  1. If you are getting into game design then you should learn both JavaScript as well as C#. The first programming language that 'clicked' for me was C++ and that is probably one of the better languages to start out with. It is very similar to both C# and JavaScript, the main deference is that JavaScript uses different keywords. You need to know how to program for scripting and such, because a lot of the time you won't find exactly what you need online and you will have to make/code it yourself. For example I made a game in Unity for a class project that incorporated both 1st and 3rd person, but I didn't want walls and such interfering with 3rd person so I wrote a script that automatically switched to 1st person when the 3rd person camera 'Collided' with an object. This is a rather simple example but it can be as complex as you like
  2. I decided to do FiMFic readings and this is my first one I finished, just figured I should share. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ8UM29zug4
  3. I wouldn't mind helping out as a VA. Links to some voice samples are in my signature. If you would like me to be a part of your team, just shoot me a PM
  4. I was fairly big into airsoft and still have all my original gear. I bought all of my guns used for cheap and then modified them heavily (complete re-wiring, gear angle correction, home-soldered mosfets to support 11.1v lipo batteries, r-hop mod; also did simple things like swapping out stock motors for high torque ones, higher powered springs, and installing tight bore barrels). I haven't played in an actual game for over a year, but if something ends up breaking down next time I do play, I have enough parts to repair it at least 4 times over. I only have 4 guns (compared to some 20+ I have seen other people have), but I have dumped a lot of time into fine tuning them. My first "decent" gun that I created is an m16 platform (but has a 14" rail system) with a long 21" (?) tightbore barrel masked by a suppressor (as wells as every mod mentioned above). Last time I fine tuned the r-hop and used it with a 11.1v lipo, it got 8" groupings at 375ft (might have been more) at 18rps and at 400fps with .25g bb (but I use .28 on the field) My go-to secondary is a high-capa 1911 that I have 5 25rd magazines and 2 50rd magazines to go with it (used propane as propellant, green gas lowers fps by about 15% and also lubes the barrel, which you do not want: especially for a tightbore). I lubed and cleaned it frequently when I played. I did a few spring mods, installed an extended tight bore barrel that stuck out 6" and masked it with a suppressor. Did some other hop up mods on it as well. I don't remember exactly what fps it shot or what the range was like, but it was good enough for me to make it a primary (pistol only) every few games or so (played outdoors only). I have only every played outdoor games in large wooded areas, just because I find it easier to sit still and listen/look at my surroundings. I used to used a woodland based uniform setup, but have moved to flecktarn in recent years.
  5. If you need any male voices, you can check out my work in my signature. However, I will be gone from June 6th to the 20th for Annual Training for the PA Army National Guard, so if you need anything done recording wise, let me know soon so I can get it done ASAP. PM for my email, I will still be able to respond to emails while away.
  6. Colors look like they go together, and the character name flows nicely. Even without any backstory he sounds/looks like a pretty cool OC; despite whether or not computer systems have been established and put to use in Equestria
  7. AppleCore

    gaming Black ops 3?

I jumped off the CoD train and onto the Battlefield train at the fluke knows as the first Black Ops.
  8. If somebody doesn't want to spend money to get their OC drawn, that is their choice and there is nothing wrong with using the pony creator. However there is the saying "you get what you pay for". Pony creator being free, you will get a pretty generic look without much complexity; but spend a few bucks on a commissioned piece and thats money well spent in terms of quality put into the image. As far as alicorn OCs go I don't really like the idea of them. I myself have yet to design an OC, but I know that Alicorns are a unique and rare thing for equestria and being an alicorn is a pretty big deal. If somebody insists on making their OC an alicorn, whatever, I don't really care; just don't go flaunting it about like your the cats meow because literally anybody can make their OC an alicorn, they just choose not to either for respect for the show or some other personal reason. And regarding the OPs list, I am going to add my 2 cents for some of the points: 2. Why is emotional distress a No-No? This is their 'original character' that represents who the creator is. If somebody has been through a troubled life they have every right to express it in their pony. 3. Handicaps are downsides, things that restrict a pony from doing something on the same level as others. Rainbow Dash may be fast AF, but her ego gets in her way. Her ego is one of her handicaps. I am a good programmer, but I for the life of me can't comprehend complex math equations. Math is my handicap that may affect my programming. 4. I haven't seen many rainbows on OCs, but if they want to base their character off Rainbow Dash thats fine. The show is supposed to inspire us, so why not take in such inspiration through character development and appearances. 5. Read Number 4 6. No comment... 7. Define consistent. If somebody wants to have the opposite ends of the color wheel on their character I don't care. Contrast stands out more and can look pretty good if done right. 8. Since when do names have to rely on the Cutie Mark? Last time I checked ponies were given names before their cutie mark came in (it just so happens that a lot of characters cutie marks resemble their names, but that might just be for ease of identification in the show) 9. I agree, I am not a fan. 10. Hybrid? Like half Griffon half diamond dog? I have yet to see this one. 11. I can probably name 10 FiM characters whose cutie marks "don't make a lick of sense" 12. I agree, don't flaunt this shenanigans. 13. See the top of my post.
  9. Meh, a lot of Hasbro's toys for FiM already look like g3.5 (or prior) ponies. I have yet to come across a trademarked toy/plush that appealed to me. Commissioned work is where the good stuff is at!
  10. It could be a mini "pocket dimension" like his home. Who knows if he can travel between other planets and such...
  11. Its a true shame that Ashleigh Ball is a singer IN A BAND and appears to sing the least for the show.
