  1. I really don't think I am misunderstanding you. You literally just said that people with negative opinions about the writing only serve to piss others off, which clearly indicates that you yourself are getting pissed off with the complaints in this thread and that's why you've lashed out. People actually do have the right to express their negativity just as much as they have the right to express their positivity. And they certainly don't deserve to be told to quit the show and move on just because they have a negative attitude towards something. If you feel the need to argue opinions, you can do so, but beyond that, people have the right to express what they want to express. Also, do you really think that just because the show is free to watch, people shouldn't have any issues with the directions it takes? That's pretty damn close to saying that you're only allowed to dislike something if you're actually paying for it. I mean, come on...
  2. I don't know what's so difficult for you to understand that just because people have concerns, doesn't mean that they have already made the decision to hate changes before they happen. Hell, a lot of what we're seeing in this thread is people saying that they'll just have to wait and see. I barely see anyone in this thread acting like this is the end of the world, but you apparently just have an issue with people showing any kind of concern at all. Bottom line, people have every right to voice their concerns here and it's exactly the kind of thing these forums are for. If you want nothing but positivity and optimism, then I suggest you just ignore them. There's still no way that this represents everyone. *sigh* So basically, positive opinions are the right opinions, while negative opinions are just an inconvenience? In that case, I think everyone in this topic with a non-positive opinion about the premiere owes you a formal apology for being such a bother to you. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to take their negativity elsewhere, because in this forum, we should clearly only be talking about the good.
  3. How am I twisting your words again? You're clearly saying here that anyone who has concerns about the show should just give up and stop watching. Period. People have concerns because they fear that the show could potentially drop in quality and they could fall out of love with it when they don't want to. But you're basically saying that those should clearly just give up now. If you really feel that way, I guess that means that you believe that the show is perfect and those who don't believe as such should just go away. There is no way in hell you can prove this. And does this mean that you consider any negative review of any episode to be from a Twilicorn hater who is still just lashing out against the show? Also, bronies know that Hasbro doesn't care about them when it comes to which direction to take the show in, but it doesn't mean they can't call out bad writing when they see it.
  4. She could get plenty of guidance from mental health institutions as they work on her impulsive anger issues and psychopathic tendencies. In any case, I'm struggling to see how adding Starlight to the main cast won't ultimately be a detriment to the mane five. It clearly hasn't worked for Equestria Girls -- the humane five don't feel like main characters at all. How can the mane five avoid feeling like "bottom tier" characters when there's yet another layer of importance separating them from Twilight? The writers are obviously going to have to bend over backwards just for Starlight: having her come out as a hero as many times as possible, having her come up with solutions, and whatever else they'll clearly have to do to just to make us forget all the terrible things she's done (which includes attempting to kill Twilight) and convince us that there's no longer an evil bone in her body. Furthermore, Twilight was powerful enough to make them feel borderline useless at times, so adding yet another tremendously overpowered character will simply devalue them further. The way I see it, transitioning Starlight into a main will simply screw the mane five over in favor of a character who not only hasn't earned what they've earned, but cannot feasibly do so this late in the show.
  5. I guess as a better alternative to Tartarus or prison? Seems that she could have easily just remained at her town after Twilight took her back.
  6. No. I'm definitely not looking forward to Starlight getting the majority of the focus in the first few season 6 episodes because the writers will be desperately attempting the hit us over over the head with: "You see? She's 100% good now!" so that her transition to the cast feels more natural. I'm definitely not going to pretend that she's earned anything close to what the mane six have earned, even if she does end up saving the day in the premiere.
  7. That's fair, but I haven't really seen it in this thread. I've mostly just seen a lot of concerns that sound mostly valid, but Heaven forbid anyone should have a problem with anything that happens in the show. And another thing, just because the Twilicorn drama was a massive overreaction doesn't mean Twilicorn didn't actually change anything. It changed a lot, mostly by significantly increasing her importance over her friends. It is therefore fair to assume that any changes in the show can be handled in the wrong way.
  8. That's possible, I suppose. Yes, every legitimate and rational concern people may have is completely unfounded because the show is and will remain perfect.
  9. It's not like that really made much sense either. In any case, there is absolutely no good reason why a spontaneous bit magic that a baby does should legitimately endanger an entire city.
  10. It does as far as the fandom is concerned, and also as far as Hasbro is concerned. Flurry Heart didn't have to be so overpowered at birth, but she is for no other reason than to show that she's already super special.
  11. Yeah, I'm really hoping that what she does simply ends up triggering some sort of chain reaction that leads to the blizzard, because the notion that she can cause a potentially life-threatening blizzard on her own with next to no effort whatsoever is utterly ridiculous. :okiedokielokie: Furthermore, it's really getting on my nerves that the writers are only strengthening every last notion the fandom has about alicorns being extraordinarily powerful just for the sake of it. Ultimately, it just paints alicorns as the most special race in the world, and every other pony race is inferior.
  12. I'm trying to think of the potential ways as to how the mane five will actually be useful in this premiere. Twilight is, of course, on top of everything with a potential spell, and will no doubt be crucial to fixing the crisis. But the mane five are pretty shown....leading an evacuation? I really don't want this to be the second two-parter in a row in which they do absolutely nothing but fill space.
  13. She's not a Mary Sue, but she's definitely annoyingly overpowered (especially in the comics) and overall just too "super duper special." She gets nearly everything on the merit of simply being Twilight.
  14. That's a lot like Twilight, really. At least Flurry Heart won't be a main character. That said, Flurry Heart turning into a plot device right out of the gate was downright inevitable and fully expected.
  15. My prediction as to when Celestia and Luna will both be rendered useless in the season premiere when everything starts going down: 4 minutes

