  1. Damn, I hate it when my friends leave the site and I'm unaware of it. =(

I'm around :P Just not on here. I've moved on, fellas. :/ Don't particularly like this place anymore. Also, my inactivity was at an all time high, too...

Nuke, you know where I am.

Also, I have contact info on my profile. :)

I know I made a blog about it before but this time I am not coming back, and I didn't want to make an announcement tbh. Feels kind of unnecessary.

@Celi, Okay, I shall reveal it for him as you wish.

  2. This is exactly how I feel. The show is just a little too faithful to the message of: "throw friendship at any and every problem and it is guaranteed to work 100% of the time." I can understand friendship being a solution, but I don't like how it's often the only solution. "Oh, the entire town is deeply in poverty? No problem! You all just need to be friends with each other!" That said, I don't think that Suri is one of those characters who is beyond saving. She's not inherently evil, she's simply been forced to adopt a certain mindset due to personal experiences.
  3. But of course. Friendship is Magic and Reformations are as easy as 1-2-3!
  4. The show has both good points and bad. Horn, Sweet Horn is pretty bad, though... I'm certainly not a fan of what they've done to Bubbles. Why is she so hostile now? Hell, even Buttercup seems like a bigger jerk than she used to be, and only once had an episode where she was called out for it. Beyond that, I'm still waiting on some good action, honestly. I don't mind the slice-of-life approach, but it seems to dominate things so far. You probably wouldn't guess right away that the girls are supposed to be superheroines.
  5. I'm going with Spike. He still hasn't had a solo, unless you count his cringe-worthy butchering of the Cloudsdale Anthem.
  6. The new Powerpuff Girls is certainly no Teen Titans Go....yet, anyway

  7. Unfortunately, it's implied that Sweet Apple Acres isn't too financially well off, to the point where one bad season could end up bankrupting the Apples. Personally, I hate this implication, but it's there...
  8. Eh, I'm far more impressed by Rarity and her ability to build herself from the ground up, pouring blood, sweat, and tears into her work. Twilight had far too much handed to her on a silver platter.
  9. Starting to wonder how much will the show bend over backwards for Starlight in the end? How much "me too!" will she play just for the sake of making her feel like she's important?

  10. Probably not a "millionaire" per se, but she's easily the wealthiest of the mane six.
  11. That's logical in a sense, but it's not like a cutie mark was the only thing separating them from childhood and adulthood.
  12. A decent start to the CMC's new arc, though it arguably could have been better. I can understand Apple Bloom's concerns, but at the same time, it's not like it was ever a guarantee that the CMC would each get a shared destiny. She really should have been preparing herself for the possibility that their paths could ultimately lead them in separate ways. And hell, wasn't this point even brought up in Bloom and Gloom? Why wasn't it addressed there? I do find something depressing about the notion that the CMC have apparently never thought to do things simply because they enjoy doing them, and have only done them for the sake of getting marks. That makes it seem as though they put their own childhoods aside in the search for cutie marks. So even when we've seen them playing before, was that just an attempt to get a cutie mark as well? Also, why is the idea of travelling Equestria to help ponies with cutie mark problems immediately shot down? That's exactly what they need! How much can they truly expect to be able to put their talent to good use while they're contained within Ponyville? They need to be getting out there, even if they have to bring their sisters along with them. Those could easily make for some fun episodes for their arc, while also tying into the Explore Equestria theme for this season. Furthermore, it definitely seems to me that the CMC are going to need their own "cutie map"--- a device to let them know exactly where a cutie mark problem is so that they aren't relegated to simply stumbling upon them completely at random, like in this episode. So who knows, maybe that'll come later on. Oh, and subjecting herself to public humiliation for the sake of helping a pony get his cutie mark is easily the most thoughtful and generous thing Apple Bloom has ever done, so good on her for that. In any case, this was a fairly good episode: decently paced with a rather heartfelt song.
  13. I don't see a whole lot of Rarity haters in general, and even if there were, they certainly wouldn't be prevalent on on this site. (See: Fan Clubs)
  14. A FiM character contest on GameFAQs has Applejack pitted against Marble Pie: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/203-cartoons-and-animation/73543526 Show your support for our adorable apple pone!
  15. Just bad writing, in general. With both Amy Keating Rogers and M.A. Larson not involved with season 6, I can't help but feel that I'm not going to enjoy it quite as much as previous seasons. Also, this. I'm really hoping there won't be a disproportionate level of focus on her. Things are already a bit unbalanced as it is, which is why both Fluttershy and Spike only had one episode each last season.
  16. Her character is paper thin. Her every third sentence is about something rock-related and her affection towards Pinkie is really the only thing I have to know that she even has emotions. The irony is that I only don't like her because she's given me so little to like about her. I really don't think I have to look deeper, or that she's some enigma to be cracked. She's just a gimmick.
  17. I won't be a bunny much longer, so everyone pet me and admire how cute I am while you still can!!! =P

