring back some old familiar faces?

But a full series would be fantastic. If it kept going after G5 started it would be like a continuation of G4(assuming they didn't totally reboot everything).
