  1. Yes, because it implies that nearly everyone can be saved, and that they all have good inside them which simply needs to be tapped into by doing nothing more than introducing them to friendship. Friendship simply cannot be the solution to every problem.
  2. "2. Make Starlight Glimmer a member of the main cast" *sighs* *skips ahead to number three* YES!!! YES!!! That would please me!!! Seriously, though, it's not as though Starlight reverting back to evil would prove that the magic of friendship doesn't work. It would simply prove that it isn't the "be all, end all" solution that it's constantly being portrayed to be. Plus, not everyone can be saved. That's just a fact of life. And I just feel that Starlight has far too many ingrained beliefs to simply be turned 100% good after a brief, minute-long speech from Twilight. She is clearly mentally unstable, and I strongly believe that she has serious problems that cannot simply be fixed by her embracing friendship again.
  3. Twilight's Kingdom easily. A single DBZ-esque fight scene does not equal "ZOMG BEST EPISODE EVAR!!!" Especially not when the rest of the episode is full of terrible writing and ridiculous contrivances. :okiedokielokie:

  5. Celestia most certainly cares about Twilight. That's for sure. However, Twilight's friends are a different story. Ever since Magical Mystery Cure, I've been under the impression that she doesn't really care about them much at all outside of the role they play in advancing Twilight's destiny. I still have to wonder whether or not Celestia was aware of the fact that Twilight failed Starswirl's spell the first time and altered the mane five's destinies. But if she was, she certainly didn't lift a single hoof to help simply because she wanted Twilight to figure it out herself so that she could become a princess. The mane five were simply pawns to trigger Twilight's ascension. :okiedokielokie: If you want more proof, there's also Party Pooped. Though Pinkie was the one who deserved all the praise for the fact that a pony-yak war would not take place, Celestia still wasted no time giving Twilight all the praise while sorting Pinkie under "[her] friends", as though implying that she did not do any more or any less work than the rest of the mane five. :okiedokielokie:
  6. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I could brohoof this. Celestia's mind-numbing incompetence in Twilight's Kingdom is one of the reasons why I hate that two-parter so much. Though she had proven to be fairly incompetent in the past, this was the episode where I legitimately began to wonder how the hell Equestria managed to survive a millennium under her rule.
  7. Keep in mind, Starlight will most certainly be conveniently nerfed for season 6 since she'd probably break the show otherwise. Though she displayed a ton of power in the finale, I think the only thing she'll actually retain is her ability to fly.
  8. I really hate the notion that Twilight is an all-powerful goddess just waiting to be born. She still doesn't use magic responsibly enough for me to think that Equestria as a whole would not be utterly doomed if she tapped into this so-called "potential." In any case, I really don't think anyone compares to Discord.....
  9. This x100. But you know, even in spite of everything we've seen which would probably suggest the opposite, I somehow believe that if they really got into it, Celestia would utterly mop the floor with Twilight.
  10. Lmao, no!!! The comic staff is clearly not privy to know any changes to the show's status quo beforehand. Case in point, when Magical Mystery Cure happened, they scrambled to go back and draw alicorn wings on Twilight in all of the current and upcoming issues. We can easily tell that this is still the case, given that there's an upcoming arc featuring the CMCs and the still-unreformed Diamond Tiara. Would they have produced this arc had they known that the CMC would be receiving their cutie marks in season five? I think not.
  11. Starlight Glimmer, mostly because I feel like she got off with a slap on the wrist and she most definitely deserved more than that.
  12. No, Twilight definitely wasn't an OP Mary Sue in season 5, and I'm really not sure how anyone could say that she was. Season 4, however, was a different story. I was downright aggravated by how flawless, infallible, and OP she was in that season.

  14. I agree with you wholeheartedly with Sunset's redemption. And while I do feel Starlight's was fundamentally better, it still just doesn't work for me. And this fury consumed her so much that she was willing to flat-out destroy the possibility of a non-apocalyptic Equestrian future, all so that Twilight would never become friends with the mane five. And this isn't something that's simply negligible and can be swept under the rug. This is serious. This is how bad her "fury" can get---that any humane feelings towards her actions can be instantly negated by nothing more than something as simple as envy. In this case, it's envy that Twilight's friendships are so crucial to Equestria's future. Bottom line, Starlight is a borderline psychopath, and there is NOTHING her last-minute reformation did to convince me that she isn't still a borderline psychopath. That she doesn't still have an underlying fury that most certainly needs to be addressed before she can hope to become a recurring character, let alone a main one. Hell, she flipping laser blasted the filly Rainbow Dash less than ten minutes before her reformation occurred. I mean, come on.... :okiedokielokie: And yet, what irritates me the most is that it seems as though her road to redemption is finished. That she isn't going to go through a period where the mane six mistrust her like Discord did, nor will she go through a period where she has to legitimately earn the mane six's forgiveness. We're apparently supposed to believe that after years of holding unwavering views on cutie marks, she is now 100% changed after a simple and quick "it won't happen again" speech and that the mane six have no reason not to give her their unwavering trust right away. Just doesn't seem right to me....at all.
  15. It's not that she's overpowered in general, it's that she's far more overpowered than her friends. And that's something that makes her more useful than them on a level which is quite considerable. Ultimately, they can't compete. It particularly gets annoying in episodes such as Made in Manehattan where the mane five actually wish that they had brought Twilight along so that she could solve their problem magically in roughly three seconds.
