  1. Hello lovely ones :kindness: I hope you've been graced with a lovely day/evening/morning/night (the world is such an interesting place- you can have people you care about at all these stages of our cycle at once these days at the same time- its quite special :rarity:

Today has been a rather quiet, but decent day. :) Other than my regular routine of HEMA sword conditioning and rucking, plus some light perusal of youtube videos, not much at all has happened.

Have I ever mentioned that I live rurally in a forest before? It occurred to me during my routine that I've never shared the walk I take with you all, so I decided I'd snap a few photos to share :squee:

This is only during one segment of the road, but I think you get the idea :orly:^_^

All sorts of different little bugs and creatures flying around usually. I notices several different types of butterflies during a particular portion of the walk where milkweed grows for a couple football fields.:fluttershy: Just the other day I got to see a raccoon up close- I guess I was walking quietly enough for it not to notice me until I so was close I could see the color of its eyes ^_^

My dog Max was there as well, I guess the raccoon must've been a bit deaf :ooh:

The more I'm out in the natural world, the more I notice just how wondrous all of creation is. Theres so much going on around us, it's easy to loose track of it all just by the sheer overexposure of life going on  Its not that I didn't see it before, I guess with the way my mind has changed over the past couple of years, I'm just learning to really appreciate it all. :rarity:

In other news, the RCA Truflat 19 inch crt I was given is a bust :adorkable: now that's a bit of a shame! Those tvs are the perfect devices for retro gaming and watching old VHS tapes on. Luckily for me, I have a couple others, larger ones that work perfectly fine (knock on wood :o) so this busted tube isn't a huge loss. plus, it was free, so I really lost nothing ^_^ I still argue its a bit of a shame though, the march of time is constant  and takes its toll on everything- hopefully mine will stick around for quite awhile longer o.o

I have something exciting planned, something I'd really like to share with you all in the relatively neat future. I have no idea if any of you would even be interested in it, but nevertheless its something I've wanted to do for quite a while now, so hopefully it won't be a huge failure :lie:^_^. I still have important things about this project to hash out, but I"m working on it! :P

So for me, it's saturday night:mlp_yeehaa: I don't have anything planned, and will probably either end up hanging out here with whoever would like to talk (the forum is quiet on the weekends I've noticed :mlp_ooh:) and hanging out with my significant other playing a realm reborn or watching netflix

what're you up to right now dears? what fun things are you investing your time in? do they fill your soul with contentment? :rarity: <3

      Lovely place you have, @Valencia

I live in a fairly rural area, but I'm wanting more land and darker skies. The property I'm looking at has class 3 skies (very dark)! :mlp_pinkie: It's gonna put me about an hour away from work, but my current commute is already 35 minutes, so I can handle that.  ^_^

Hate to hear about the tv breaking. I love old tube tv's, since they are perfect for older games. PS2, SNES, and Sega Genesis games look amazing on my 32" Hitachi CRT, especially when using component video.

sounds awesome @Phosphor:D and by using that scale of reference, I'd say where I live the sky is between $ and 3 :P

I remember what my brother told me his girlfriend said when she first came out here at night a few years ago. she wanted to know what the weird cloud were in the night sky. When he told her that was the galaxy, she thought he was teasing her ^_^. (she's from a densely populated city in greece originally)

and you're exactly right about those old TVs, I hate to see this one go in the trash, but my 27 inch RCA truflat is all I need! (although it weighing as much as a neuron star makes it not fun to move :lie:^_^

although I do have one of those weird in between technology steps 4;3 standard def lcd tvs from philips- that thing is also awesome! :squee:

@Valencia, my place would be considered "4.5" or yellow-green, which is decent. Milky Way is brilliant overhead. It's a treat to see! ^_^ I even have a meter that measures sky brightness.

Oh, I dread having to move that tv when I'm ready to move  :crackle:
