  1. At long last I received my Sunburst plushie made by Jillah. I'm very happy with him!
  2. Bought 2 T-shirts from teepublic today. A rainbow Dash shirt with a Graphic from "Secrets & Pies" - Evil pie-hating Rainbow Dash, and a Sunburst T. Which I've been wanting for a long time. They come in a wide range of color choices - less in the really huge sizes - and I have been happy with the Ts I have bought on that site before. Check it out! Links to the 2 shirts I bought. https://www.teepublic.com/t-shirt/461763-my-little-pony-sunburst https://www.teepublic.com/t-shirt/1984665-evil-pie-hater-dash
  3. Just received my copy of "The Art of My Little Pony the Movie." It's fabulous! Not too much of a spoiler - good!- but plenty to feast your eyes on.
  4. I am unable to afford cable TV, so the only way I can see MLP FIM is to haunt Daily Motion, You Tube, etc. I buy the season when it comes out on disc. I would be happy to pay a reasonable fee for watching episodes on You Tube, etc. as they are issued, or to buy a season subscription for 20 bucks or so. Then I would be satisfied with waiting for episodes to air, week by week. But as it is, when I find clean copy of an an episode that I haven't seen, I download it right away. I don't care how far ahead of the US release schedule it is. It's the only way I can be sure of getting a clean copy of the episode. (Before the season is issued on disc.) I don't have much trouble avoiding spoilers if I want to - but then I don't do social media - unless you count the MLP Forums. I don't even own a cell phone, and I don't watch TV. If not seeing spoilers is important to a person, it can be done. The Internet is a world-wide phenomenon. And TV shows air in different countries at different times. That's just how it is. If you don't want to see the episodes before their release date wherever you live - then don't watch 'em! I just wish that people who put the episodes up on YouTube, etc. would put the episode up intact - minus ads. Sloppy cutting, and chopping the intro or credits is sort of - I dunno - disrespectful. Especially the closing credits. I like to look the credits over to see who the writers, voice talent, etc. are in each episode. It's a big part of why I buy the season discs each year. (And besides, if you get a charge out of the hard work of the people who make the show, you should be willing to shell out for it.) YMMV
  5. The thing for me in this episode was Luna's faces. Too funny!
  6. So cool meeting Dashie's parents! And like in last episode, the faces were the deal...
  7. It was a good story, but Rarity's faces were the thing...
  8. Heck, no! It's like Jessica Rabbit said... "I'm not really bad, I'm just drawn that way." Pinkie's dialog was written and performed loud and obnoxious. That's OK. It's one episode. Pinkie doesn't need redeeming. We've seen how considered and sensible she can be. (Of course, she was written and performed that way in those episodes, too.) When I first started watching MLP FIM I didn't like Pinkie Pie because she was loud and hyper. But over time I learned there was a lot more to her than being an obstreperous extra-extrovert. She went from being my least favorite pony to my most favorite pony. (And in that tr transition, she and Fluttershy traded rankings.) Oh, and I figure that if low-affect, undemonstrative Maud can put up with Pinkie, then she must see what is not immediately apparent to the world at large. Pinkie thinks deeply about things. But she also feels deeply about things, and her personality makes her subject to emotional outbursts. This can be grating for those of us who have a sort of Maud-type personality. But just as I have learn to tolerate, and even be amused by the egotism of Rainbow Dash, I embrace Pinkie's carryings-on. I love Pinkie, (and all the mane six), even when she makes my ears bleed.
  9. I love Pinkie. She's best pony for me, but while Maud may or may not shred guitar, Pinkie definitely shredded my eardrums this time around. That's OK. I forgive her. She pulled so many great faces and reactions that I laughed out loud half a dozen times. Polka-dot Pinkie Pie pyjamas. Re-inflating hair. Good to see Maud again.
  10. The thing I liked best about this episode was that Pinkie Pie was more organized than Twilight.
  11. So, someone said (about Ep. 2) they didn't see the point of all the back and forth of the Mane Six solving the room puzzle, and Starlight and Trixie freaking out. I thought it was fun editing, and the dialog matching was entertaining too. But the real reason I liked that part of the ep. was that I've been waiting for months to see ALL of the mane six. Thanks to the room puzzle I got to see some of all of them, and hear them sing a fun song. I don't much like Trixie or Starlight, and if I'd had to watch an entire episode of those two I'd have been pretty peeved. (I really enjoyed Bulk Biceps' remark about wearing many hats. He keeps reminding me of Mr. Horse from Ren and Stimpy. I just hope that someday he says, "No sir, I don't like it!) Oh, and I loved the 4-seasons motif in the song... Oh again. Why does Dashie's forelock never blow back as she's flying? Well, HARDLY ever...
  12. Celestia's laugh... Nice to see Sunburst - more please!
  13. AT LAST! My Troubleshoes custom stuffie arrived! He's so great! It was a long wait, but the result is glorious. He was made by Jillah, a Deviant Art artist. http://jillah92.deviantart.com/ He's just a hair under 16" tall (to the tips of his ears). Very firmly stuffed, so he stands well. You can "stack" him and he doesn't tip over. And he's extremely huggable. And he has the cutest butt!