  18. Maud is the epitome of a dimensionless, one-note gimmick character, and I can barely stand her myself. But given that the mane six have already established and moved past their differences with her, I honestly doubt they'll ever be pushed to a breaking point where she's concerned. They've accepted that they ultimately have little in common with her, but they remain on decent terms nevertheless, if only for Pinkie's sake.
  19. Me, of course! In all seriousness, I think the kind of stallion Applejack would be interested in is one who is not only as independent as she is, but who actually has no problem relying on her to take care of herself. She certainly wouldn't want to be treated as if she's helpless or shouldn't be expected to pull her own weight. Oh, and one who's honest, obviously.
  20. Twilight becoming a supporting character? Are you talking about the exact same pony who pretty much had a whole two-parter all to herself not too long ago? No. There's absolutely nothing for you to worry about.
  21. After today's episode, not only am I utterly confused by Maud's popularity, I'm utterly baffled by it.

I like her as she's that introvert pony who loves rocks but has a deep affection for her sister to the point she'll look out for her and defend her at will without problem. She's essentially that stoic and introvert older sister that looks out for her younger sisters in that regard.

Still, she's incredibly one-dimensional, and that just doesn't seem to be changing.

She holds a little more to her character than a love for rocks and her sister. It's also the way her personality is where Rarity was still uncomfortable speaking with her at the start till she gets a bit more familiar with her. Also while this isn't exactly a grand character episode for her, it did revealed and developed a bit more on her for the better.

  22. Tremendously unlikely. For one thing, I sincerely doubt they're going to repeat that same plot thread. Secondly, Equestria is overcrowded with princesses as it is, what point would there ultimately be in adding another one? What kind of princess would Starlight be, anyway? The Princess of Friendship 2.0? And what other plot threads would be repeated following it? Would Starlight also feel like her role as a princess is meaningless (because it honestly would be)? Would that culminate in her getting her own castle as well? Besides, why does Starlight's development have to mirror Twilight's? It doesn't, and it'd be really stupid if it did. When it comes to learning about friendship, Twilight and Starlight were and are on two completely different wavelengths. Twilight was a natural leader almost from the beginning, and she needed very little guidance from Celestia. Meanwhile, Starlight clearly isn't at that point yet, and it appears Twilight will have heavy involvement in her friendship studies. Honestly, the only goal that Starlight should be expected to achieve out of learning about friendship is simply becoming a better, happier, and (obviously) more popular person. That's just about it. Furthermore, I honestly couldn't imagine a bigger slap in the face to the mane five. It would take a hell of a lot more than two seasons to justify to me why she supposedly deserves to ascend more than they do, even if you were to write them out of the show entirely. Since when do the Elements have anything to do with pony races? Putting aside how utterly contrived a seventh Element appering out of nowhere would be, Starlight honestly isn't entitled to wield an Element. She's a student. She's not on the mane six's level, and she shouldn't be given everything that they've been given just to make her fit in with them. Also, it'd definitely have to be something better than forgiveness. The fact that Starlight can be forgiven (for whatever reason) has nothing to do with her own ability to forgive.