    1. Nuke87654

      Nuke87654

Sadly that seems to be going accordingly with what the promo showed.

    2. Riganthor

      Riganthor

      I say 5 minutes

  16. Because that's exactly what she wants out of life, even if her aspirations don't end there. If Twilight's so great, why has she still done next to nothing with her princess status? Why does she just sit on her ass waiting for a map to tell her to do something while simultaneously doing almost nothing proactive to better her country? Of course, it's not as if any of this is relevant to a "most attractive pony" competition, unless it has somehow inexplicably morphed into a "best pony" competition. Really hope you're not serious about this. But on the other hand... SOON...
  17. The notion that Equestria Girls isn't canon remains a very legitimate position. FiM has gone almost out of its way to deny that any Equestria Girls film has happened. Case in point, the portal. It's now in Twilight's castle, presumably in her library, and yet not once did we see it throughout season 5, despite seeing her library multiple times. Something like that would have been "be all, end all" confirmation of its canonicity. And yet, it wasn't there, nor was there even the slightest reference to the films to be found in all of season 5. The films can make all the references to the show that they want, but at the end of the day, all that proves is that FiM is canon to Equestria Girls (which should be obvious anyway). It DOES NOT prove the opposite. So yes, as far as I'm concerned, Equestria Girls is non-canon to FiM and it will remain that way until I see evidence to the contrary.
  18. Absolutely not. Starlight has legitimate mental health issues that need to be addressed before I can accept her reformation. Her issues are quite severe, and cannot simply be washed away with a few simple friendship speeches. She's emotionally unstable, has an inferiority complex, and is borderline psychopathic. She showed sinister delight as she allowed Twilight to potentially fall to her death, and expressed an even greater sinister delight as Twilight missed her with a laser blast and subsequently encased Rainbow in a crystal block. Oh, and keep in mind that happened shortly after she had blasted Dash herself (yes, she laser blasted a defenseless filly :okiedokielokie: ). In short, she's insane. Give her a couple hundred hours of therapy in mental rehabilitation clinic, and then I'll accept it.
  19. Oh, so was I wrong all along, then? So there is no "humane seven" when it comes to Equestria Girls? I was overestimating their worth the entire time in thinking that they weren't simply there to fill space? Makes sense, I guess.
  20. I couldn't possibly nail my thoughts any better than this.
  21. It's rare that I brohoof so many posts in one thread. Lots of good suggestions here, guys. Some of my favorites: This! There is absolutely no good reason why Dash should gotten off scot-free with the destruction she deliberately caused to the Weather Factory in Tanks for the Memories. Yes, please. Ugh, yes.
  22. Happy birthday!