  14. Oh, Poo! I thought it was a great season - and this ep was one of my favorites. Both Vapor and Sky were beautifully designed, and the story was big fun. Dash was her good self. Would really like to hear military Bronies talk about this one...
  15. This episode reminded me of "I Love Lucy" where Lucy gets herself in trouble and keeps getting in deeper while trying to get out. Those are the kind of lessons that stay with you. (As long as you're not Lucy!) I don't have much sympathy for those who complain about "hype" misleading them about episode content. There's an easy cure... Don't watch hype and previews! Wait and let the episode unfold naturally. Loved the jabber-jaws Big Mac, although I'm pleased that he grew out of it. Some wonderful faces in the episode. Applejack's coughing fit, Granny's grumpy faces, and Big Mac's grumpy faces. I'm a Granny myself, and it was great to see so much of Granny Smith!
  16. Yeah, Pirate Capt. Applejack was the best - but I liked the rest of it too...
  17. This was fun. I was inspired by a T-shirt design from We Love Fine. Mine is not so stylish and elegant, but it's fun...
  18. Not being a Starlight fan, (I still think her color-scheme is the worst) I was kinda dreading this episode. But I very much enjoyed it. I caught myself thinking, hey, maybe she is getting reformed... But her failure - right to the end - to get the point of the friendship lessons, and by extension, friendship itself, soon cured me of that notion. It's like she's had her empathy circuits disabled. Yeah, she tries hard, but she's not trying to be a friend, (because she's never grokked the concept) she's trying to be a success. So although she seems nice, she's nice because it gets her good treatment and kudos. There's a big difference between being a nice person and being a good person. Nice people are often nice because, in the best case, they think they're supposed to, and in the worst case because it guilts people into giving the nice person whatever they want. (Oh, I just couldn't say no! She was being so nice!) I'd much rather have a friend that was a good person with a few personality warts, than a nice person who had no real concept of what being a friend means when push comes to shove. All of the Mane Six have some, at least occasional, irritating personality flaws. Rainbow Dash is a solipsist, Applejack is sometimes painfully blunt, Rarity is a drama-queen, Twilight is OCD and for all her brains, she still exhibits fuzzy thinking sometimes, Pinkie is LOUD, and even Fluttershy - she's exasperatingly pollyanna sometimes - to the point that she can't see anything bad about the worst person/situation. (I think that's why her Flutterbat persona went over so well.) But Starlight seems a little too nice to be true, just as her "conversion" to niceness happened too quickly. She's a survivor, and she seems to me to have donned the "cloak of niceness" to figure out how to come out on top of the ponies in her new environment. I don't think she necessarily means any harm, but her most basic instinct seems to be to be for power rather than for friendship and harmony.
  19. Well, considering that some of my least favorite things in the world are Las Vegas, Siegfried & Roy, and Elvis, I found this episode surprisingly entertaining. Flim and Flam were their usual slimy selves. Predictably, the show set in Las Pegasus was rife with lies, trickery and deception. After all, that's what Las Vegas is all about. But as someone else said, the real show was the setting and background characters. Rendered with real imagination and a sense of fun.
  20. Man, that Gabby was wired! Jabber, jabber, jabber - flit, flit, flit... But she was cute. I just don't understand how she survived the endemic crankiness of Griffinstone. But now she has "honorary" cutie marks. It's all good. I'd like to see her team up with the dragon princess and get griffins and dragons over their orneriness.
  21. Another fun, entertaining and Starlight-free episode. Snails was a hoot, and Flutters and Pinkie were fun together. Never been much of a sports-fan because of the type of pressure and kill-kill-kill attitude Dash was showing. But winning the game felt good when it was about having a good time doing it.
  22. Ahhhhhhhh! Finally a Discord fix! I have to admit I've never taken part in a role-playing game, but I've seen what happens to those who do... I was sorta hoping Big Mac would be a princess, but he did have some cool armor. I loved him checking out the babe at the club. LOVED opposite Fluttershy. Spike, as usual, was more grounded and out front than everyone. Discord's long, flowing locks were quite appealing. E-yup, That was a good one! (And delightfully Starlight-free. )
  23. Well, I liked the fact that the entire Mane Six were involved in this episode. No invading monsters or semi-redeemed villain. I think that's partly what made it feel retro, but so what? It was nice to see them doing something that was just them. I loved the Spike/scroll sequence. Big fun! Oh yeah, and speaking of villains. I want DISCORD!
  24. If for nothing else, this episode was fun because of all the times I got to listen to Dashie's squeaky laughter. I never liked practical jokes much, and I think Rainbow Dash got her just desserts. I loved how Rainbow finally got it. She pulls the best faces. Not too scary, but yeah, it would have been a good Halloween episode.
  25. Of course, I am only teasing! But you did kinda walk into that one. And even the real Quibble Pants - though he would be hard to take as a steady diet - was fun as an exotic side-dish.
