Good morning, forums!
One of the most fulfilling parts of my job is working with school groups and having that satisfaction of adding to their education and future development as children.
Unfortunately, I do get the occasional group who make it their mission to be as disruptive and disrespectful as possible, who don't seem to have been taught even one iota of self-discipline. In general, they make me question why I'm even bothering.
Today was one of those days.

What is it that you do?
I know it’s a lot easier to say this than to follow through, but think more of the ones who do listen and who do care for their future development. They’re the ones you’re really helping. Sooner or later the disrespectful or disruptive ones will Mostly realize how little their behavior will help them in the long run. I am sorry you had a rotten day. I hope tomorrow is better for you!

@Totally Nyx Heh. I wish. Though I usually carry an axe around with me as part of my reenactment gear. The group today just kept trying to grab it from me and egging me on to hit them. I very nearly could have.
@Stone Cold Steve Tuna I am a tour guide and historical reenactor working at a heritage centre for Viking and Medieval history.
Yeah, I understand what you mean. The vast majority of school groups that come through are very well behaved or at least perfectly manageable once asked to listen. It can just be hard to try and focus on a few select kids who actually DO want to listen when the rest of them are making life as difficult as possible. Especially so if the teachers or guardians aren't being any help (which is honestly what really ticks me off). I accept that this is simply a part of my job and that my fellow guides and co-workers have to put up with them too, but some days it just takes more out of me and makes it hard to stay positive.
But I appreciate your feedback. Thanks for the advice.

Does Jonas live in your museum? ( @Alastor )
Note: live autocorrected to love. Because we all love our Viking pony pal. <3
