  1. When I was in college, people tended to mistake me for 15. One time I was out with my girlfriend and a librarian thought she was my mom. o.O Now that I'm about to turn 30 people assume I'm around 21. Then when I tell them I'm married and taking college classes a second time (with a significant gap in between), they get really surprised and confused. People say it's good to look younger than you are, but I've mostly found that people take me less seriously before they know my real age. Respected, as a first impression, seems more useful than attractive, at least to me.
  2. Seconding Hexxus from Fern Gully. I would watch the entire movie, but hide behind the couch every time he came out, especially once he had a skull head. My mom liked watching murder mysteries, and I was usually fine if the body was intact, but as soon as you could see skeleton and/or skull parts I was phobic. That made watching some Star Trek TNG and Stargate episodes difficult for me later on, even though I love those series, because they occasionally (or often, in SGA) find skeletons lying around places. I can't handle real horror movies at all, even now as a full-grown adult. I saw The Ring (Japanese version) in college and had nightmares for months. I couldn't be in a room with a tv. This was pretty embarrassing at the age of 20.
  3. I'm super anxious about a presentation I have to do for class this week. @.@ AAAAAA I'll be so happy when it's over with!!!! Also, I'm hopeful that winter is finally ending and maybe this snow will melt and it'll get a bit warmer outside soon.
  4. SQUEEEEEE! The banner is so awesome!!!!
  5. MY PLUSHIE CAME YAY That is all. XD
  6. Finally got some Sunny art done... here's the one I'm most proud of: http://rohinar.deviantart.com/art/Sunset-on-the-Beach-516221671 And some more Sunny: http://rohinar.deviantart.com/art/SunLight-516220697 http://rohinar.deviantart.com/art/Sunset-s-Flame-Dress-497928918 Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for my plushie. <3
  7. So true! ;.; Still trying to sort this out...
  8. I finally ordered my plushie!! So excited! <3 :DDDD My main (mane) complaint at the moment is that I want to draw more Sunny art but I don't have time this week. DX Because there can never be too much Sunny art. Also, I went to Ponycon yesterday and there was not nearly enough Sunny. But that might have been because I only got a half day there.
  9. I'm generally in bed by 10... yawning uncontrollably by 11... and totally loopy by midnight. ^^; Hahaha yeah I'm old. Or possibly just overly responsible. >.>
  10. Reflection mistake aside, that's an awesome picture! Love the concept. ^^
  11. Wow, that's good advice. Even if I don't end up using Etsy. Thanks! I think I can apply most of that to other places, too.
  12. Good idea! I will probably do this or something very similar... I like the idea of people having options for what they want to get the picture on. I think there are a bunch of sites like that... I should research it. THAT would be fun/cool. I think I'd test the waters online first, though. Since it is a pretty significant time/money investment. And probably scope out a con so I know what I'd be getting into... I've been to anime cons but never a pony con. ^^ Thanks! Anyone else?
  13. Leftover spinach lasagna! Mmm.... cheeeeeese.....
  14. This thread is hilarious. Plus she has a nice design. SOLD. You have another fan, Unnamed Girl 15!!!
  15. Hi everyone. I've thought about starting to offer prints of my art for years now, but up until recently I've only had very personal and not always relateable images that I haven't felt could really sell. Then I discovered MLP, and I've started to draw pretty complex fanart, especially from Rainbow Rocks. I'm thinking these might actually be something people would want to buy prints of, unlike my previous work. I'm looking for advice on several points, especially from people who have sold fanart before. 1) Are there copyright infringement issues in selling prints of Hasbro's characters? So far, it's only character designs I'm using, and the drawings themselves would be 100% original. 2) Does anyone know a good platform for selling prints? Has anyone had success with DA's prints option, or Etsy, or another site? What about printing and mailing things yourself? 3) Has anyone had issues with art theft? How did you deal with it? 4) Please give me any links that might help answer my questions, if you have them! Or any other points I haven't thought of. Thanks!
  16. Ha, it's a pretty amusing hypothetical question. I don't think it's likely at all, though fun to think about. The USA is full of political and subcultural infighting without adding Canada and Mexico (which of course would have their own subcultures and political arguments) to the mix. If they were added we would have more breakdown in the functioning of the larger government and culture. I think it's far more likely that someday, the USA will break down into subregions with more autonomy, like state groupings with similar political and cultural aims and views. I don't really support such a thing, but there are a small minority of loud people who do. And I don't find it implausible. As for how I feel about it, I don't really see a larger country as good or bad, inherently. It would depend on the state of the three nations, who gets more say/power, what kind of government would be formed, etc. Would people lose or gain civil rights? How would differing ideas towards religion in government be resolved? And of course, economic and currency issues, which others have already mentioned.
  17. Sometimes I put on headphones, turn music up really loud, and just get lost in the wall of sound. ...Probably not the best for the health of my ears. >.>
  18. I like the bags of frozen more? I usually add it to stirfry and similar. I've put it in lasagna, on pizza, and made really good corn chowder from it. ^^ /technically off-topic
  19. Deep Philosophical Thoughts. Moral of the story: I think too much. Possible Solutions: eating more cheesecake, drawing, or rewatching Rainbow Rocks. Maybe I should just do all of those things. ^^
  20. Love this one! Parties are rarely as exciting as people make them out to be imo. I didn't like Pinkie in this one though it was in character for her, but I loved Fluttershy. Now we know the one thing that makes her really mad. Also, Rarity crushing her slipper haha. And also Spike at the donut shop.
  21. This is my favorite Pinkie episode. I love crazy Pinkie... so over the top. XD Plus her investigating and her suspicious face were hilarious. Also, Gummy is so cute.
  22. I don't love this one. Spike being jealous just kind of annoyed me. But I have to agree with him- that owl seems really suspicious to me. XD I wasn't convinced that it was all in Spike's head.
  23. I love this one!! It's so well done, imo. I can't even count how many times I've been in Twilight's position before. And Pinkie... she was so funny in this episode, even though she was throwing a wrench in the communication. I lost it literally every time she popped out of somewhere. Also it's really funny that the moves that make Fluttershy really awkward were what Photo Finish liked so much in the modeling and runway stuff.
  24. But even good-intentioned things that seem harmless to some people can hurt others. The sharing lesson could have been told many other ways that had far less chance of offending anyone. I don't think that harmless intentions make this episode okay or justify it.
